WWE Ticket Woes...

Recommended Posts

Guest SteveyP93

I just went online to Ticketmaster to check on Vengeance ticket sales (this is at Thursday at 2:00 pm). I requested one ticket, and was given a second row seat, ringside! I didn't actually buy it, but I was shocked. The sky is falling...3 days before the event and second row seats are still available, my god...

Yep... that's why the WWE has been blocking off the top of their arena.

Tickets down... ratings down.. hmmm..

This is getting more serious by the day.

People say there's nothing to worry about cause wrestling has been in a slump before in 93-96. Well back then Vince had competition to remind him that he need to step it up and he knew back then he needed to step it up. Problem now is he's not noticing it quite as much.

He's tending to forget that ratings don't jump back up overnight to where you want them.

Okay now that I got that out of my system....

I'm actually not that worried....just needed to vent. I just wish we weren't in a slump right now.

It is very serious. And they might be going to Safeco for Mania next year? Riiiight, that'll work...

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't Safeco an outdoor field in Seattle? What dumbass would book a PPV in a rainy place like Seattle in March? Do they have a retractable roof?

Just wanted to point out that there are always single seats available closer than two seats.

They sold out the second row...but had an odd number of sales resulting in 1 seat remaining.

Not very many people buy 1 seat...do they?

Go ask for 2 tickets and see where they get you.

I'm sure ticket sales are bad as Taker, HHH and Brock turn everyone off...but they can't be that bad.

Well, I've heard they consider SafeCo. Likely it will sell out because they hardly ever come out here or to Vancouver, and California very rarely, plus it's WrestleMania. I'm guessing that's only 55-60 thousand seats.

I don't believe Detroit has ever sold-out a wrestling show... wrestling has never seemed to sell well in the Great Lakes area.

Irregardless, this still is another sign that WWE is losing more and more popularity amongst every fan base.

Ok, on the subject of tickets in general.

For the Raw I went to, I was on Ticketmaster for 2 hours before they even started selling, just to make sure. Because I really wanted ringside tickets. The very second they start selling (refresh, refresh, refresh) I'm buying - but nothing below the upper-first level is available at all. AT ALL.

Do ringside tickets get sold differently? I had to settle for front row balcony, middle deck area.

Not that I am aware of chris.

I've gotten on the floor for all 3 promotions in the former "big 3" with minimal effort.

I've never been able to get better than the second tier of the arena for a show at either MSG, Continental Airlines, or First Union Center. But I'll be there for Survior Series. I hope the slump continues, at least then I can get good seats!

Detroit use to sell out often...I went there with a couple friends for a house show in 2000 and they were sold out...they were sold out the RAW I went to in 98 and they looked sold out for Survivor Series 99.

I really have no desire to go to the ppv though

Hoi, they couldn't have filled Safeco even if they weren't in a slump. That place is fucking huge. Maybe Key Arena... but not Safeco.

Floor seats are easy to get, but if you can't get in the first handful of rows, you are better off getting elevated seats. You can see a lot better that way.

As convenient as the Internet can be to buy tickets, I've always found that calling the 800 number gets through quicker.

I just checked Ticketmaster. There are two seats on MF, Row 5 available.

I just did some research myself, seeing how high a quantity I could enter on Ticketmaster before I didn't find ringside seats. Several times I got a message saying "Access to our ticketing system is currently limited.

Please try again at a later time." But eventually I was able to find ringside seats for all quantities up to 14! (15 finally put me in lower level seating.) And these seats aren't all in the same row. I think it was 6 or 7 in row 2, 8 in row 4, 10 in row 3, and 14 in row 5.

You can also get up to 15 tickets for any other section, with the exception of the nosebleed seats, which appear to be sold out (or closed off).

What can we deduce from this information?

1) I must be really bored right now.

2) If you want tickets to Vengeance in any section, including ringside, you shouldn't have a problem. You and up to 13 friends can sit in the fifth row on the floor.

3) It looks like they could have some big holes in the crowd unless they move people down and close off the upper level seating. This is good for fans, who could end up paying $40 and sit at ringside. But it doesn't look good at all for WWE.

Oh my God.

This pleases me.

And I don't know why.

When I had front row seats ringside at the RAW I went to in either '98 or '99, I just went to the box office a couple hours early and we were 2nd in line. My tickets were Seats 1,2,3,4, Row AA....I was in the corner between the ring and where the wrestlers come out, it was cool as hell.

Because it means that NWATNA could get more business? Or because you hate the WWE.

Oh and for the record. I always had a harder time getting good seats for Nitro. for RAW it seemed like you just had to show up early and you could get what you wanted, but with Nitro even showing up and being first in line wouldn't get me or my friends front row/ringside..

Because they don't deserve to have people show up and watch this product.

That is the cause of my glee.

Well, the Key only seats like 16,000 or 14,000 people and is already a small arena, so I don;t know how they fit in everything for RAW and SmackDown (the set. Safeco seats like 35,000 plus the floor seats, and they could probably open up a hundred or so more in the standing room in center seats later if it sells well enough. Safeco's a pretty small stadium in term of seating, its a big baseball field.

What's funny is that the cheapest seats are sold out. I had a plan to get the cheaper seats and then hope we got moved up. I was willing to pay $50 for 2 tickets, but not $80. Anybody know where I can get free tickets? I'm sure they will be giving them away.

Detroit has sold out a lot of wrestling shows, even recently.

AND DAMMIT I CAN'T EVEN GO TO VENGEANCE BECAUSE MY MOM WON'T LET ME GO BECAUSE OF BAND CAMP! AAAAAAAAAAAGH! *smashes wall*

And yep, they're losing popularity. Even among hardcore fans... :(
