Quick Question

I generally speak and write in an informal style, but for the first column I write on a "real" movie (which I'm writing right now, I was hoping to get it out earlier so as not to be overshadowed by Dr. Tom's Smackdown Recap, but alas!) I want to be pretty formal, if nothing else so that I can be taken seriously by the people who always pass up my reviews of b-horror for Polk's reviews.

Anyway... what is the formal way of saying or implying "screwed over". There has to be one, right?

definitely depends on the context, and also how formal you wanna go with the language.

The context is "and ultimately the most screwed over by the film's end". Incandenza is right, it's such a minor deal that I'll just leave it as is.

Also, I'd rather use "gypped" than "Jewed" for the obvious reason that, well, I'm Jewish :P

No offense to any gypsies out there, of course.

Yeah, i dont say `Jewed` anymore, but, my white friends cousin's grandmother who is black and very racist (or anti-semit, whatver) does.

Confusing, no?

Actually one time I said it as a joke and my dad heard and he got HELLA pissed. I think it was the first time in years he got HELLA pissed at me. The only other time would have been when I messed up the garage door when we first moved in years ago.

victimized? offended? ill-treated? Ultimately the worst off by the films in?

Yea, I dunno, I just left it in as "screwed over". I'll post the column tomorrow (was going to post it today, until I noticed that there were already three posts for Thursday, and there probably won't be any for Friday, so... spread out the content a bit) so you guys can judge for yourself.

Yes... see what happens when I write about a movie you WANT to see :P

my entire family seems to be racist except me, my uncle once said kill 'em all referring top four ethnic groups on a span of 5 min or so

But Jewed is kinda funny, but i still say Bradshawed :)

Cheap Plug! The first "An Exercise in Good Taste" column ever is now on the front page! And while you're there, you can also read RetroRob's "WCW Road Wild '99" review and his interview with Trish if you haven't already!
