Favorite Beatles Song

Recommended Posts

Guest O.J. Hart

Well, I love almost all the songs done by the late George Harrison, so here's my list

1. While My Guitar Gently Weeps(Harrison)

2. Something(Harrison)

3. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Harts Club Band(McCartny)

4. Maxwell's Silver Hammer(McCartny)

5. The Ballad of John ond Yoko(Lennon)

Those are the only Beatles I could listen to all day and not be tempted to kill myself. do like all the work of the Beatles, but these are the ones that are timeless for me. You guys have any old favorites?

5) Something

4) Revolution #9

3) Let It Be

2) Here Comes The Sun

1) In My Life

Shockingly enough, I also like... "Doctor Robert".

BTW, O.J, why is one of your tag-team a pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds?

I can answer that question for you Phr33k. You see, me and Chris are good friends and stuff. I always go to see him when the Reds are in town(at PNC Park) and he always enjoys talking to me. You can say we are basically really good friends. I put him on my Team Canada because he is from Canada and he is my homie. His wife is cool too. I put her in there for show effects. I don't know if she's originally from Canada though.

Don't start putting pointless stuff in this thread though about my Team Canada. Keep talking about the beatles.

This changes every week.

The three that are always there...um..."Let It Be," "Golden Slumbers," and "You Never Give Me Your Money."

Seriously, I can't do this. I need 30, at least, to do the Beatles. ::explodes::

What's hilarious is that one person's favorite Beatles song (see Revolution 9, I Want You (She's So Heavy)) is another person's bane.

But, like godthedog, I have enough problems debating over which album I like best, let alone which song, but I'll just randomly sift through these albums and put down which songs I really, really like, in no particular order.

Ticket To Ride

In My Life

Lady Madonna

Eleanor Rigby

Tomorrow Never Knows

Strawberry Fields Forever

Hey Bulldog

I Am The Walrus

Revolution

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

I Want You (She's So Heavy)

Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)

Hey Jude

Long, Long, Long

Yer Blues

If I absolutely had to pick three...

Tomorrow Never Knows

Strawberry Fields Forever

Revolution

All the stuff mentioned pretty much rules. I think Abbey Road is their best album personally. Songs you haven't mentioned that I think are great include:

Back In The USSR

I'm Only Sleeping

Revolution

Nowhere Man

Here Comes The Sun

Octopus's Garden

and from the older stuff:

Help!

From Me To You

She Loves You

All classics

Well, if it makes you feel better, "Jealous Guy" was originally written by John as "Child of Nature" during the Beatles' trip to India. There was even a demo cut of it, but it was never fleshed out any further during the recordings for the white album...years later, John picked up the song, wrote new (and hugely improved) lyrics, and boom - you've got one of Lennon's classic solo works.

a little off-topic, but i was listening to 'lennon live in new york' today, and theres a pretty funny part where they're about to play "come together", and he says "this is the only song i'm playing tonight that i wrote in the past, before i quit......the rolling stones". and everyone laughed.

Wow, glad to see someone besides me likes Maxwell's Silver Hammer. Thanks for making me not feel alone GeneMean!!!

I find it funny because the song is about a boy on a killing spree with a hammer killing a girl, his teacher, then the judge. And they thought today's songs were violent.
