Interview With Trish Stratus...

Recommended Posts

well that certainly enlightening how easy it is to contact them, not for them to respond but at least knowing where they are

what are these AIM names and who for?

I don't know that she is or isn't scared for her job GNever. But here she is rumor killing and nobody says anything. She is more credible than most of the internet because SHE IS ACTUALLY THERE. Unlike most of the 3rd and 4th hand rumors that the internet or sheets get a hold of. Are we assuming that she is saying what she said out of fear of her job or is she just bringing the truth?

Trish was truthful in every other question so why would we assume she's lying here

I would doubt that she was lying.. I believe she was telling the honest truth.

I don't want to assume that all the HHH rumors are lies and such, but I was pointing out that here is a credible source saying that one of the stories was blown out of proportion and it just seems like a lot of people who post on HHH don't want to acknowledge it. Oh well. Thanks Bob Barron and Flyboy for at least giving some recognition to the point I made.

Hey, when I came to the forum, my original thought was "WTF? An exclusive interview with a known wrestler on OUR SITE? That can't be..." and was immediately impelled to check it out. I must say, excellent job Rob and Bob (hey, that rhymed). It was very professional, and her answers were pretty interesting (I like how even she admitted that Molly's BUTT wasn't really that big). I agree that asking about the match with Jackie would be distasteful. Plus, what else could she say other than confirm what we all know - that the match was a mess?

I'm still a bit surprised she'd interview you over AIM though. Without revealing too much of my own ego, if I was a popular, famous wrestler, I'm not sure if I would spend that much time with a "random anonymous person" online. I hope you thanked her very much :)

Not to burst your bubble, but I highly doubt Trish would go on the record, even for an interview such as this, by putting down HHH and the such. With his power, and his leval in the company, that wouldn't be the best thing in the world to do. Hell, if I was her I'd say it was blown out of porportion as well.

Thanks evenflow- you're one cool person. Everytime I talk to her- I always thank her

I think the HHH thing was blown out of proportion as well. If it was revealed what newspaper Triple H read the HHHaters would be all over it.

But then where do we take rumor reporting and such? Do we take it as scripture? Do we take it with a grain of salt? With all this, the DA has thought of another thought provoking posts. Get ready folks. It'll probrably be up tommorrow.

You make a good point DA-

If we're skeptical of what Trish said, a WWE wrestler who would know then should we be skeptical of what Dave Scherer posts- a man who was not there for the speech or the aftermath

It very well could be, however, 1wrestling and many other sources with "inside contacts" have said that they had tons of guys inside WWE informing them that it was all true. Like I said, it isn't like Trish is going to just dog him and admit if anything like that was true, it would be putting her at risk.

You aren't getting my point, there is no way one can take her word on something like this when she is still in the company. She doesn't want to loose her job. Now if she recently left WWE and THEN said this, then we'd have reason to believe her more so.

I want to know who these insiders are becasue wouldn't they be fired if WWE knew that they were giving inside info?

Downhome brings up a good point, too...

Imagine SOMEHOW if Vince found out that Trish had dogged one of his top stars online.. in an interview the WWE didn't even allow (I think Trish did it just for being a super nice person)... you think Trish would be in good water?

Hmmm... I think not.

So then we are not to believe people who are there. Then I guess we are to put more validity in rumors from 3rd and 4th hand parties? Where do you draw the line? The bigger question will be asked tommorrow by the DA.

As the most popular women's wrestler out there right now, I sincerely doubt that Trish would get fired for such a minor comment, especially when "the insiders" are saying much worse. There really is no reason for her to lie, and really, what proof is there that any of "the insiders" are reliable sources?

No one will say who they are, as that would put their jobs in obvious danger, thus we'll never know while they are working in WWE, and more than likely not even after they leave.

I say believe Trish, honestly. Even AS a HHHater... I'm just sort of playing devil's advocate. :D

Most likely.

Or maybe they 'hate' the company so much that they are willing to give the dirt out on it without money and having their jobs on the line. Who knows?

First off, her being the most popular women's wrestler out there right now means next to nothing. These diva's are a dime-a-dozzen, and if she left someone else would just step into her posistion, no big loss at all. Anyhow...

...Meltzer, Scherer, etc... all have inside sources, and to think otherwise is insane. These are the means by which we get these early news stories, etc...

So then we are not to believe people who are there. Then I guess we are to put more validity in rumors from 3rd and 4th hand parties? Where do you draw the line?

