Guest Flair5000 Report post Posted February 19, 2002 My suggestions: 1) Spike/Tazz and Billy/Chuck are not over, lose them. 2) Hardys heel turn. Ridiculously overdue. 3) Dudleys face turn. They're stale but at least this might bring back some interest. 4) Push Storm/Christian. 5)Take some of the 1000 guys employed by the WWF and not on TV and make some decent new teams. Kidman, Raven, Helms, Saturn...all experienced tag wrestlers who could put on some decent matches.
Guest JAxlMorrison Report post Posted February 19, 2002 1. The New Eliminators=Saturn and Kanyon 2. Raven and Stevie Richards (clueless putz Stevie) 3. Lesnar and Benjamin 4. X-Pac and Justin Credible (I think this team had potential)
Guest Galactic Gigolo Report post Posted February 19, 2002 1) Spike/Tazz can be broken up, but Billy/Chuck should stay. They're not over now, but they can be a tag team till the split. 2) I don't think of Hardyz as heel material. I can't stand them, but even a heel turn wouldn't effect their staleness. 3) Dudleyz are HORRIBLE faces. 4) Yes, Storm and Christian should be pushed. 5) Agreed. But remember, the WWF is splitting up in a month or so. There's really no point to reestablishing the tag division when it's going to be decimated soon. Guest oldschoolwrestling Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Kanyon/Stasiak for comedy purposes Edge/Christian/Storm because Edge sucks as both a face and a singles wrestler Saturn/Rhyno with a male manager and female valet
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted February 19, 2002 They HAVE to stop putting two random guys together with little or no reason behind them teaming. Spike and Tazz...why are they together? Both being small is the only thing wwf has implied that ties them together. Booker T and Test...WWF gave no reason for these two to team up Storm and Christian...haven't been given a good reason for being together but they fit together well so don't really need one. IF WWF actually gives them something to work with and not just make them randomly wrestle for no reason they will be a good team. Dudleys...unless they are allowed to rip on the crowd like they did in ECW they won't ever be anything special. Hell just giving them and kind of decent storyline that doesn't involve being sexually arroused by tables would help make them watchable in WWF. Chuck and Billy...As much as i hate Billy Gunn this isn't that bad of a team. Sure the matches will suck but this is WWF they have to have at least one shitty wrestler(usually many more) in each division. They are semi entertaining and could the jobber team that everyone enjoys watching lose.
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted February 20, 2002 It is interesting but why not let RVD/Edge become a team and also have them as singles in the IC division? I suggested this before on the old board, but the idea is still cool I think. They've been teaming enough lately so no one will say "why are they teaming all of a sudden?" And they would also be a popular team.
Guest Flair5000 Report post Posted February 20, 2002 I agree, RVD and Edge would be a great team. I would have said no in the past as it would keep RVD down, but with the nWo this will happen anyway, and Edge is probably better in tags at the moment. Guest raptor Report post Posted February 20, 2002 I liked Hurricane/Storm as the Forces of Nature or whatever. They had some good tag team cohesiveness. If the face/heel dynamic is odd, they have both Impact Players (Credible/Storm) on the roster. Chuck and Billy have good homophobic heel heat, so I'd keep them around. Also, the have those Island Boyz in HWA, and from all I've heard they're readu for the big time. Christian and Test did okay also. The problem is, they need to give the teams a reason to be together. Then any combonation could concievebly work.
Guest rsk Report post Posted February 20, 2002 Bring in New Teams... that is my Major Complaint about the Tag Scene.. there are no Fresh Teams there. How many times can you see Dud's, E&C and Hardyz in a match together. I need something more. APA - are great but they have lost a Step. B&C - Well No Comment on then. Tazz & Spike - give me a break T&T - Ok, they could be something. (Booker Fan) Albert/Scottie - Makes no sense Duds - Bring Back the Tables Christian/Storm - This could be a good team Hardyz - Ok great spot fest but enough already ---------------------- New Teams Needed ---------------------- Saturn/Kanyon - New Eliminators - Great Idea Raven/Dreamer - Masters of HardCore Helms/Moore - Give the Hardyz someone to Compete with. Kronik - I Know Fired, But still they needed more time to grow on the fans - Doom of the new Era. Island Boys - I OVW Team already on the WWF Contract list - get them up there. X-pac/Credible - The New Impact players - Could be great.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted February 20, 2002 Kanyon/Stasiak for comedy purposes Why waste Kanyon by saddling him w/ Stasiak? I'd like to see them bring in Simon Diamond/Johnny Swinger as well as Disco/Alex Wright, but that's just my own little dream world.