Hey guys, I'd like to see more classic **** or ***** star matches. Not the typical ones like Savage vs. Steamboat and Owen vs. Bret, but more less-known matches.

Can I get some help here?

Barry Howeritz Vs. King Kong Bundy.

There is a lot in Japan if you are intrested in Puroresu.

Spring Stampede 99 has an awesome Tag bout between Benoit/Malenko & Raven/Saturn, which is often forgotten about.

I'm not really into Japaneese style wrestling, but can you point me to some good origional Tiger Mask matches? I hear that guy is amazing.

well basically any of the Tiger Mask Vs Dyanamite Kid matches from the 80s coz its all good. For the modern version of the match Chris Benoit (Dynamite) Vs The Great Sasuke (TigerMask) from Super J Cup 94 is excellent.

Yea- Bulldog's press slam out of the ring was awesome. I think they could've done a better transition hold then a chinlock but other then that- fantastic match

Steve Austin vs. Owen Hart (SS 97)- Before the botched piledriver, the match was about to become a *****

Triple H vs. Owen Hart (WM 14)

Owen Hart/Bulldog vs. Furnas/LaFon (Final Four 97)

British Bulldog vs. Owen Hart (Euro Title Finals, February 1997)

Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart (Revenge of the Taker IYH, April 1997)- I was there and it was an awesome match with a somewhat lameish finish.

I HATE the ending to HHH-Owen. I love the match but the ending always just makes me so depressed and pissed off.

If Owen was to job he could've at least gotten his heat back

Ultimo Dragon Vs Rey Misterio Jr from WW3 96 was an amazing match that doesn't get nearly enough love as it should. Ultimo Dragon Vs Dean from the Clash 97 was great too. Benoit Vs Finlay from Slamboree 98 was a freaking great match that gets no love. I could go on all day when it comes to WCW matches. The one WWF matches that I really liked that doesn't seem to get enough credit is Piper Vs Hart from WM8.

How about Fall Brawl 95 with:

Johnny B.Badd vs. Brian Pillman (IMO *****)

and

Ric Flair vs. Arn Anderson (IMO the match is **** but seeing Flair wrestling Double A is beyond star ratings)

Great photo and caption Hitman.

The matches id recommend are very overlooked in my opinion.

HHH vs. Taz on a smackdown a couple of years ago. Its not good *'s wise, just entertaining to see these two in the ring together.

The Rock vs. Kurt Angle vs Taz on smackdown in Feb. 2000. The first time ever The Rock and Taz came to blows, also not a classic, but it will entertain the fuck outta ya. Is that possible? Oh well, enjoy!

Owen Hart and Yokozuna Vs. The Smoking Gunns at Wrestlemania XI. Yeah, Billy Gunn and Yoko are in it, but who cares, great work by all involved, and a funny match as well.

and finally Rey Mysterio Jr. Vs. Billy Kidman from a couple of years ago on a nitro. Great back and forth match-up that was tainted by a match up on a PPV later that month.

Rey Mysterio Jr vs Eddy Gurrero, Halloween Havoc 97

Mitsuharu Misawa vs Toashiaki Kawada, Triple Crown Exchange 94

Terry Funk vs Ric Flair, Great American Bash 89

Chris Benoit vs Great Sasuke, J-Cup 94

Ten Man Tag Match, Calgary Stampede

Bret Hart vs Roddy Piper, WM VIII

Kenta Kobashi vs Stan Hansen, All Japan Tokyo Dome show 97 (?)

Jushin Liger vs Great Sasuke, J-Cup 94

OK. Hitman...that's the coolest pic I've seen aside Dangerous A showing Misawa fucking BREAKING Kawada's neck with that German.

And Curry...you just listed about every fucking great match in the last thirteen years. Congrats. Oh, and putting Kawada and Misawa 6/3/94 as a match where it's a hidden classic? For shame...it's probably the greatest AJPW match of all time...and if that...greatest match ever.

OK. I still think my personal choices for the hidden classics are as follows.

MVC vs. Dustin Rhodes/Barry Windham-WCWSN-1993

Rhodes/Steamboat vs. The Enforcers-Clash XV

Rhodes/Windham vs. Steamboat/Douglas-Clash XII (?)

Michael Fucking Modest vs. Chris Fucking Daniels (Nitro, 1999) WHY SCOTT? WHY?

Cash vs. Jason Jett (EZ Money vs. Kid Kash)-Thunder-March 2001

And my personal fave: Chris Benoit vs. Al Snow-ECW-March 1995. Al Snow takes a HELLACIOUS ASS WHOOPIN IF YOU WEEEEEEL...and the match fucking rocks.

Ted DiBiase Vs Shawn Michaels (WWF's Hottest matches 1990) the match goes about 20 minutes and his about ****1/4 on my scale and has a hot crowd. I'd also recommend the Bret Hart Vs Owen Hart lumber jack match from Wham! Bam! Body Slam! not a classic compared to there other two matches but good on it's own scale( I have it rated at ***3/4).

