That's real convenient for people who don't live in New York City. I live 15 miles from the city, and even I'm not gonna drive to The World for a fucking DVD.

I used to buy every DVD release, now I'm only gonna buy the pay-per-views that really rock. I guess it's back to VHS recordings for me...

You know what, fuck 'em. They haven't put anything out this year that is worth buying anyway.

I'll put my money toward NWA-TNA or ROH or something where the wrestling product doesn't suck.

So they want us to pay $34.95 for the pay-per-view and then another $30 for the DVD edition. Fuck that.

So let's get this straight:

Now you can't buy WWE DVDs at any video stores or retail stores.

Now you can't buy WWE DVDs from any Internet stores except Shopzone.

Now you can't RENT WWE DVDs from video rental stores.

Now you have to pay $8 shipping and tax if you want to purchase a WWE DVD.

Now you can only purchase WWE DVDs if you have Internet access and a credit card.

Even when they were charging $40 for VHS tapes of Big 5 events, at least you could go to the mall and buy it or to Blockbuster and rent it.

This is a terrible idea.

TERRIBLE.

Especially since I was about to stop ordering ppvs...and wait the 6-8 weeks to get them at Best Buy.

Fuck the WWE...one more reason to hate.

They're really shooting themselves in the foot here.

Now I have run out to get those HHH and Foley DVDs before they're all gone.

Not selling in stores seems to work ok for Dell computer...

This is just bad business. Making people go out of their way to get a substandard product is just a ludicrous concept on all levels. If anything they should be cutting prices by a couple of bucks and increasing the volume of DVDs get the product out to as many new customers as possible.

Dell computers are a major purchase and their business is booming.

A DVD is not a major purchase and WWE is in no position to jack up prices or make their merchandise Shopzone-exclusive.

The worst part is that they also upped the price for the ppvs themselves.

So now you pay more to see it live...and pay more to own it on dvd.

Good lord...imagine what they'd do if the product was good.

Also Dell computers runs about 5000 commercials a day so they are getting the word out to many new customers a day. The only place to find out about shopzone is on WWF programming which has been dwindling so making your product exclusive to the form of distribution that reaches the fewest people is just mindboggling.

Does it actually say all of that or did you just come up with it when you saw that they said JD 2002 was only at Shopzone?

"Dell computers are a major purchase and their business is booming."

I know that, I own one (which I bought online) :) . What I'm saying is that there are many businesses who have gone the "internet exclusive" route recently with either some or all of their products. It's been shown to work at varrying levels and so while it might not be the best idea for WWE, the way people are going on about it here you'd think they made an unprecedented, catastrophic business decision.

HHH: "See Vince...look what happened! The last 3 dvds that sold well were MINE, the ppv where I won the title and the ppv that I lost the title. Obviously I am the only draw in the company. People didn't want to own our product after the title was taken off of me!"

Whoever the moron is that came up with this idea has no business sense.

They are thinking, "Okay, business is down so we'll increase our DVD profits by making them exclusive to Shopzone so that everybody has to pay the list price of $24.95!"

It doesn't take an idiot to figure out that you'll make more money if 1,004 people buy your DVD for $15 off of buy.com or for $24.95 at the mall than if 12 people buy your DVD for $24.95 plus a ludicrous $8 shipping/tax fee off your Web site.

Well, this does suck quite a bit...if it's true.

BUY.com has Judgment Day 2002 listed as being available 12/31/03

Amazon and BUY have KOTR already up for preorder slated for an 8/20/02 release along with a Hogan DVD. My question is what the hell will they do with the people who already preordered if the WWF won't distribute to them? Maybe they're doing just with this one to "test the waters" of stupidity, but who knows?