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted February 20, 2002 I did a similar post to this topic on the old board. My thoughts on the tag team scene: Break up the APA. Faarooq is almost ready to hang it up, so why not have a farewell run for the guy as a singles, and start up the rumored Bradshaw singles push. Tazz/Spike: Not that bad of a team, but it's way too similar to the way Spike was booked in ECW...partners with Balls Mahoney one night, New Jack the next, etc. Tazz should be a singles face with an edge or a killer singles heel. Chuck/Billy: I don't mind them, but wouldn't it have been easier to keep Palumbo/O'Haire together, then bring in Lenny and Lodi for the gay act? Hardy Boyz: I think a heel turn could work, as long as they had a mouthpiece (Paul E.) or were part of a stable (maybe a Crazy Max-ish juniors dick heel stable)-Also, they should drop Lita...that'll bring 'em heel heat. Dudley Boyz: Right now, should be badass faces. Ideas for new teams: Kane/Tajiri (neither man is doing anything constructive right now, and it makes for a nice "Odd Couple/Unholy Alliance" type of duo. I agree with the Impact Players reunion. Storm is being wasted, and Credible needs something to do. If Mysterio is coming in, team him with Kidman again. Reunite the Hollys, and make them over as a technical/asskicking team that blurs the face/heel line. A new Flock, consisting of Raven, Richards, Kanyon, Jerry Lynn, Saturn, and Hugh Morrus. Pretty much any combination of these guys would be a good heel team. I agree that The Island Boyz are ready to be called up. Could be monster heels, or faces on the side of Rikishi or something. Guest Rex911 Report post Posted February 20, 2002 Here's my two cents: * Tazz/Spike--Gotta go, no use for em. * Chuck/Billy--Keep 'em. Good midcard Tag Team, comedy value, keep em away from the belts, and we're fine. * APA--- Another midcard team, unexplainably popular, so good draw there. * Dudleyz---Something, anything needs to be done. Either turn em face and bring back the tables, or make em ECW style heels * Hardyz---Good team, always interesting, NEED a story line. * Albert/Scotty--Kill this team, quickly * Storm/Christian---Get rid of the temper tantrum, and make them a good solid heel team. * Kaientai--- Don't make them a joke team, just a quality mid to low card team New Teams: * Saturn/Kanyon--- sounds good to me, as long as Saturn is a serious wrestler again * X-Pac/Credible--- Would probably end up as nWo cannon fodder but they are a fairly good team * Edge/RVD---No, focus on singles for both of em. * Island Boys---Yeah, bring em up, let them do SOMETHING. Also, How about: * Have Paul Heyman manage a "Midnight Express" like team, some combination of Val Venis, Hardcore Holly, Al Snow, Stevie Richards, Jerry Lynn & Scott Taylor (Not Scotty if he wants to be taken seriously) Something like Lynn/Venis, Snow/Lynn, Holly/Venis, Taylor/Richardfs or mix and match. * Shawn Stasiak/Randy Orton, as a team trying to break out of their family's shadow. Not a main event caliber team or anything, but good midcard filler Just some thoughts REX
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted February 20, 2002 I also liked The Impact Players in ECW but i don't think they should reform them. Storm deserves a better partner then Justin Credible. Storm/Christian would be the best option for a Lance Storm tag team. Well they need to stop making Christian act like a spoiled kid first to make it a good team. Well Storm/Angle wouldn't be a bad team either, but i don't see them sending Angle down to the tag division.
Guest Adrian 3:16 Report post Posted February 20, 2002 -I don't like this Storm and Christian team. They look like 2 guys they threw together because they had nothing else to do with them, which of course is exactly what they are. I would much rather have the Impact Players back. They looked like a real team, and they could be huge if properly presented and given actual wins over established teams. You could also have Torrie Wilson taking over in Dawn Marie's role, since her hooking up with Tajiri was never too believable anyway. -Raven and Saturn. No need to explain this one. Could play great faces or heels. Of course, that would mean giving Raven TV time, and we can't have that, can we Vince? -I actually like the Dudleys better as heels, but they have gotten extremely boring. Either let them really cut loose on their opponents in the ring and on the mic, or else maybe a double-turn with the Hardys is worth a try. -
Guest Flair5000 Report post Posted February 20, 2002 I think Raven and Saturn is definetley one of the great missed oppurtunities at the moment. And, as someone said, a Heyman managed team would be great.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted February 20, 2002 Storm and Christian look better together as a team then Storm and Credible did and besides Credible was dead weight. But of course Christian HAS to lose the tantrum gimmick before they can truly seem like a team. With a little more work they will be a good team and better then Storm/Credible. And honestly how did Storm and Credible look like a team that fit together. They acted as a team but surely didn't look like guys that fit together.
Guest X-Factor Corperation Report post Posted February 21, 2002 How could you have forgotten about Crash and Funaki? They're the greatest team in WWF history! They've even got a tag team title shot against the big men Tazz and Spike Dudley. Gotta love Metal.
Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted February 21, 2002 Kanyon & Raven (have worked together before) Public Enemy (hehehe) ECW Dudleyz (Just bleep the vulgarity) Mikey Whipwreck & Taijir (Retired my ass) Impact Players (Credible actually looked credible) Simon/Swinger w/ Dawn Marie (amazing talent) The Outsiders (someone to slather the Hardyz) Bam Bam Bigelow & Rej Jr. (I'm crazy) Mike Awesome & Perry Saturn (both have tag exp) Chuck & Billy (they add comedic relief) The APA (not as champs though)
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 21, 2002 Kayon & Raven (w/o the skirt) Outsiders (If Hall can work and they don't push them as singles) Storm & Christian (If they won't push either as a single) Hurricane & Nova (could be funny and lead to good matches) Kidman & Rey Jr. (good team in WCW, great workers) Awesome & Rhyno (Could be a good power team) Tazz & Tajiry (Think it would be better than Tazz and Spike)
