I thought the match was very good, but what else can Dreamer do, he can't just go out and have some gimmick/weapon match every week without becoming very repetitive. I don't think that this will be a gimmick match thing. I think the gimmick was just there this week to show that he will bust his ass and still come out on top. He can have perfectly exciting "wrestling" matches without the foreign objects. I think his thing will just be that he's the epitome of Extreme. Remember, the whole thing about Extreme, was that they were famous for putting on hardcore brawls.. but they were also famous for some of their technical masterpieces.. back when Benoit was there. Tommy Dreamer is a much better wrestler than Maven! Maybe Dreamer should have tried to get on Tough Enough to get into the WWE. Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted July 16, 2002 ...Just a thought fellas. Bischoff coming in could actually Help Tommy Dreamer. I'm trying my best NOT to do a Fierro here, but listen up. Dreamer has a few more matches to establish his hardcoreness, getting bigger pops each time out. Now that Bischoff is in charge of the Raw brand, which includes Heat, they can film a backstage segment with Raven & Bischoff. Bischoff tells Raven that the last time he saw him was in a production meeting where he called him on his bluff, walked out on him and went back to ECW. He tells him that he gained his respect that night and wants him back on Raw. Raven's first action is to take out Dreamer, for keeping him off of Raw and they can start their feud up again. Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted July 17, 2002 If the WWE had nothing to do with all the former ecw guys besides, RVD, then they should have been used to center the hardcore belt around from the moment they were signed. That is the good thing about those guys, is they don't necessarily need a shopping cart full of weapons to make their match hardcore. They show emotion in their matches, the make the matches more "intense" then a roid raged Triple H interview, and they all basically have enough history between them, that if WWE ever needed to tap into it to help get them over it could be easily done. So I hope this one GOOD garbage match isn't the last. The bump Dreamer took from the Stevie-kick totally reminded me of ECW-style stiffness. Dreamer sacrificed himself in order to entertain the crowd, and there was no weapon involved in that bump. Also, the singapore cane shot to Stevies head/face was just brutal, and it was totally built up to throughout the match. They basically showed that it was gonna take something like that to pin the other one.