Though I haven't seen the match in 6-7 years, I have very fond memories of Steamboat vs Austin from the Clash after Bast at the Beach '94. Too bad it ended up being Steamboat's last match though.

There is a very good Shawn Michaels vs Randy Savage match on some Coliseum Video from 1992 (I think it's on World Tour '92).

The Rockers vs the Brain Busters from the More Saturday Night's Main Event tape is Ab Fab.

Cactus Jack/Maxx Payne vs the Nasty Boys from Spring Stampede 1994 is an excellent garbage brawl. From the same show there was a surprisingly good Vader vs Bossman match (haven't seen it in a long while, but from what I remember, it was atleast ***½).

I second that Owen/Bulldog vs Furnas/LaFon match. Very good match, though it virtually has no heat. Stupid crowd .

Chris Benoit vs DDP from SuperBrawl of whatever year it was for the US Title was pretty good.

Sting vs Cactus Jack from Beach Blast 1992 is pretty damn good.

Ric Flair vs Vader from Starrcade '93 I thought was excellent, even with the weird finish.

Regal vs Fit Finaly from Uncensored 1996 is awesome.

I might as well recommend the original WarGames from the Great American Bash in 1987.

Midnight Express vs the Southern Boys from 07/07/1990. Which PPV was that?

I think that'll do for now.

Kenta Kobashi vs Stan Hansen, All Japan Tokyo Dome show 97 (?)

Actually the year of their great ***** match is 93, 2/28/93. One of the most brutal and realistic matches ever. Kobashi gets his eye blacked from a cowboy boot, takes a release powerbomb on the concrete floor, and gets one of stiffest lariats in history right across his face.

Also the All Japan Tag Matches are way better then the singles, and do to the much faster action are easier for a newbie to get into. Three ***** classics that come to mind.

Misawa/Kobashi vs. Kawada/Taue 12/3/93 One of the greatest glorified squash all time.

Misawa/Kobashi vs. Kawada/Taue 6/9/95 Kawada's revenage for the ass kicking he took the past two years at the hands of Misawa and Kobashi.

Misawa/Akiyama vs. Kawada/Taue 12/6/96 One of the deepest and most emotional mens matches of all time.

And I'am surprised that nobody mentioned Flair/Steamboat 89 matches, since the guy that started the topic didn't list them.

Also one of the most unnoticed great matches of all time Sting/Vadar GAB 92. Blows the overrated 93 Flair/Vadar match away.

Uh....Tim...do I detect a hint of sarcasm in that congrats? I never said anything about hidden, the thread topic was "Best Matches and Classics of All Time", nothing about hidden stuff. If you want "Hidden Classics" specify so in the topic. Just a question, aside from it being a killer spotfest, what made Jett vs Kash a classic? I have that match and as much as I love it there are a couple very noticeable errors in it.

It's just a personal mark-out moment for me.

Seeing those two pull out all the stops...two weeks before WCW packs it bags...really tells you what WCW could have done if they did stuff right...

Edit: MUTHAFUCKIN 500...BIOTCH~!

I'm also a huge Bulldog mark so I'm a bit biased

Nope. Thats not bias, the match really was THAT good.

eh, not really. i'm pretty lukewarm toward both the bulldog-hbk matches from 96. davey looked to be way out of shape, cause there was a whole lot of resting in both of them and they never really seemed to get the proper momentum going. they both hover around ** or *** i think, but that's just my opinion.

anyway, kickass matches that don't get a lot of mention:

bret hart/ric flair iron man match (come on, i did a rant on it, i have to pimp it). from a house show in boston and only available on a fan cam, so almost NOBODY has seen it, but i wouldn't hesitate to put it in the top 5 matches i've ever seen in my life.

bret hart/diesel, rumble and survivor series 95. both are pretty great matches, but survivor series is better.

steve austin-shawn michaels/hart foundation, 97 raw. a little short, but very fast-paced & one of the best raw matches ever.

bret hart/shawn michaels, survivor series 92. great match, criminally overlooked.

bret hart/undertaker, one night only 97. see above.

here's a few that I can think of:

shawn michaels vs. undertaker (ground zero)

bret hart vs. the patriot (ground zero)

hhh/road dogg/billy gunn/savio vega vs. steve austin/owen hart/ken shamrock/owen hart (no way out 1998)

hhh vs. owen hart (wrestlemania 14)

the rock vs. ken shamrock vs. mankind (breakdown)

Steiners vs. Owen and Bret (****3/4) I just can't give it a perfect score simply because of the finish but it's still my favorite tag match of all-time.

I just saw this one again last night...it's not really a HIDDEN classic since a lot of people on this board have seen it (and loved it) but good luck trying to find it unless you have an excellent video store somewhere near ya...it's on Coliseum Video's WrestleFest 94

Best part of the match: Steiner Screwdriver~! on Owen...AWESOME!
