Guest Drury37 Report post Posted February 23, 2002 I thought that WWF Survivor Series 1998 was a very good event and that the tournament was a lot of fun. Thanks.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 23, 2002 Match wise....Survivor Series 98 was pretty bad. BUT it told a great story and I enjoyed it. I liked the Rock back when he first started (even though everyone hated him as a face) I thought that he looked good in the ring...and that was all I cared about. His heel turn was brilliant...and then everybody started to cheer him eventually. Each of his matches end with him apparently overcoming the corporations interference. When in reality you'd realize that they were helping him. The he wins the belt and turned heel immediatly...it was brilliant. You look back at those matches and see how great they were laid out. It wasn't a bad show...in terms of entertainment.
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted February 23, 2002 Yeah WWF Survivor Serries 1998 and 1999 were both great in the long run for storylines but match wise were pretty bad,so they had their ups and downs. P.S. I think I need love advice from my fellow Smarkies!!! Thanks.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 23, 2002 I liked Survivor Series 1998. Tournaments most of the time suck, due to time, but the entertainment value and booking was very well done. I never saw The Rock turn coming. KOTR '95 is also a disappointment. They should of gone with HBK vs. UTin the finals, but instead, we got Mabel.
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted February 23, 2002 Well that's WWF 1995 for ya,we will push anybody who is talentless and not worth a push while other people wait in the wings and job for these useless people who don't deserve a push but is getting one. Thanks.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 23, 2002 Wasn't the plan KOTR final HBK vs. UT? I heard it was, but word got out about, so the WWF changed it.
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted February 23, 2002 Oh man that stinks because that would have made for a good main event and possibly a good show unlike what we got!!! Thanks.
Guest Your God Report post Posted February 23, 2002 I've seen both IYH 4 and KOTR 95, and both were horrible, wretched excuses for PPV. * KOTR 95 has been discussed in great lengths, but, to say a few words before I rip IYH 4 a new a--hole, it had an unbelievable rise to the finals from the then relatively unknown Savio Vega (let's not forget he had debuted under the Savio Vega name one month before at the first IYH and most people didn't know that he was Kwang). It had the almighty, unstoppable Undertaker lying down after a fat Mabel legdrop. And the three most talented men on the roster? Bret was in a comedy match Jerry Lawler, Owen was nowhere to be seen (I think all he did was interfere in the Yokozuna match), and Shawn was busy getting a *3/4 match out of Kama. That, IMO, is one of Shawn's worst matches of the era; sadly, it was one of Kama's best. *IYH 4. Not many people remember this show, and for good reason. It sucks! The Bulldog worked on Diesel's leg for 20 minutes, boring the crowd and pissing off Bret Hart on commentary (who even went so far as to critique a Sharpshooter from the Bulldog). However, it did end the Diesel push when Vinny Mac chewed him a new a--hole following the match and told him his days as champ were numbered. The show also had Goldust's first match, against Marty Jannetty. If you think the Bizzarre one is bad now, look at him in his first WWF match. More like the Boring One. We also get a tearfelt moment as an "injured" HBK gives his IC belt to Shane Douglas. Awww...don't cwy Shawn...see, we gave it back to your buddy Scotty and made Shane look like a complete dillhole in the process, especially when Scotty pinned him with his foot under the ropes. Oh, and Yokozuna vs. Mabel was on the show. A heel vs. heel matchup with Yoko and Mabel that ends in a double countout. That is all I have to say...
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted February 23, 2002 I also believe the arena for IYH 4 wasnt even sold out and they had to move some people to the other side of the arena because of it. (rumored). Also, i completely forgot the whole undercard cept for Goldie/MJ, which was kinda good, but not great. That was the match of the night sadly. Tsk Tsk. As for KOTR as my choice, oh brother my predictions were: UT def. Mabel HBK def. Kama Holly def. Roadie Yoko def. Razor then Yoko def. Savio round 2: HBK def. UT Yoko def. Holly Finals: HBK def. Yoko yeah i know, why not put Luger in the KOTR for once instead of jobbing him. The qualifying field was terrible Undertaker Vs. Jeff Jarrett (not bad) Mabel vs. adam Bomb (1 mniunte squash at IYH1) HBK vs. King Kong Bundy Kama vs. Duke Droese Bob Holly vs. Mantuar Roadie vs. Doink IV Razor vs. Eli/Jacob blue Owen Hart vs. Britsh Bulldog BUT NOOOOOOO Razors "hurt" and owen & bulldog fight to a draw so we get.... Yokozuna Vs. Lex Luger God i was PRAYING for another draw. then we get... SAVIO VEGA the puertorican ninja vs. IRS What the hell was Vince smoking?!! Why not Bam Bam with his ALLEDGED MAJOR FACE PUSH? OR TATANKA?!! HE NEEDED IT BAD. MAYBE PUT JARRETT INSTEAD OF ROADIE OR MABEL. Also, THERE WERE NO TITLES EVEN AT STAKE, MAKING IT A, WHO CARES., NOTHING NOTABLE WILL HAPPEN SHOW. SID COULDA BEEN IN IT. TO ESTABLISH HIMSELF AS A MORE DOMINATE HEEL. Survivor Series 1998: Al Snow, Goldust, Steven Regal, Ken shamrock, Jeff Jarrett, X-Pac, Big boss Man, Duane Gill all in the first round. PA-lease. Rock, Austin, UT, Kane, Mankind are the only people anyone cared for, and everyone hated UT and a "heel" mankind. Non Tourny Matches: Sable vs. Jackie NAO vs. Buttbangers & 2 blacks with no sacks. Atleast WM4 had Strike Force vs. Demolition. Wrestlemania 2000: Godfather & B'lo vs. Bull & BBM? sheesh, nice opener, id ather watch Tito vs. Executioner (i forgot the order of matches) Hardcore Battle Royal: fun, but all JTTS except for the APA and Hardcore & Crash. Yes Tazz is a jobber at this point 4 months into his WWF tenure. T&A Vs. Head Cheeze: all i remember is a midget slapping his ass in a chunk of cheese suit. The KAt vs. Terri: Ok, cant compain, specially for KAts choice of ring attitre, and we did get to see a shot or 2 of Terris ass in a flesh colord thong. Kane & Rikishi vs. Xpac & the D-O-double G. Did this even have hitory besdies the Kane/Xpac fued that ended like 2 months before. Dudley Boyz vs. Hardy Boyz vs. Edge & Christian: What more to say about this? Plain classic with some sick bumps. Kurt Angle vs. Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit: I was picking CJ for IC & CB for euro, but it went the oitherwa, still good. Triple H vs. Mick Foley vs. Big Show vs. the rock: Hopefully last main event that isnt 1 on 1, 5 minutes, shows gone, 10 more, foley bye bye, 30 fuckin minutes or less of Rock & Triple H for the first of FIVE consectuive matches healdining a PPV with them. And the 5 man & women tag was aight. Wrestlemania 2: let me say one thing, i watched it in a shorter amount of time then a episode of In Living Color. Col. Sandurz: PREPARE TO FAST FORWARD!
