I know I'm not the only one, but it was awesome to see Hogan and Rock in the same ring. They were both on and how cool was it for the crowd to chant for Rock and Hogan. I even thought it was cool how 'Taker laid down the challenge to Ric Flair. Seeing the Razor's Edge again and having it called the Razor's edge was cool as well. The Ambulance and Truck and angle was a bit over the top. But when Rock comes out at Mania after being out for four weeks it will pay off well. That match will be able to sell itself, but they fit 4 weeks worth of hype into one night. I thought it was a great job. I still can't get over seeing Hogan, Hall, and Nash in a WWF ring. Especially Hogan. One of my biggest criticisms of Hogan has always been how he is stale, but tonight proved that there is a whole crew of new people for him to work with. "Fantasy matches" for lack of a better term. I was skeptical of how the whole NWO thing would go down, but so far it has impressed me and I can't wait for Wrestlemania.

I agree.  I just hope that Hogan is willing to put Rock over cleanly at Mania or in a rematch.

I kind of remember there BEING a Raw, and that Angle lost to the Sloth, but not anything else. I think I blocked it out.

I marked out too.  I haven't gotten that exciting over wrestling in a long time.  It's a good feeling!   Rock and Hogan came through in a BIG way.  Their promo was epic.   Hall did a sweet Razor's Edge too.

Basically they just sold Wrestlemania to a LOT of people with those 20+ minutes.

Well, I didn't mark out.  Raw up to the Hogan/Rock segment was shit, the first part of Hogan's promo sucked, but he hasn't been in front of a crowd in ages, so it's understandable.  A kind of promo ring rust, if you will.  When Rock came out, the promo went from 'eh' to 'whoa'.  I don't want to see Hogan in the ring ever again, but the fans do, and Rock v. Hogan will draw.

My mouth was open the entire time. It was unbelieveable. Especially when the fans started chanting for Hogan while they were face to face. That was unbelieveable.

It was an awesome show!! One of the best Raw's of all time. It'll be interesting to see who the crowd at WrestleMania side with, Rock or Hogan. For a supposed heel, Hogan got a lot of face heat. That's one problem of the nWo, no matter what they do, they're cool heels. =)

Take care.

I was marking out like crazy and I still can't get this little happy grin off my face. Just hearing the crowd go back and forth with "Hogan...Rocky...Hogan...Rocky!" was awesome.

The main event was 15 minutes long and was good. Alot of the Wrestlemania card has already been figured out a whole month before the event. I already am pumped about Wrestlemania.

Anyone who says the Rock-Hogan program didn't have them marking out and says it was crap should get off their smarks high horse and actually look at the good sides of the program for once instead of picking through it.

The whole raw seemed  like it was 1997 all over again. From the sit down strike(savage did it on nitro after a superbrawl i believe) to austin being arrested(too many other times to list) to the big ambulance spot.

BTW, when they were loading rock onto the ambulance, it looked like Rock has gotten pudgy. Like Keith has said, POP TARTS ARE NOT TOYS~!

I agree for the most part... although it seemed like Hogan just kind of showed up and let Rock take over. But yea, it was pretty unbelievable, atmosphere/historically wise. I can't complain, it was entertaining...

With that being said, the idea of Rock and Hogan having a match at Wrestlemania doesn't exactly grab me... I'm just not interested in seeing it.

I'm glad to see that so many people allowed themselves to mark out for once.  It seems like the last few months everyone has been talking about the demise of wrestling and even moreso with the return of the NWO.  I'm looking forward to WM18 and as long as you don't go in expecting a ***** match from Hogan and Rock, you know its going to be entertaining as hell.  Rock always has his A game at ppv's and with the time off to get rid of being "burnt out", he'll be ready to carry Hogan to a very entertaining match.

I'm glad people Marked out, I did. I had a smile on my face the whole 20 minutes. I have never expected a ***** match but I'm not Keith, I don't grade on Work and country.

Anglesault, either Angle's loss affected your mind, or you smoked more pot than I did last night.

And as for last night's Raw.  The main event was good, and the Rock/Hogan segment did succeed in making me mark out.  The rest of the show sucked.  Two unneeded squash matches (what is this Godfather thing leading up to?  Why is Hennig being jobbed?), a shitty arrest angle, and to top it off, Storm and Christian jobbed.

I think one of the sweetest parts about the confrontation, was the fan's reaction. I loved how the Chicago fans chant went from Rocky to Hogan and back. The whole segment blew me away because I never thought I could imagine Rock & Hogan in one ring.

i can't believe everybody else here was watching the same show.  hogan's promo wasn't anything special; i was pretty bored till the rock came.  i can appreciate a dramatic pause, but that pause was so long that time seemed to slow down before the rock finally started talking.  mad props to rocky, his promo was KILLER & it joyed me to know end to see him make hogan his verbal bitch.  he asked hogan for a match, & time slowed down AGAIN before he said yes.  obligatory rock bottom, which everyone saw coming.  scott hall made the nWo beatdown entertaining (cause i love it when he acts goofy & i love that razor's edge), but nash's punches didn't come within 6 inches of their intended target.  when the time finally came for the legdrop, hogan didn't even bounce of the ropes.  rock did the obligatory stretcher job, and then the nWo did a beatdown the ambulance and ran a semi into it?  didn't this strike anyone else as retarded?  and what was with hogan saying "lay the smack down on his crippled ass" every other second?  this was sports entertainment writing at its laziest, i half-expected cheatum the midget to be the ambulance driver.  and afterwards, JR and the king go into their "this isn't staged, this is really happening" mode, insulting my intelligence.

and to top it all off, all of the above took over HALF AN HOUR to happen.  when triple h got dropped 40 feet, at least it was short and the announce team didn't try to sell it as real.

yes, i am saying the survivor series 2000 angle was better than this angle.

Funny thing about Anglesault, HHH and Angle in a good match, no one talks about RVD, Rock vs Hogan promo. nWo beating.

But he only remember Angle losing.

Looks like now HHH had a good match he suddenly had a alzheimer.

godthedog: my thoughts exactly.  i thought hogan spoke for a little too long at the start, but then rock saved with an awesome promo, the mocking of hulks gestures had me marking.  i thought they stalled a fair bit though with hogan's pauses, and this sorta lost me a little.  the beatdown was *awesome* i marked for the razor's edge.  the truck bit was unnecessary, but watchable anyway, the thing that pissed me was the endless replays for the next 15 mins.  i just wanted to see some wrestling after that, last night was the "night of the promo" thats for damn sure.

It was great. Sometimes its so easy to be cynical about pro-wrestling, but rock and hogan was the kind of thing that when I was a kid I would have adored. And I think it was pretty cool now :)

For everyone saying they are having flashbacks to 1997, just be glad you are having flashbacks to good stuff and not flashbacks to crap.

97 wasn't exactly a GOOD year for WCW, IIRC. And what happened with Rock reminded me of the ultra lame-o stuff that happened to Austin and HHH at the 99 and 2000 Survivor Series.

1997 NWO beatdowns and spraypaintwas not good stuff. It was redundant and tired. Flashbacks of good 1997 is Guerrero-Malenko at Uncensored, Rey Mysterio making my jaw drop. After a month of the same NWO beatdown crap people will tune out just like they did years ago.

people didn't tune out after a month.  Ratings rose and Nitro won every week all through '97
