Rock Candy, your friend's theory is similar to one of my own. I noticed that for the first time in any Spider-Man origin, the spider lived. I'm thiinking OsCorp (with Harry in charge) is looking for a way to destroy Spidey (as per Harry's orders) and creates a symbiote from their spider research that goes beserk.

Well, it's rumoured that Punisher may get another go-around - after all, how many people actually SAW the Dolph Lundgren Punisher? .

Me, about a thousand times

The thing this pissed me off about spiderman was that it didn't explore the psychological aspect of things, like Parker freaking out about how he should be helping people and how it's his fault when they die and stuff. The ending teased that, so i'd ike em to play off that side of things for the sequels. Less of that 'ayyy you mess with one New Yawker you messes with all of us' hollywood crap and more MIND GAMES~!

I, for one, marked out for that part. I'm willing to bet that a lot of people from NYC did also.

Doc Ock looks to be a lock for the second one, maybe with the Lizard. I think Harry should do a slow burn in the second movie, then really try to get his revenge on Spidey (and Peter) by donning the GG outfit in #3.

Venom would have to be totally reconceived. There's no way to do the Secret Wars in a Spider-Man movie, and that adds an element of ridiculous incredulity to the story. Not that the story of Spider-Man is believable in any way, but there are varying degrees of suspension of disbelief, and Secret Wars/Venom symbiote is on a different plane entirely.
