Guest MrRant Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 Since Kinetic doesn't have the stones to start the topic ( ) .What do you think is the best and worst remix you have heard? PS. The topic thread was "Kinetic Isn't Man Enough", but I forgot to erase doens't.
Guest Flyboy Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 MrRant is holding me down~! It was my topic, damnit! Mine! Mine! *throws tamtrum* /Jericho mode Sorry about that. :-p
Guest Kinetic Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 Back when I was a big Nine Inch Nails fan, I bought what I presumed to be the "Perfect Drug" single. It turned out to be four or five totally unlistenable remixes without the original version to make it worthwhile. I still think that's the best song Reznor ever wrote and am still bitter about being screwed out of my hard-earned money like that. I was actually hesistant to start a thread about "Best/Worst Samples" but whatever. I like seeing my name in the sub-topic.

All of the Perfect Drug remixes get my vote and, in general, a lot of the nine inch nails remixes really slurp the piss bowl dry. I'm not sure exactly why Reznor insists on shoveling them out, but I guess that as long as Reznor's dealing with electronic angst, we'll have subpar remxes to look forward to. As far as the best re-mix goes, I really think the Romeo + Juliet "remix" of Radiohead's "Talk Show Host" did wonders for that song. It's possibly the only remix that I like better than the original song.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 I know there aren't too many Britney Spears' fans around here, and even though I'm not really a huge fan, I'll admit the "stop remix" of "U Drive Me Crazy" was much better than the original, and pretty awesome. The majority of remixes are unmemorable, because they just change the beat a little or extend it, particularly in dance/house tracks. I HATE when remixes go longer than the original song, because the majority of it is just filler. Though a few remixes are good, most are only memorable for how bad they are, like the NIN remixes.
Guest Incandenza Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 I can't think of any good remixes. That isn't to say all of them are bad--though most are--but none of them have ever struck anything in me. I generally view them as a waste of time.
Guest razazteca Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 I like the KMFDM remixes for White Zombie and Megadeth. NIN & Static X remix of Closer/Trance is the Motion that I found on P2P is pretty damn good in my opinion. I dont really like Aphrodite remixes Urban Jungle album was kind of a let down. the greatest remix of all time is Walk This Way by Run DMC & Aerosmith
Guest mesepher Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 the greatest remix of all time is Walk This Way by Run DMC & Aerosmith without that remix, Aerosmith would have been remembered as a decent band popular in the 70s fallen to alcoholism. damn. Nowadays, they're playing songs with brittney, although, the time is here once again for Aerosmith to REINVENT themselves once more, as they are on tour with Run DMC. Hey, it worked once, right?