Like I said, there is a difference in the "inside sources" and an interview by Trish made publicly viewable. For one, as Flyboy212EAW said before, she could get in trouble just be doing an unauthorized interview, but more than likely not. She did it, and said nothing "against" WWE. However, if she was to begin to go off on HHH, say that he DOES abuse power and the such then she would feel the aftershocks. She wouldn't be saying it about just anyone, but rather HHH himself. Now if HHH can seemingly hold down other talent for his personal gain...

...do you truly feel Trish f'n Stratus is oblivious to what he could do to her career? I think not, and that's that.

Or perhaps they just want the TRUTH out in the open in order to go against the "interviews" that everyone else does publicly saying everything is ok and "blown out of porportion". :P :P :P

Even though I'm not really a Trish Stratus fan (I like Molly better), she's not a dime-a-dozen women's wrestler. There are others who may be "hotter", but she's not only good-looking and the most popular, but like her or not she's the third best women's wrestler in the company. As Jackie Gayda showed us, it's not as easy to make a diva as you'd think.

Also, regarding insiders, since they obviously have no problem revealing company "secrets" and what not, who's to say they're NOT blowing everything out of proportion because they WANT us to hate the management because they do? It's immature but it's more often than not pretty likely.

I mean some of it is probably true, but to suggest that an anonymous insider is more trustworthy than an actual wrestler is crazy.

I think Trish is friends with HHH, since they have worked closely together in 2001, so maybe that impacted her answer.

I'm sorry, but Trish IS a dime-a-dozzen. She is a pretty face, with very basic wrestling talent, and that's it. I can go to any random indy fed and find other gals just like Trish with the same talents. She may be great, and hot as hell, but her as a Diva are simply plentified. If you want to talk about someone who is above the rest, it would be a Molly, etc...

Yes, sometimes the insiders may do so, but their tellings have lead to all of us getting the news that comes true. Besides that, Meltzer and Sherer both said that TONS of "insiders" emailed/contacted them about this HHH thing, it isn't a huge secret. These people are more than likely tired of the HHH stuff, and want the truth out, thus their annomynous (sp?) telling of what goes on.

Also, finally, of COURSE I trust an insider over an actual wrestler. For starters, many of these "insiders" ARE wrestlers, and various people in WWE whom take part in the product. Secondly, I do not just take some wrestler who works for the company's word for it when all they do is praise. It is obvious they are not being totally honest as they want to do the same thing we would, that being, keep our job. Trish dogging HHH could hurt her WWE career, and I'm sure she doesn't want something as simple as an AIM interview to get in the way of her profession. Also, as previously said, she is also good friends with HHH, which could be ANOTHER reason she would just make everything sound fine.

Cool interview...

I have Trish's AIM also and I've had several conversations with her... one that lasted about 45 minutes. It does depend on how you approach her... if you say something like "Dude, are you really trish stratus?" chances are, she'll block you. Afterall, her AIM profile says "No silly questions"

I just approached her naturally and began a normal conversation until she asked what I did for a living and I asked her.

btw- she liked my screen name, which was a factor in our first conversation, for my friends, she is a fan of Kevin Smith. So in my opinion, she is the PERFECT woman

Trish is telling the truth, from her perspective. Does she speak for everyone? Hardly. Other wrestlers had different opinions and made their voices heard by going to the dirt sheets.

I like Trish Stratus, but I can't agree with you there. If she rocks the boat, they will pitch her out. Just look at Chyna and Sable. The moment they didn't cooperate, they were booted off. And let us not forget the "other MSG Incident" and the "Other Screwjob"--Wendi Richter.

Even Trish admits that the women's division is there for the T&A. So they could easily find someone semi-athletic who is willing to run around in her underwear to replace her. I don't like it, I wish the women's division was run a little more seriously, but there it is.

As for the whole is she telling the truth here issue, who honestly can say? She might be telling the truth, but I don't think she could get away with saying the writing sucks like Austin could. It's really inclusive either way. As Downhome said, if she were with NWA TNA and said these things, it would be much more credible. But even then you could say "she doesn't want to burn any bridges."

My observation is that she gives a pretty safe interview here. She doesn't say anything negative, disarms any question that might produce dirt. Even JR I believe has admitted that Molly's fans had been flaming them about the ass jokes.

Ah well.

Great interview. I'm glad you expressed to her that you're not a fan of the "fat ass" angle.
