Guest Doomsault Report post Posted July 17, 2002 Which models of GI Joes do you think were better designed, the old school or the newly released wave of GI Joe action figures? Me and my brother are capitalizing on the collector's value of the new ones, I'm not gonna make the same mistake twice and lose these to casulties of: lawnmowers, extreme heights, crotch breaks, misplacement, being crushed by rocks in "landslides", or wear and tear. Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted July 17, 2002 Someone finally brings up actions figures. Bless you. I have to say that the old 80s GI Joe figures rocked balls. Of course the best feature of them was their poseability. As well as fitting almost perfectly in my Hasbro WWF ring. The vehicles kicked ass just as much. Mine wore out, and the band that held them together broke on a lot of them unfortunately. (including my Cobra Commander figure ) I'm glad the new ones are staying true to thier predecessors, but I don't like the limited movement in the crotch area. It's just not right. So I'm sticking with my old ones.

Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted July 17, 2002 I had them wrestle, too. Destro was the monster heel. Mutt (the guy who came w/ a dog) was the face champ.

Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted July 18, 2002 nah, I used Mutt. He had the black glove thingy (because of the dog), so that would be his finisher (forearm w/ that glove). I think I used Duke for IC.

Guest Daredevil21 Report post Posted July 18, 2002 Good to know that I wasn't the only one choosing to have my G.I. Joes do piledrivers opposed to shooting others. Once I realized my wrestlers were worth something, I stopped playing with those, bought Joes and started using them as wrestlers. I always liked the beat up ones since I didn't feel so bad for playing with them. They were more fun to play with anyway. I still have a ton of Joes set up in a ring in my room, and I even bust them out once in a while and kill 20 minutes. Ah, to be a kid again.
