Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 Seeing a 50 year old legend against a 29 year old superstar and future legend just doesn't peak my interest. If magicially we could have Hogan from 1987 than it might be different. IMO, a dream match is wrestlers facing each other at their peaks. But I'm in the minority so what I say doesn't really matter. I'm not forking over 50 bucks...mostly because I can't afford it.
Guest Anglesault Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 No, it doesn't matter. Next.
Guest RickyB Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 Because Hogan/Rock will draw bigger numbers than any other possible match (other than possibly Austin/Hogan). BTW - Hogan is 48, not 50.
Guest benoitrules2000 Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 This is gonna be one of the worst matches of all time, but everyone on here raves about it as if it's the greatest thing ever. Yes, It's technically a dream match but as my buddy vern pointed out a real dream match is when both men are at their peaks of popularity and ability which hogan is most certaintly not and quite frankly i can't stand the rock and got immense personal satisfaction from watching the nwo beat the shit out of him, it was flashes of the old classic nwo...almost.

Nothing you've said has led me to believe that you're capable of experiencing immense personal satisfaction. If you were personally satisfied by it, then why complain ceaselessly just because it appears as though other people enjoyed something? Reading through all of these threads has led me to a conclusion: Half of the people on this board say shit just to ensure that no one else can enjoy anything that happens. People start praising Hogan/Rock and the smark's knee-jerk reaction is to say, "It sucks! He's old! Where's Benoit?" It's sad, quite frankly.
Guest joshicho Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 It's gonna be cool though to see them face to face in front of 60,000 fans though. The match won't be all that good but in the same way Andre-Hulk wasn't very good, it will be memorable
Guest Tony149 Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 Of course there match is going to suck, but this is something most people never thought they'll see. What should of happened during the WCW invasion is now happening. The marks & a lot of smarks will enjoy the match, even if it sucks.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 Wrestlemania III gave us Steamboat/Savage to keep us happy. What does Wrestlemania XVIII give us?
Guest suckfreecomix Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 We get nothing and like it.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 We get nothing, but I don't like it.
Guest Brian Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 Who knows how the main event will turn out? For all you know Triple H could be mailing in all his performances so far just to make sure he's 100 percent? We're guaranteed something on the mid-card since it's four hours long, so I'm looking forward to that. Pluss all the build-up should be entertaining.
Guest Carbon Tiger Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 I myself said more then likely the match will suck. However if they play up both wrestlers strength in cutting promos the lead up will be very watchable. Hopefully they can infuse the match with enough meaning and emotion to bypass the match itself. (see Andre vs. Hogan) That and I've been waiting 3 years for someone to shut the Rock up and it made me very happy to see somebody finaly do it.
