Hotmail death threat EMail!?

My friend got an email last night that was in all Spanish on Hotmail that had an attachment. The rough translation of the email said something like "What will you say when you are alone? Ha ha ha." or something along those lines. Then my friend opened an attachment and there was a pic of something being hung and in blood red letters said "YOU".

 

Anyone have anything like this happen? Did it really freak you out?

I'd tell your friend to get a antivirus scanner cause I bet his machine is infected now. Just a word of wisdom unless you have antivirus software, never open an attachment from some random source.

I've been getting absolutely loads of emails recently which could be similar things. All of them have spanish subject titles and all of them are 313k's in size. I haven't opened any of them as I was suspicious it was a virus right from the start, but they are really crippling my hotmail account as they take up all the space available to me. I turned on junk mail filter, but that just sends them to another folder, still taking up all my space though. Any help?

You could make the e-mail you get only from the people on your address book, Platypus.

 

Unless you're in a mailing list or something like that, then I suggest that.

Hotmail virus scans e-mail w/McAfee.... BUT, I would double check with your own virus scanner.

I haven't been getting stuff like that, but in the last week my amount of spam e-mails has gone from about 10 per day to nearly 100 every single day. If I go a day or 2 without checking then my account completely fills.

you don't figure that Hotmail is laying back on stopping this spam so they can get users to crack and pay them for extra storage, right?

I'd say about 20% of my mail is junk mail, maybe 30%. But it's doesn't flood up my mail box the least bit.

He got yet another death threat written in Spanish from the same address. This time the attachment was hanging from his nose and with blood read letters said "YOU". Then he got ANOTHER and it said something in Spanish with my attachment from the same address. It's crazy.

i too have been getting around 8 a day, but they seem to have stopped now. I also got a FUCKING PRICK called daniel bennett trying to send me a virus on messenger. Seems to have stopped now.

If I go a day without checking my hotmail account I literally have 150-200 messages all junk mail

I seem to be getting a ridiculous amount of Spanish emails... some even from familiar addresses (my friend, my cousin) though I know they didn't send them.

 

How annoying...
