Guest The Electrifyer Posted July 20, 2002 Report Posted July 20, 2002 I know it's illegal, but everyone does it anyways... so how do I burn a copyrighted CD? Everytime I use DirectCD or Nero, it crashes on me when I write onto the blank CD and thus ruining the CD. What program or technique should I use to burn copyrighted CDs?
Guest The Electrifyer Posted July 20, 2002 Report Posted July 20, 2002 Ok.... to clear it up, I mean burn as in "copy". How do I "copy" a copyrighted CD?
Guest papacita Posted July 20, 2002 Report Posted July 20, 2002 With a lighter....huzzah! lol. Anyone else have a clue?
Guest jimmy no nose Posted July 20, 2002 Report Posted July 20, 2002 What exactly do you mean by copywrited CD? You mean just any old CD you'd buy in a store? For that I just use this program that came on my computer called Easy CD creator. I've never had a problem.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 20, 2002 Report Posted July 20, 2002 It really depends on what type of copyright protection is on the disc. If its one of those discs that won't play on a computer, you aren't going to have much luck. Also, make the switch to CDRW..
Guest The Electrifyer Posted July 20, 2002 Report Posted July 20, 2002 Well, what I mean is those copyrighted CDs like Soldier of Fortune or ones from EA Games, etc. Whenever I try and burn them, the program I use always says "CD is copyrighted" and then, it ruins the blank CD. Like when you buy a game and try to burn it, it'll just ruin your blank CD. Does anyone know how to burn these CDs?
Guest razazteca Posted July 20, 2002 Report Posted July 20, 2002 Game Copy World now this is for back up purposes only
Guest Flyboy Posted July 20, 2002 Report Posted July 20, 2002 CloneCD works for some games, but not all..
Guest DrTom Posted July 20, 2002 Report Posted July 20, 2002 The most basic form of copy protection built into CD's is a technology that causes some of the data to be read as bad sectors when played in a PC CD-ROM drive. Roxio's Easy CD Creator won't copy them, making it useless for even the most basic form of copy protection. Nero Burning will get past them, though, which makes it better than Roxio IMO. I've also had good experiences with CloneCD. Really, though, with all the P2P services out there, plus the newsgroups, actually burning a CD is becoming something people need to do less and less.
Guest razazteca Posted July 20, 2002 Report Posted July 20, 2002 can't you just make an image of the game than burn that to a CD?
Guest areacode212 Posted July 20, 2002 Report Posted July 20, 2002 Get a CD-RW burner made by Lite-On. The TDK Cyclone 48x24x48x drive is a rebadged Lite-On, and so are some of the slightly older models (mine is a TDK VeloCD 32x). Armed with a Lite-On and CloneCD, you can copy pretty much any CD out there, including the newest SafeDisc2-protected games.
