Spiderman 2 and 3

Personally I would like to see the lizard or Doc Ock in the next one.

But everyone knows Harry will don the GG armor and try and kill Spidey. Also, I think Peter and M.J will get enaged in the second one and married in the third one only to have it ruined by Harry or maybe Venom (oh that would kick ass)

I never followed the comic books or the TV Shows or anything, so I know very little.

But I'm hoping for Venom.

Posted

I say Doc Oc for the next movie. And venom for part 3.

Although, if they go with Venom for part 2, I say give us Carnage in part 3.

Imagine how awesome Venom/Carnage would look with some sweet CG?

There are rumors that it will be Doc Ock or Doc Ock AND Lizard.

I rather they not do Venom, i don't think they could do him justice.

Doc Oc and Lizard would be awesome.

I think they could do Venom justice, given the right actor to play Eddie Brock/Venom.

I never thought they'd be able to do Spidey/Parker justice, but I was wrong. They did a great job casting that movie.

I thought they picked a horrible actor for Spiderman - then I saw the movie. Changed my mind quick enough.

I'd never heard of Tobey Maguire before Spiderman came out... but he's practiacally perfect for the role. Just like Chris Reeve for Superman/Clark Kent.

Although, I think today's Clark Kent wouldn't be as dorky as Reeve's version. I think Dean Cain played a great Kent and an average Superman.

But that's a conversation for another thread... this is about spidey. =P

Is it just me or does Brock Lesnar looks like Eddie Brock?

I think it's you. I've never made that connection before

Venom isn't coming. He would look embarassing being all CG. Besides, they seem to be going the realistic route with the villians, which means Venom will be left out. There was some talk a few years ago of giving Venom his own movie, though.

Posted

I think, given enough of a special effects budget, they could do a great job with Venom. We'd need the CG though. If they're going to go the realistic route, Doc Oc would be the next logical choice for a villian.

Venom always looked too cartoonish to me. They would draw him as having huge, vein popping muscles, even though he didn't have muscles that big when being Venom.

You guys are forgetting about Harry getting his revenge.

True.... but I figured that we'd get a different angle for the next movie, and they'd pick up with the Harry Osbourne thing later on.

How many Spidey movies do you think we'll get? I say 3... maybe 4 but no more than that.

Your right they do have a lot of stuff to do.

There's a problem with Venom/Carnage...they would require an R-rating to do them justice. The Venom/Carnage on the Fox cartoon was shit, so I don't think it would work for a PG-13 movie that is aimed at both children and teenagers primarily.

They should just leave Venom and Carnage out of it for now. Venom does affect Peter Parker, but that's all away in the distant future after he marries MJ.

Does anyone think Norman Osborn will come back alive?

Guest GenerationNever

There is NO reason to bring in Venom and Carnage...ever.

I'd go with Doc Ock / Lizard for the first sequel, but they need to be VERY careful and not fall into the Batman trap by having too many villains in one film.

For the third film....I don't know. Maybe Electro. Or Vulture.

I'd mark out if one day we saw a Sinister Six flick. That's one case where I'd be up for multiple villains.

IF they do the Venom flick, it should be waaay down the line. They should have a handful of flicks under their belt before trying to tackle that character.

Sam Raimi confirmed Venom will NOT be in Spidey 2 in a Cinescape interview.

#3 might be a different story, who knows.

I'd be happy with just a Spider-Man trilogy, three films only.

It's already been confirmed that Doc Ock will be the villain in Spider-Man 2.

Well, in the comic books, I believe Harry took on the role of Green Goblin after his father died. I haven't read the comic books in years though, so forgive me if I got that wrong.

As for Doctor Octopus, I have no problems with that, as he seems "realistic" enough to be able to be done justice. Although I have to admit I was still a little disappointed in the end with Spiderman, I wouldn't mind seeing another one, as it's the perfect summer movie. Although I doubt it will fare very well not on the big screen though, it's just how summer movies are.

