Guest Human Fly Report post Posted July 20, 2002 What I find funny.. We all talk about how they should elevate new people..and they start to..(Cena)..but when he's fighting Angle or Jericho..it's whining about "Not over THOSE GUYS!". I'm sure if it was HHH or Undertaker in the same roles, nobody would be screaming for blood like they are. That's because (in Jericho's case) he has never been put over like he should himself. Doing jobs like the ones he's been doing lately hurt his credibility. If he would've been built up by other wrestlers like the Rock built him up things would be different. You are right about HHH and Undertaker. If they are going to push HHH to the top in all fairness right now would not be the best time for him to start putting over younger talent. He could put over Jericho, but that's another thread for another time. As far as Undertaker goes I feel that he should start putting the younger wrestlers over. He is coming to the end of his career, and the rub he could give would be better then what Jericho could give.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted July 20, 2002 The thing about Cena getting a rub from Jericho is that there isn't much of a rub to give. Jericho has lost a lot of credibility, as we all know. So in reality, it may seem like Cena is getting this huge push, but really, its not a main event push...not yet at least.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted July 20, 2002 Jericho had credibility? Really? Gee..those DX..Chyna..Kane feuds really built the guy up.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted July 20, 2002 I was thinking more of when he was feuding against the Rock...

Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted July 20, 2002 In all seriousness..Jericho always looked "a step below" all the other guys.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted July 20, 2002 In all seriousness..Jericho always looked "a step below" all the other guys. do you think it was in the way he booked or just becasue he isn't cut to be a min eventer? I think it was the way he booked, but what are you opinions?
Guest Narcoleptic Jumper Report post Posted July 20, 2002 I think what Chris Jericho needs right now is TIME OFF. During this time he can re-invent himself, get a new finish, a better offense, and maybe even re-invent his mic work. When he comes back his character would seem fresh and a lot more interesting. How about this for a dream angle? In some fashion, Triple H and Jericho have a match on RAW or something in which Triple H "injurs" Jericho. Jericho's gone for 6 months or so, and while he's gone, Triple H turns heel and again becomes one of the most hated guys out there. When Chris comes back he comes right back into a feud with Triple H. Say he interferes in a big match for Triple H (maybe a title match) and beats the hell out of him. Triple H has GOT to sell it as if he's completely scared shitless of this new and more enraged and serious Chris Jericho. This feud would DEFINITELY get Chris over as a monster face. The feud culminates at a pay per view where Jericho PINS TRIPLE H CLEANLY. That will put Jericho over as a legitimate main event threat. Of course none of that will ever happen, but I can dream, can't I?

How about this for a dream angle? I agree with the time off, it could really help his character. As for the revamped offense I don't really agree. People say his offense looks weak, but The Rock still uses the People's Elbow as a finisher, Hogan still uses the legdrop, and people buy into those moves.
