Guest King_TIL Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 IMHO, definitely The Usual Suspects. I also liked the final twists in Primal Fear and The Sixth Sense. I hated how Fight Club ended. *spoilers* Edward Norton should have died, but instead he shoots himself through the mouth/jaw which somehow kills his alter-ego and not himself. Is it true that in the book he actually does commit suicide? The fade to white at the end of Total Recall really made the movie for me.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 *SPOILERS* He thought it would kill him, too. So since Tyler was all in his head, if he thought it would kill him, it would kill Tyler, even if he ended up living. It's all about mind over...uh...Brad Pitt...
Guest J*ingus Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 King TIL, in answer to your question, no, it's the same thing in both.
Guest thefrenchargel Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 Why in the hell has no one said Reservoir Dogs? that ending is the ungodly shit. I hated The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable as they were both based on twist endings that I guessed about an hour in on both of them. I'm going to watch Signs, and if I don't like it, I'm never watching an M. Night Shamylan picture again. Seven and Heat both rule it. Silence of the Lambs has an awesome ending with Hannibal calling Clarice before he goes to eat Dr. Chilton.
Guest King_TIL Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 King TIL, in answer to your question, no, it's the same thing in both. Okay, thanks. I'll have to start reading stuff on my own now instead of taking other people's accounts. *spoiler* Ravenbomb, that's what I initially thought, but, I dunno, it just didn't sit well with me. I don't understand why if he was wrong that it would kill himself, he was right that it would kill Durden.