Well if he does, I hope Raimi reads the end of the Clone saga (Spider-Man #75?) to find out how NOT to do it...

WRT who's gonna show up in the movies, we've gone over this before, but looking again at Spidey's rogue's gallery...

- Doc Ock. Logical villain. Should work pretty well, so long as they don't kill him, which sets up for a potential Sinister Six story down the line if they stretch it out that far. Sam Neill is rumoured, and he'd work pretty well I suppose, but John Malkovich would kick ass here.

- The Lizard. Would work as a secondary villain, but not a major villain. Unless you do Spider-Man/Crocodile Hunter. The Jeckyll/Hyde aspect should be played up here.

- Black Cat. They could add her into 2, but you start getting into the "Batman Returns" syndrome where too much is going on to make a decent plot. Would almost certainly go to a relative unknown - my vote would be that Aussie chick from Power Rangers.

- Green Goblin II. This has GOT to be what they're building up to in Spidey 3 or 4. Hopefully we see Harry start going crazy, and finally snap when he finds out who Spider-Man is at the end of 2 or 3. But who wants to see continuity in movies, right?

- Kraven. What about Kraven? (sorry, couldn't resist) That could be interesting.

- Electro, Mysterio, Scorpion, Sandman, Vulture. Would work in a dual villain role, because they're not interesting enough to carry an entire movie by themselves. They'd probably work better if Spidey were a 1-hour tv show. BTW, there's 5 of your Sinister Six right there. Doc Ock or Goblin II can lead them,

- Smythe and the Spider-Slayers. Probably could work in a movie along with the Scorpion, but I don't see that happening.

- Venom. IF they decide to do Venom the Alien Costume Saga has to start with Spidey II - basically doing TAS plot where the symbiote attaches itself (herself?) to John Jameson's shuttle and then Spidey when he rescues Jameson.

- Carnage. Depends entirely on whether they do Venom or not. Plus that's R-rated stuff right there.

- Jackal & the Spider-Clone. Shyeah, right.

- Kingpin. Would be cool, but since another studio owns the DD rights, it ain't gonna happen.

- Rocket Racer. Um, no.

- Silver Sable. I can't think of any plausible way of sneaking her in here. At least one poster on the board would be happy though.

How about Silvermane? Because everyone wants to see the poor-man's Lex Luthor! :)

As far as people who DON'T suck, starvenger went over most of them, some other possibles could be:

Morbius: he'd work ok as a minor character.

The Punisher: this would be kinda sweet.

Hopefully I'm not totally killing the surprise/suspense here but actor Sam Neill of Jurrasic Park and Event Horizon fame has reportedly been signed to play Doc Oc on the 2'nd movie. All logic points to two things for the third movie:

#1- Venom vs Spidey

#2- Harry vs Spidey. This makes a bit more sense, as they could downplay the relationship between Peter and Harry during the second one and show bits and pieces of Harry preparing to exact his revenge on Spidey.

Spider-Man could feud with other Marvel bad guys if no one has the rights to them.

Dr. Doom would work.

Guest evenflowDDT

If they're going to do Dr. Doom, they might as well just officially release that Roger Corman's Fantastic Four that's been making the bootleg rounds for years... it'd be cheaper ;)

This is something I've discussed with friends whenever they said they would love to see Venom in a Spider-Man sequel. I said they'd probably never do it, unless they wanted to devote a portion of the movie to a Secret Wars setting, which is where Spider-Man acquired the symbiote. The only upside to this, I thought, is seeing some cameos by members of the Avengers, Fantastic Four and the X-Men.

Another friend suggested a more down-to-earth origin for Venom: the remains of the radioactive spider that bit Peter Parker is injected into the body of a prison convict, which gives him the ability to manifest the Venom costume.

Well, it's rumoured that Punisher may get another go-around - after all, how many people actually SAW the Dolph Lundgren Punisher? And Morbius is a better fit for Blade 3 as a new ally or whatever.
