Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 20, 2002 Me and my family just got Dish Network (out big dish broke down finally, lol) and we now have Galavision. From 2pm est to 5pm est on Saturday and Sunday, they have that three hour block for Lucha Libre. I have no idea what to realy expect, and I have no idea who any of the workers will be (except for those that were in ECW...are any of those guys on what I will be watching?). The only Lucha Libre I have ever seen is that which has been in any of the main federations at one time or another, and whoever worked in the J Cups, etc... To start this off, as there is only twenty minutes before the show comes on, I want to ask you guys some questions. What is your opinion of Luch Libre when stacked against what we see in the US and Japan? What workers might be on what I will be watching that I know of? Also, just shoot out any other comments you have about it, as I'd love to hear them! I will post comments durring this upcoming three hour block of Luch Libre, and after it goes off I will give my overall opinion of what I just saw. So guys, stay tuned, as Downhome is about to experiance a NEW genre of what he loves so much, Pro. Wrestling! Sincerely, ...Downhome...
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 20, 2002 Ok, what I am watching right now is called CMLL, I've heard of that before but know nothing about it, lol. So far I love what I've seen, and that is only the intro and the annoucer. They seem to be treating this as a pure sports show, so that's cool as hell. Let me ask you this... ...is the Pro. Wrestling in the US the only wrestling in which they don't try to treat it as a real sport? I mean, seriously, lol.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 20, 2002 Also, what rules are different from what I am used to, if any? I know from WCW that there are no tags, but is there anything else?
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 20, 2002 Also, who are the best and who are not any count in Lucha Libre? Do you know anything about Lucha Libre training, because from what I am seeing right now, and in the past, they almost all seem to be very much trained in gymnastics. Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 20, 2002 how do you like the show so far? rule changes specific to Lucha: all matches are 2/3 falls unless its is a Giant Silva match which is always one fall. no tags needed double or triple teaming are not grounds for DQ unless it is a title match 2 refs usually one heel and face Only DQ that matters is the kick of doom to the manhood this happens alot and is faked by the rudos alot Luchadores to look for: Shocker & Mascara Magica Hijo de Santo Mascara de Plata Dr Wagner & Blue Panther & Fuerza Guerrera Tarzan Boy & Ultimo Guerrero & Rey Bucannero Black Warrior Black Tiger Zumbido.....best Mullet of Lucha Libre Negro Casas Santanico maybe old but still better spot fest losers Shiibata & Takamura are on loan from New Japan, look decent Worst All of Pierroth's Borricas army Mascara 2000 & Universo 2000 & Rayo de Jalisco
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 20, 2002 Holy crap, is this Giant Silva with the long hair that I see on my TV the very same one that was in the WWF?

I will give my remarks on some of the rules in just a while, but for now... ...I am loving the show so far, as this is one of the main aspects of WCW that I loved so much back in the day. Right now I am watching Silva, and I am just shocked as to how he looks now, IF this is the same guy that was in WWF. He looks like The Undertaker sorta, all in that black and with the long red hair. This is also funny as heel seeing the smaller guys trying to use their style against Silva, lol. Why are his matches the only one that are one fall? Are you serious when you say that? Oh yes, also, why are all of the matches tag matches, do they have any one on one?
Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 20, 2002 Fear the Splash of Doom from Silva for he is the slowest of the slow. AAA is a waist of time for it tries to be like WWE. Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 20, 2002 I don't understand, why are there two refs? My assumption is so they can keep up with everything that is going on, lol.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 20, 2002 good news is that it is La Parka bad news is that it is not the REAL one that is worshiped from WCW this is La Parka Jr there is also a fake Psicosis as the leader of the #1 Rudo stable Los Vipers
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 20, 2002 This is also going to help me a lot for another reason. I am currently trying to teach myself the Spanish language, so watching this, and other stuff on Galavision and Univision will get me familier with hearing the language! Speaking of Univision... ...is there any Pro. Wrestling on there? *sigh* How I wish there was a Japanese channel also, lol.

Were Psicosis and La Parka that big stars in Mexico that they were worthy of being emulated over there?
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 20, 2002 I mark for the Villanos! Are these the same ones from WCW, and if so, did the one who was about killed by Raven & Kanyon ever make a comeback after that injury?
Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 20, 2002 well Antonio Pena the owner of AAA thinks that he is Vince McMahon......remember fake Diesil and Razor Ramon? no wrestling on Univision but you must check out Don Francisco show Super Sabado Giante and Caliente which a dance show and the several Novelas that make Passions look like Dallas.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 20, 2002 yup Villano are regulars for CMLL and they are healthy as you can see let's awe at the great Rayo De Jalisco as he is the Bradshaw of Lucha Libre, watch as he slaps people silly and go for the high risk moves.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 20, 2002 Oh, lol, you have a point about the fake Ramon and Diesel stuff. I'll try to check out those shows you mention, and Rayo De Bradshaw will own you. So, ummm... ...are we the only two that watch, or care, about this?

Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 20, 2002 the next match should be a good one for the Tag Team title match. Ultimo Guerrero & Rey Bucannero vs Damian 666 & Halloween

I'll look for the others, and Damien 666 was in a J Cup tourny also, correct? I have all three of them, and I think I remember him being in it but I am not sure as it's been a while since I watched those shows. I also remember him, and all the others you listed, in WCW of course. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, latina women, I believe I shall watch this wrestling and this channel just for that! Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 20, 2002 Holy crap, that reply of the leg drop to the head on the apron was just rough. That spinning rock bottom type thing off the turnbuckle ruled also. :)

Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 20, 2002 Well I have my VCR ready for the tag title match Me too actually, I tape a LOT of wrestling, and yes, even WWE sometimes. I tape every cruiserweight match in WWE, and I have every single RVD match taped up untill just a couple of months ago (as many matches that would fit on a single VHS tape). I also tape various other matches on WWE TV, NWA Wildside when I can watch it, and other wrestling. I have quite a few tapes now, lol.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 20, 2002 this match should be good maybe go 15-30 minutes. Too bad Tarzan Boy is not on the show he looks just like Billy Kidman
Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 20, 2002 I have every Light Weight, Trios, Parajas CMLL title match from the last 6 months. I also have some AAA Light Weight title matches but they are lame as compared to CMLL so I usually go out to do yard work or get some sunlight when CMLL is over. Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 20, 2002 Holy sh*t, that move that Damien 666 just did just f*cking owned! Is there really someone named Tarzan Boy? :)

Oh Damn one of them is "hurt" Yes, that move was cool as hell, I've never seen anything like it before. Wow, Damian and Halloween work so damn well together. I would love to see them in WWE working against Kidman/Mysterio or something, that could just be awesome. Of course, they couldn't be as they are here, so, whatever.
