Interesting report from last night's SD taping

"John Cena beat Chris Jericho. Jericho got a huge ovation upon his entrance and received a face reaction from the Wilkes- Barre crowd throughout the match with Y2J chants prevalent. Cena was given a nice reaction but it was clear that most of the crowd was unfamiliar with him. The crowd popped immensely with flashbulbs going off all over when Jericho locked in the Walls of Jericho. The finish came out of the blue as the ref DQ'd Y2J for a low blow on Cena. (When was the last time that was done?) Jericho went nuts after the match and destroyed Cena with several chairshots. The beatdown was done very nicely and should come off well on TV. I wonder what the WWE will do with all the Pro-Jericho chants even after the post-match attack?"

 

It'll be very interesting to see if WWE cuts Jericho's face pops and the Y2J chants from the show on thursday...

Where were the tapings? If the tapings were in Canada, that might explain something....

I've only seen one report talk about this. People tend to overstate the reaction in their reports to the talent they like, and understate those they don't like. So, I'll wait and see....

 

Although I'd sure as hell cheer jericho when he walked out.

They will retape it with WWE employees in the first two rows. Cena will go over clean in 2 minutes and then beat down Jericho after the match. Unexplained HHH chants will occur. nWo, HHH, and Get Well signs for Kevin Nash will be all over the crowd.

At last week's taping jericho got more cheers than boos as well so this is not a one shot occurance.

If they want to keep Jericho heel, and those are their long term plans for him, shouldn't they in theory edit out his face pops? Either that, or just TURN him face. Either way, I fully understand why they would edit something like THAT out.

 

Now, when it comes to editing face pops when it's a FACE recieving them, now THAT is not right.

I really dont think they should be editing anything. We always say they should give the people what they want. If people want a face jericho make it happen then at this point they should be begging for a suggestion like this from the fans. This is a guy we want to cheer in a time when we don't cheer much so let us cheer him. That sounds logical to me.

I disagree, he is in the midst of a program with Edge, etc... and it just wouldn't make any sense at all right now to turn him face, or allow him to turn face. After his current programs are over, then they can give the fans what they want.

Actually they dropped the Edge program it looks like and he was last seen losing to Cena on last week's SD I don't think the world would be crushed to see a turn after that.

They didn't drop the Edge program. Vince gave took Jericho out of the once scheduled match with Edge at Vengence so Edge could tag up with Hogan to defend the tag straps against Storm/Christian. If anything, they are building the Jericho/Edge program, which I feel the next step will be taking Edge out of the match before it begins, leaving Hogan alone to drop the tag titles.

They should make Jericho a face but be like his character was when he first came in. The smartass heel that people cheered they don't need to follow the typical WWF logic of a babyface must have no character and spout catchphrases.

They cut most of Jericho's entrance to go to Mark Lloyd in the parking lot anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new GM. As for the finish, not much PRO JERICHO to be heard..

Jericho vs Cena doesn't look like it will be happening. So Jericho goes from a pretty decent sounding match with Edge to a ok sounding match with Cena to no match at all.

He'll probably interfere in the Tag Match costing Edge and Hogan the belts..
