Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted July 16, 2002 After recieving several tapes I purchased (SSeries 90, WM 6, Raw Prime cuts, RR 92, and this) I decided to just run threw this hour of wrestling to get the old typing fingers going. WWF TELEVISION FEBRUARY 1991 -Opening Match: -Tag Team Battle Royal for #1 Contendership of Tag Team Titles at Wrestlemania VII: (Participants: Legion of Doom, Demolition, Rockers, Orient Express, Nasty Boys, Power & Glory, Bushwhackers) Everyone pairs off for a while. Roma hammers at Brian Knobbs until sags comes from behind and grabs his face. Animal in the corner hammers Tanaka while the bushwhackers square of separately with Hercules & a Nasty Boy. Demolition go to press both Rockers out but Marty saves Shawn and vice versa. double drop-kick sends Smash of Demolition out, eliminating the team. Crush refuses to leave and Shawn Michaels beats him up a little. My Bad, Marty Jannetty. Kato dumps Bushwhacker Luke out of the match eliminating the Whackers. Shawn lays it into Knobbs and Hercules goes to toss out Tanaka. Shawn misses a drop-kick on Knobbs and eliminates his own partner by mistake. The Nasties beat down Hercules while Tanaka & Roma attack Road Warrior Hawk. LOD work on the Express and Hawk puts the boots on Kato. Kato misses a charge and is backdropped out and Tanaka is press slammed on top of him by Animal. Animal on the outside slams Roma back inside and Hercules hammers him. Nasty Boys double team Hawk at the same time animal catches Roma from the top rope and slams him to the floor. Its down to Nasty Boys & Legion of Doom. Hawk goes for the doomsday device but Roma knocks him off, causing him to gall to the floor at 6:10 (I don't know if clipped). Nasties go to Wrestlemania VII to face the Hart Foundation, and Power & Glory soon named as Legion of Doom's opposition. -Big Boss Man vs. Barbarian: (Also on Supertape Vol. 4) NOTE: I decided to rant it this time since its short. Match Joined in Progress: Barbarian on the attack and he lays a series of axhandles into the back of Bossman. Irish Whip to the buckle and he catches Bossman with a bearhug. Bossman bites the face of Barbarian to break the hold, but Barbarian up with a boot to the kisser. Barbie to the 2nd rope and he comes down missing an elbow drop. Both men back up and they exchange several right shots and Bossman takes the advantage. Enziguri by Bossman drops Barbie for 2. Bossman slingshots Barbarian into the ropes but only for a 2 count. Bossman to the top rope now and gets rolled up in a cross body press for 2. Barbarian blocks a sunset flip for 2 only to have it reversed for a 3 count at a clipped 4:55. 1/4*. Ugh, no wonder I didn't want to touch this. Haku from the back joins in on a beating of the Bossman after the match. -Shawn Michaels (w/ Marty Jannetty) vs. Demolition Crush (w/ Mr. Fuji) (From Supertape Vol. 4) RE-RANT OF THIS MATCH hot chick in front row like I said before. LOL. Both men get advice from their manager/tag team partner. Lock up and Crush pounds on Shawn for a little while. Mooney & Hayes on commentary, ugh. Irish whip to the buckle but Crush misses and elbow. Michaels goes for 10 punches but its blocked but ends up nailing a crescent kick and several clotheslines and a diving shuolderblock. Crush with Shawn on the outside and sends him face first to the mat. Gorilla Press Slam by Crush is blocked into a hurricanrana like maneuver and Shawn with a drop toe hold and goes for a front headlock. Crush up and he scores with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and works in a torture rack backbreaker type maneuver for only 2. Back on their feet and Crush with a bearhug. Shawn fights his way out but gets sent HARD into the corner ALA Bret Hart selling. Body Scissors by Crush is applied to slow down Shawn and take a breather from this match. Crush scoops up Shawn and connects with a backbreaker. To the top rope goes Crush but he misses a knee drop and both men are down now. Shawn works the leg and goes for a body press but gets caught, but Marty from the top rope gives him enough leverage and Shawn scores the upset pinfall at 7:18. *1/2. Nothing much here. -Tugboat vs. Earthquake (w/ Jimmy Hart): This