Guest GenerationNever Report post Posted July 20, 2002 But it is a statistical fact women are raped more than men.
Guest Cancer Marney Report post Posted July 20, 2002 I'm well aware of that. And it has no bearing whatsoever on anything in my argument. Saying that I have a more "poignant" perspective on rape because I'm a woman and thus obviously can't understand the perspective of an "active member of the military" is nothing more than pre-adolescent cock-waving. I have neither the inclination nor the equipment to compete.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted July 20, 2002 The winner, by knockout in the sixth round, Marney! I agree with you, sometimes the right thing to do is to betray a trust. Were the soldiers who massacred civilians in Vietnam right to follow their commanders' orders?

Exactly. A person is a person. A person's outlook on rape depends on their experiences of it, their upbringing, and oh yeah, their own individual thoughts. Not their gender. Nor their race, sexuality or age, while we're on the subject.
Guest Samurai_Goat Report post Posted August 21, 2002 Of course, it'd be quite a sight to kick someone in the groin when they're facing another direction... But, anyway, I gots to go with Marney on this one, however little help I may be. If there is a situation where whoever is in charge is corrupt, and s/he's all about to do some serious damage to the group, country, or whatever, etc, then I'd hope somebody would find a way to get that person out of power. Rebelling against a corrupt government (and no, I'm not talking about USA here, so don't even) could be considered treason, but what would you rather happen? There can be good reasons to break some major rules and undermine your country. But there's no good reason, even potentially, for rape. Yea, some treason can be worse than rape, by rebelling against a good government, or something like that, but there is never a time where I've heard anything positive about rape. Oh, and I'm male, so you can't pull the gender card now. Of course, I wouldn't say that it was quite a vicious attack as Marney made it out to be, but, hey, I'm rambling. Guys can be concerned about rape too. There. I hope I made some sense...
