Phil Schneider's Workrate Report

What Worked

-Eddie Guerrerro looked really good in that six-man tag, and I love the idea of a Regal/Beniot/Guerrerro six man group. The rest of that match is down below

-My Guess for Smackdown General Manager ...David Crocketts mummified corpse

-Tommy Dreamer as a east coast ECW nostaligia act is a fine use of him. It is better then Tommy Dreamer eating funny stuff, but not as good as “selling the arm on Heat” Tommy Dreamer. That singapore cane match was a fine bloody brawl which is just as good as it would have been as a semi-main in the arena in 1996. Plus we didn’t have to Francine’s angel wing shoulder blades at ringside.

-My Guess for Smackdown General Manager... Melanie Pillman

-I have sporadically enjoyed Eric Bishoff as a heel. He does have a great smarmy charisma. I got sick of him quick in WCW and I am sure I will get sick of him quick in WWE, but I kind of enjoyed this in the live version of a Vince Russo 1wrestling interview. You really needed to bring in Okerland to play the felching Dave Scherer role though. Bishoff really looked paunchy, he needs to Botox ASAP.

-My guess for Smackdown General Manager... Bob Ryder (Which was my immediate vocal response to Shane calling the commissioner a parasite)

-Molly Holly v. Trish probably had the best match of their endless series. Stiff, nice bumps, good counters, this was a better match then Lioness Aska v. Mariko Yoshida from ARSION.

My Guess for Smackdown General Manager...Antonio Inoki (Although HHH won’t let him slap Vince)

-For three guys I don’t care for and an aged Ric Flair, that was one heck of tag match. Smart to keep Van Damn out of the ring, huge corner bump by Lesner, nice punches by Flair (and a suplex!!), hard working Undertaker and a hot finishing sequence. It is hard to imagine this combo doing better.

-My Guess for Smackdown General Manager... Cyrus (You might as well blame TNN for the bad ratings..maybe he could be Velocity General Manager)

What Didn’t Work

-That six-man came damn close to Jeff Hardy running the gauntlet on my three favorite wrestlers, and most of the work in that match looked bad. Bubba especially looked ugly, man do I hate the idea of Beniot and Guerrerro in a tables match

-If you are trying to sell Nowitski as a intellectual, having him lay down in front of Bradshaw isn’t the way to do it.

-My Guess for Smackdown General Manager...L Brent. Bozell

-Big Show grace period is over, I hated every single thing about that mess of a match. Hey an Iverson reference how abou racist WWE booking Booker T as a face no longer as a dumb jigaboo, but instead a dangerous out of control gangsta.

-We all know it is going to be Russo, enjoy Dean.

For the first time in a long time, I actually thought Jeff Hardy held his own last night.

I don't know, I personally didn't like anything that lead into the pins and though they should have been reversed, logically.

Can Cyruss walk out with the phone headset, pretending to talk to Vince?

They kept RVD out of the ring because (being the most over guy in the match) he was the person best capable of handling the "hot" tag.

That being said...RVD was on fire last night.

Anyone who can't see the improvement is lying...or trying REAL hard to show how anti-RVD they are.