match is NOT from the Supertape series. Vince Mcmahon on commentary with Roddy Piper. Lockup and Tugboat with a standing side headlock on Quaker Oats and a shoulderblock goes nowhere, as usual. Quake with the headlock and repeat. Clothesline by Quake lays Tugboat out and Quake steps all over his face like a tap dancer. In the corner, Earthquake with some weak offense. Running clothesline again puts Tugboat down and EQ with a chokehold. Tugboat fights back and connects with an avalanche splash and a clothesline ties up quake in the ropes. Tugboat goes for Hart who drops his megaphone, and Quake uses it to level Tugboat, for the DQ at 3:24. Quake with a series of elbow drops and gives him the Vertical Splash. DUD -Full Nelson Challenge: British Bulldog Vs. The Warlord: Not Really a match, here. If you seen one of these, the same thing occurs in each of them. Warlord teases to lock it on Bulldog, then Bulldog attack Slick allowing Warlord to beat the shit out of him and lock the full nelson on. Bulldog fights out and gives Slick a running powerslam afterwards. NR. -Jake "The Snake" Roberts Vs. Kato of Orient Express (w/ Mr. Fuji & Tanaka): Cut in Progress: Fuji nailed Roberts with his cane, and soon after Tanaka gets in a few cheap shots as well. Jake gets back in finally and Kato with a scoop slam and elbow drop for a 2 count. Rear chinlock by the fake Japanese superstar follows soon after. Jake breaks out and lays into Kato with a series of stiff left jabs. short arm clothesline by Roberts connects and Jake signals for the DDT. Tanaka runs in and gets a cheap shot behind the refs back and Kato back to work with some chops. Jake avoids a slam and scores a DDT, but Tanaka runs in for the DQ at 2:29. Jake fights everyone off and nails a clothesline on Tanaka. Jake whips out Damion and chases off Mr. Fuji with it. 1/2*. -Wrestlemania VII Report! Live on Pay-Per-View! Hulk Hogan vs. Sgt. Slaughter for the World Wrestling Federation Championship. Ultimate Warrior vs. "Macho King" Randy Savage in a career ending match, Virgil vs. "million dollar man" Ted Dibiase, Big Bossman vs. Mr. Perfect for the Intercontinental Title. Dino scoops up Valentine and slams him, but misses a series of elbows and Hammer with an atomic drop and kicks to the knee. Running Elbow by Hammer and he does a little jerking of the right leg of Dino Bravo. Headbutt to the midsection and goes for the figure four but Earthquake runs in at 1:35, and lays a few shots on him. Bravo and Quake with several elbow drops on Valentine but The Mariner (Run-in Man) hammers away at Earthquake with a series of chops and a huge headbutt, knocking him out. DUD. -ANOTHER Wrestlemania VII Report. Nothing New. I neglected that Regis Philbin, Alex Trabek, and Marla Maples would be celebrity guests. Willie Nelson was also announced to sing the national anthem. -"The Dragon" Ricky Steamboat Vignette shown, including the fireball breath of doom. -Footage of The Mariner attacking Earthquake again laying him out with a Headbutt, then he chases Jimmy Hart to the locker rooms. -Shawn Michaels vs. Kato of the Orient Express: This is from an MSG Event joined in progress. Clipped to Kato applying a nerve pinch to Michaels. LOOOONG NERVE HOLD. Kato with several two counts with the hold. Shawn starts no selling and drives a few elbows to the midsection and drops Kato with a bionic elbow into the back. Kato puts the boots to Michaels in the corner and scores a few rights. Corner rush misses and Kato gets posted with his legs wrapped around the post. Shawn fights back and scores an inverted atomic drop and a clothesline. Michaels with a series of roundhouse rights and a spinning elbow and crescent kick. Shawn to the top rope and he comes down with a flying elbow drop for only 2. Michaels with an Irish whip and scores a Roll up for 2, but its reversed for 2 also. Michaels off the ropes but he gets tripped up. Sunset flip by Michaels for no count. Marty & Fuji distract the referee as Michaels goes for a backslide but Tanaka uses the cane to knock Shawn silly and Kato gets the upset victory at 3:51. *1/2. UGH. -That ends this tape. Boy, what Crap WWF produced on Television in 1991. Not the warm up Rant I had in mind at all.
