Guest kingkamala Report post Posted July 18, 2002 The last WCW show I went to went to was on May 19, 1998 and was the only time WCW ever went to the Cumberland County Civic Center in my hometown Portland, Maine(They never went here before or after cause Portland's was a major WWF city). WCW came for a four hour WCW Saturday Night Taping headlined by a triple main event of Dean Malenko Vs Chavo Guerrero for the WCW Cruiserweight Title( ), Chris Benoit Vs Booker T in match 3 of there best of seven series ( ) and Konnan Vs The Giant ( ). Attendance wasn't very good I'd say about 5-6000 in a 9000 seat arena (But they blocked off about 2000 seats to make room for the set/make the arena look full). Guest Diesel Report post Posted July 18, 2002 1993 house show at the Skydome. The only time I remember WCW coming to Canada in the early 90's.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted July 18, 2002 May 15, 1998 in Bangor for a House Show. Main event was Nash/Giant. Also on the card, DDP/Raven, Goldberg/Saturn, and that's all I can remember. It was ok.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted July 18, 2002 I never was able to go to a wcw show, mainly because of where I live. they did come to vancouver, which is still a few hour trip, for their new blood rising PPV but I'm glad I didn't go to it. goldberg "SHOOTING" all over russo would have made me walk out or at least try to climb into the ring and clear everything up. Guest JAxlMorrison Report post Posted July 18, 2002 It was a house show in Philly and I can't really remember the dates. It was a few months before Chris Jericho made his WWF debut tho, because there was a kick ass tag match betweem Jericho/Guerrero and benoit/Malenko. Also on the card, I think, was a match between Saturn and Fit Finlay. Honestly, everything else is a blur.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted July 18, 2002 a Thunder @ Providence Civic Center I think Bisch came down from the ceiling on a motorcycle and Bret and Hogan teamed up against somebody..i dont even remember it was so horrible (and i have a photographic memory from every other wrestling show I ever attended - that tells you how bad it was)
Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 18, 2002 1998 house show in San Angelo, Texas. Ernest Miller got instant heat by saying its great to be in this hick redneck town San Antonio, Dave Penser then corrected him. Booker T, Wrath, Kanyon, Steve Mongo McMichael were also there. Guest O.J. Hart Report post Posted July 18, 2002 I went to one WCW show ever. It was when i went down to visit my relatives in Beaumont, Texas, in 1996. They suprised me and showed me we had 3 tickets for a house show with me and my 2 older cousins going. It was at the very small Beaumont Civic Center and we were only 1 row off the floor(there were about 5 rows on the floor). Results: Konnan defeated V.K. Wallstreet Alex Wright defeated Terry Taylor(not advertised in program) Bubba Rogers defeated John Tenta Eddy Guerrero defeated Chris Benoit WCW Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio jr. defeated Dean Malenko INTERMISSION Public Enemy defeated the Nasty Boys in a Street Fight Macho Man Randy Savage defeated U.S. champion Ric Flair by reversal decision(Flair won by cheating and they restarted match but was non-title) WCW Champion the Giant defeated Lex Luger Chavo Guerrero -vs- Psychosis was advertised on the card but never happened This show was pretty sweet, though. I think everyone thought Goldberg was going to be there, since the chants broke out every so often. I don't know if you saw it, but the highlight of the show(other than Benoit) was some girl flashing the crowd then getting thrown out.

Guest Incandenza Report post Posted July 19, 2002 Though I never was big into the WCW, I regret not going to the Greed PPV. How many other towns can say they were the location of the very last WCW PPV?
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted July 19, 2002 The 1996 World War III PPV... in Norfolk, VA at The Scope. Rey vs. Ultimo Dragon was good... and that's about it. Malenko vs. Psicosis was dissapointing.
Guest 4Life Report post Posted July 19, 2002 It was in April on 1999. Nitro was in Charlotte. Wasn't even close to being sold out. It sucked. Ric Flair was playing a psycho and I can't really remember anything else. That goes to show you that it sucked.
Guest papacita Report post Posted July 19, 2002 WCW Thunder on June 18 (?), 1998...after which I promised myself I would never watch WCW again.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted July 19, 2002 The closest WCW ever came to my hometown was Toronto. A 4 hour drive was just a little too much to convince me to go, although I would liked to have gone to the Nitro that was there in March 1999.
Guest franchise632 Report post Posted July 19, 2002 I have been to a WCW twice in my life, both times for Road Wild in Sturgis, SD. Since its free I went, cause no way would I pay for WCW tickets. I went to the infamous RW 98 with the classic showdown of Hogan/Bischoff vs DDP/Jay Leno. Then there was the final show of RW 99 with Savage vs Rodman street fight and some other stuff i dont really remember.
Guest RepoMan Report post Posted July 19, 2002 This thread reminds me that ClayDude14 still owes me $25 for when I bought a ticket for a April 2000 Nitro right after the whole New Blood angel just got started. That show sucked, every one else waited to get free tickets, and I end up $50 in the hole. The only good thing was I got on TV with my generic New Blood sign. Guest Respect The 'Taker Report post Posted July 19, 2002 My last WCW show was when they came down here to Australia, in October of 2000. Honestly, it was one of the greatest adreneline rushes i've ever experienced...the main event was Scott Steiner vs Sting ( a match where Steiner told us to all go fuck Koala Bears ) and the card also included Kevin Nash ( who is fucking HUGE in real life, honestly, you gotta see the guy to believe it ) & Mike Sanders vs Booker T & The Cat and Konnan vs Lance Storm. Overall, it fuckin' ruled, i got to see Sting come down from the rafters in person, as well as being treated to my first live wrestling experience. Also, big mention to David Penzer, who RULES when it comes to hyping the fans, he really got us all into the show and made it that much more worth while. WCW ruled...and i miss it This has been the Taker Mark

Yeah the show was announced like 4 or 5 months before Goldberg was really over and they advertised him to be on the card and he wasn't. When the semi main even started (Hacksaw Jim Duggan Vs Barry Darsow) everyone in my section thought Hacksaw would be the one fighting Goldberg. I didn't see the flasher DAMN THOSE CHEAP SEATS
Guest crandamaniac Report post Posted July 19, 2002 Last WCW show I went to was in January of 2001, at the LJVM Coliseum in Winston Salem. It was a Double Taping of Nitro/Thunder. I remember Kevin Nash powerbombing Alex Wright thru the stage, A cruiserweight gauntlet match, DDP v.s Buff with Luger reffing, and shaking hands with Glacier. The coolest part about it was I got my picture posted twice on the WCW website, of course I got bitched out by my girlfriend at the time because one of them was with a Nitro Girl
Guest BorneAgain Report post Posted July 19, 2002 I went to two WCW shows. One was a thunder in which Storm had to defend all three of his belts. And the other show I went to was none other than WCW Sin in January. Good show imo. I remember when the mystery man was unmasked, my brother and I both looked at eachother and said "Animal!?" I also have the unique distinction of seeing (so far) Goldberg's as well as Sid's last matches. btw I also saw terry gordy's last match too.
