Guest Redhawk Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Taken from WWE.com: "After thinking about it for a minute, [Eric Bischoff] decided that Show deserved the match against The Book this Sunday. After Show left, a smiling Bischoff began to watch the new Triple H DVD." "RAW went off the air with a smiling Bischoff happily relaxing in his office, obviously fantasizing about Triple H and The Rock joining his RAW brand!" I missed RAW. Someone tell me that they didn't really have Bischoff watching a HHH DVD in the middle of the show he's supposed to be running.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Yup, he did.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 16, 2002 The logic there is that Bischoff feels that HHH would have single handedly saved WCW and won the ratings war
Guest Nezbyte Report post Posted July 16, 2002 The logic there is that Bischoff feels that HHH would have single handedly saved WCW and won the ratings war Exactly. It MADE sence. Is that what everyone CLAMORS for around here? Hot damn, they make sence and you still have to hate something.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I believe Bishoff was talking about Taker when he would have saved WCW. Right after his promo he confronted Taker and told him how big a fan he is.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I believe Bishoff was talking about Taker when he would have saved WCW. Right after his promo he confronted Taker and told him how big a fan he is. No, he was talking about HHH, how can you not realize that?
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Bleh, I don't blame him for watching the DVD. Its got Flair/Steamboat!

Well, watching the DVD made sense in context with what he said, but syaing that HHH would have singlehandedly won the ratings war bacvk then is an asinine statement. Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I didn't think the HHH comment made sense either. I was sure he was talking about one of Austin/Undertaker/Michaels/Rock.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Bleh, I don't blame him for watching the DVD. Its got Flair/Steamboat! Well, if he was watching THAT part of the DVD THEN I'd be happy, lol.
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted July 16, 2002 He said he wanted Triple H on Raw, not that Triple H was the one guy he thought could've kept WCW in business. That guy was the Undertaker. ... I think. Damn, I wish I had taped it.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted July 16, 2002 The logic there is that Bischoff feels that HHH would have single handedly saved WCW and won the ratings war I swear to god I think that was the swerve and it was really The Rock he was talking about.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 16, 2002 He SAID Triple H right after "The one guy who could have saved WCW" Maybe I need to watch it again.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted July 16, 2002 No, he was talking about HHH, how can you not realize that? He said he wanted Triple H for RAW. When he was talking about that "one man", he was talking about the Taker.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 16, 2002 *sigh*, am I the only one who got that he was speaking of HHH?
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I'll watch it again, but I'm SURE he was talking about Taker. He went up to Taker right after his promo and said how big a fan he was over the years, ect.
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Not only did he say what a big fan he was, I'm pretty sure he said to Taker "You were the one guy I always wanted to sign, but... loyalty, I know, I understand..." somesuch somesuch.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 16, 2002 My God, I suppose Downhome must "prove you wrong! The following is an excert of Bishoff's in-ring rant... "And it's going to start right here on RAW, and we're going to kick it off this Sunday at Vengeance. Because there was one thing that I really wanted to do when I was running WCW, never got the job done, one piece of talent that I could never sign away. Just one. And I am absolutely convinced...absolutely convinced that if I had been able to sign him, then right now today Nitro would be on the air and Vince McMahon, my new best friend with all due respect, would be working for me. But that's ok. Because it's not going to be the nWo that signs Triple H, nuh-uh, that would be me. And for all of the rest of you in the back, some of you I've had the chance to work with, some of you I'm meeting for the very first time, one thing I'm sure you'll all agree on is people generally like working for me." ...now, is he STILL talking about 'Taker? :) I don't know about Bishoff, but I seem to remember HHH being IN WCW and he ended up FIRING him! Like I said in the thread I started just now, I wish HHH would "remind" Bishoff of that little detail!
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted July 16, 2002 You're missing the point. Maybe smarks will break it down and figure out that he was saying he always wanted Taker, but WWE's own website clearly states that Bischoff is a HUGE Triple H mark. I mean, why the hell would he be watching a HHH DVD during his first day on the job, in the middle of the show? And as the show goes off the air, he's fantasizing about a guy who's not even on his show.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 16, 2002 from WWE.com's Raw report "Bischoff said that his first priority was to sign the one person that he knew would have single-handedly put WWE out of business -- Triple H!"
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Maybe we're looking at this incorrectly, guys... Maybe it IS Triple H, the guy who he says would've kept WCW on the air... He couldn't sign him from the WWE to WCW, so now he's going to sign him from SD! to Raw. The backstage segment with Taker, along with him sucking up to Triple H, along with him sucking up to the Rock, is him just trying to shmooze his way in with all the mainstays. Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted July 16, 2002 It was Triple H he was talking about, but the whole statement doesn't make sence. He wanted the no-heat blueblood more than Micheals, Hart and Taker? HAHAHA!
Guest GenerationNever Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Damnit, why did HHH have to be born?
Guest jester Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I was pretty sure he was talking about Triple H too, and downhome's posting of the speech seems to leave little room for interpretation. The speech would have made sense if it was the Rock. Triple H was also on WCW briefly, and wasn't the Undertaker as well? I mean, not as Undertaker, but Mark Calloway did wrestle there, right? One of the things they usually say when they slam WCW is that they had a lot of guys they never did anything with, and the WWF turned them into superstars. jester
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I'm positive Bischoff said the same thing to Undertaker backstage, "You were the one guy I wanted," or something. Downhome! GO WATCH IT! And if he did, I'm guessing he's just sucking up to them all, and really couldn't care less about them. Because he started doing the same thing with The Rock. Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted July 16, 2002 But after his promo, Bishoff ran into Taker in the back and said: "Hey I've really wanted to meet you. I've been following your career. You're the one guy that I was really hoping I could get to come to WCW but I guess because of loyalty......." But if he was talking about HHH, then that's retarded.
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Like I said, he was saying that to/about both HHH and Taker, and probably will say it to The Rock (he called him, remember). He's just shmoozing.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Triple H shouldn't be on that list. Does anyone think that singing Triple H would have single handedly made WCW win the ratings war?
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Rock shouldn't have made that list either, remeber Rock in 1996?
