Guest Redhawk Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Again, you're looking too deep into the Undertaker/HHH/Rock question. Because in all honesty, Stone Cold was THE guy who would have won the ratings war for WCW hands down. Anyway, the fact is that WWE.COM -- the company's primary shilling machine -- is saying that the man in charge of RAW fantasizes about Triple H and watches his DVDs during a time when he should be tending to his new show. Usually when guys are watching TV backstage, they're watching RAW or Smackdown, not a DVD dedicated to one specific wrestler. Put it like this: Do you think that Smackdown's GM will be watching "Break the Walls Down" on Thursday?
Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Triple H shouldn't be on that list. Does anyone think that singing Triple H would have single handedly made WCW win the ratings war? Not in the slightest. And for the record, I always thought Bischoff was referring to HHH, even though it makes no sense.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted July 16, 2002 The Smackdown GM will be watching the Triple H DVD just like Bishoff did. Everyone loves the game. [/sarcasm]

At least he wasn't playing cards or Video games.
Guest TheBlurricane Report post Posted July 16, 2002 It was Triple H he was talking about, but the whole statement doesn't make sence. He wanted the no-heat blueblood more than Micheals, Hart and Taker? HAHAHA! I think what ya'll are missing is in 96 WCW didn't need saving. Bischoff is referring to needing HHH in 99-00 when WCW was sinking. That would then make sense for Rock and Taker too.
Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted July 16, 2002 HHH wouldn't have saved WCW in 2000 either.
Guest Gendo Report post Posted July 16, 2002 The whole thing that is rubbing me wrong about the HHH thing is that I get a scary feeling that someone in the WWE is thinking he is going to be the savior of RAW. Even before the Bischoff stuff last night we had the NWO trying to make him join them and now we have Bischoff doing the same thing. I am thinking it is a pretty safe bet HHH will return on RAW and since he has made everyone on Smackdown look like trash while not getting himself over again he can now work his magic-uh on the Raw roster. I am so excited that I will most likely get to see RVD, Benoit, and Booker trounced. Yay!

Guest Nezbyte Report post Posted July 16, 2002 HHH wouldn't have saved WCW in 2000 either. I disagree, he would've had tons of great workers to ... work with. Depending on my memory there'd be: Benoit, Malenko, Jericho, Flair, Hart, Steiner, Goldberg, Gurrero, Rey Jr and anyone else they could get from Japan or Mexico. No, Benoit/Jericho/Malenko/Guerrero were all in WWE by the end of January 2000. And 1 man couldn't save the Titanic if it were sinking.

Guest Razor Roman Report post Posted July 16, 2002 It's obvious it's Triple H. It was going to be NWO bringing HHH to Raw, but instead it will be Bischoff brining him over. See that? Booker T gets screwed because the nWo fell apart, but they hire Eric Bischoff just so Triple H's angle doesn't get scrapped! When Bischoff was talking to Undertaker, he probably meant to say "You were one of the guys I always wanted for RAW, but, loyalty, blah blah..." Chalk it up to nerves
Guest BobbyWhioux Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I think the people in this thread may be looking at this from the wrong perspective. It seems that people are questioning "why would Bisch say Triple H could've saved WCW? That doesn't make sense because this and this and this..." REMEMBER WHERE BISCHOFF SAID THIS! He didn't say it during a dirt sheet interview. He didn't say it on his personal website. He didn't say it on Byte This, or Confidential (not that you can believe what you see on Confidential) but he said it ON RAW. I.E. he said it in character, now, in 2002. The function of the statement is to establish that Bischoff -- GM of RAW -- wishes to acquire a Smackdown guy in Triple H for his show. It's to establish Bischoff the character and said character's motivation / aim. It's a WORK, people. We're going into sci-fi geek mode about this and losing sight of the forest for the sake of the trees. The real world doesn't have shit to do with this. It's a storyline. And the storyline is that evil Eric wants to steal people from Vince's show (smackdown is Vince's show until the "new gm" is named). Sure, it builds on a "real" situation, i.e. Eric Bischoff used to "steal" people from Vince as owner of WCW back in the day. But it's a storyline written for now, 2002. Telling the truth about the past or fostering accurate, plausible theories about the past IS NOT what this is about. Don't forget that.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 17, 2002 "Exactly. It MADE sence. Is that what everyone CLAMORS for around here?" I'm skipping the rest of the thread to respond to this lunacy. HHH could have saved WCW? NO. By the time HHH was worth anything (which wasn't until early 2000 in terms of draw) not only was Eric not in charge of WCW at that point (Russo was) but HHH left WCW in the first place under Eric's watch! IT didn't make sense. Not even a little bit.
Guest TheSmarkzone Report post Posted July 17, 2002 And it doesn't make sense because Bischoff had him and he let him go.
