Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted July 20, 2002 When Brock debuted, I loved it and I started to be a big fan of him. He used to be the highlight of Raw and a good portion (if not everyone) on this board liked Brock within the first 2 months. But, the WWF/E/Whatever has shoved him down our throats so bad, that I've lost total intrest in the guy. I'm more intrested in seeing Batista than Brock these days. I think if the WWE had any brain power, they would kill the monster push after Summerslam when he Heyman leaves him because he lost, he becomes a face, and makes his way up again. Note to WWE: If you shove it down our throats, will puke it back at you. Period.

Guest Ram Report post Posted July 20, 2002 Goldberg/Nash. If Brock can make himself worth the hoopla, I'd care. But no matter how many times Flair lays down for him, he still won't make me give a shit. Get him a mic, and some time and freedom.

Guest HHH's 'Roid Needle Report post Posted July 20, 2002 Um, my problem with @*&%#$*#BROCK(*&^(^#( is not that the WWF is shoving him down our throats until gag reflex is reached, its that they are forcing him to work like the god damned Warlord, or like Undertaker Jr! Vince is an old man, who is stuck in his Old Man ways. If you are over 6'6", then you must work at Taker Speed. Punch..........stall......punch.....BEARHUG.....walk around.......mean grimace.....weak Mark Mero finisher........BORING. When Vince was shoving Bret Hart down our throats for his first 2 title runs, and even during the new Hart Foundation era, I ate that shit up with a spoon and slept with a smile on my face. I liked it. Good promos. Great matches. There was a EEEEEEEEEEEE in the WWF! Lesnar is handcuffed. The fans aren't sitting on their hands touching they're assholes through their bluejeans and trying to remember if they turned the oven off before they left during a Lesnar match because he's being shoved down their throats. They sit on their ass and act as if they're watching Undertaker vs. Giant Gonzalez because, in a sense, THEY ARE. They're bored by Lesnar. I'm bored by Lesnar. We're all bored by Lesnar. Its not his fault though. He does what they allow. So, until they actually let Lesnar WRESTLE, his matches will be the nationwide symbol for a bathroom break. A handcuffed Lesnar is the culinary equivalent of Dry Toast, Plain Oatmeal, and a glass of room temperature Tap Water. Its boring.
Guest DrEvil Report post Posted July 20, 2002 Good point, when Brock made that surprise debut I was busy painting in another room. I heard JR having his usual coronary seizure and totally ignored it until I heard "Brock". It was great how he came in, pulled off the F5 and totally destroyed whoever was in the ring, I looked forward to his surprise appearance and enjoyed seeing him pull off his power moves. Then the push began and he was saddled with "The Next Big Thing" name. I'll tell you who the next big thing is thank you. It doesn't help matters either that he's adopted the WWE style and has a total of 5 moves.

Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted July 21, 2002 The problem I have with Brock is that he doesn't have a character. Once they stopped the whole knockout endings business for Brock, I lost interest. What is the guy's reason for wanting the title (storywise)? And why should I hate the man like JR tells me to when he's screaming his ass off? In other words, why should I care? The only reason I can think of is that Heyman is with him. Brock is bland and uninteresting. He should dumped Heyman way earlier, now Heyman is an obstacle, character-wise. And if they're pushing this guy to the moon, no way should his matches be ending because of Heyman run-ins. Back to the character issues, why should I give a crap about Brock? Let me put it this way - I'll name four guys, and their motivations behind their actions (keep in mind this is all storyline wise): Rock - Believes he is the people's choice to be champion HHH - Wants to prove he is that damned good Taker - wants to prove he is the top dog in the yard Angle - Believes he should be the champion because he has won everywhere else (Olympics, NCAA, etc.) What is Brock? What makes him different from your generic WWE superstar? Why does he want the WWE title (And I mean Brock, not why Paul Heyman wants it, which seems to be the focus of every segment involving Brock)? They tagged him with the Next Big Thing label, but what does that mean? Chris Jericho has tagged himself "Larger than Life" and backs up that character in his promos and in the ring, by acting like an arrogant jackass. The fans hate that, and they boo Jericho more because of it. What about being "The Next Big Thing" is it that makes Brock different? All he is right now, really, is a generic wrestler who is getting a monster push based on look. Look has got him as far as he's going to go, now it's time to build a defineable character or he'll forever be seen as a Goldberg ripoff. Start doing things that make the fans know he is the Next Big Thing. Like tell off Rock saying that he was the past, and he is the future. Or something like that. It looks like the writers are beginning to build a character by preparing to split him from Heyman. That is good, cause right now myself and many other WWE fans, mark and smark, are saying the same thing...Why should we give a crap about Brock?
