Guest Trivia247 Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 Going at this from the other angle Who do you think would fit in the WWE, if they gave up the freedom of their moveset and get involved in a more character driven Fed, which puro wrestlers have the apparent attitude that they could make it in WWE (Plus consider them speaking English clearly to do Mic Work?)
Guest Black Tiger Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 Tiger Mask IV, Curry Man, and Minoru Tanaka would be great for the WWE Cruiserweight Division. If they didn't kill their movesets then Iizuka and Nagata would be great against guys like Angle and Benoit. Dangerous K would be mega over after he kicked the living shit out of someone.
Guest J*ingus Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 Kawada is a great worker. Kawada is also an ugly Japanese guy who can't speak English and works very stiff. Come on, be honest, Vince McMahon would never push a guy like that. The fact is, the WWE doesn't want Puro workers. The only ones they have are Tajiri and Funkai, and they do practically nothing with them, despite being good wrestlers with good charisma. The WWE wants clones of The Rock who cut witty promos and wrestle by punching and Irish whipping a whole lot.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 Kojima could probably get over pretty well, I would imagine.
Guest thefrenchargel Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 I bet they could use Yakushiji...if only because he's diminutive and would just take ruthless beatings while doing eye-popping highspots. him vs. rey...RANA MADNESS~!
Guest BionicRedneck Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 MUTA might get over, gimmick wise.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 Taue! HE'S DAMN SURE A HOSS, BY GAWD! kidding, kidding. I think Tenzan would work pretty well, shame WWA didn't do anything with him really.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 If Kawada was honest to God allowed to work his style in the WWE, He'd get over huge I bet. But that ain't happening. I always thought Ohtani would get over just for the fact that you ain't gotta speak English to be a dick like he is in the ring.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 Ohtani could get over the same way tajiri has, yeah. Except less goofy expressions and more just standing there like 'i'm going to hurt you quite a lot'. BITCHMASTER~! I'm sure Akiyama would fare pretty well in the US, if not strictly in wwe.
Guest Coffin Surfer Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 MUTA might get over, gimmick wise. Like I said in another thread that asked a similar question. MUTA DID GET OVER IN AMERICA. In the NWA he was the number two heel for quite a while in 89 behind Terry Funk. He even had some decent matches. But for the most part all he did was walk around, stick his fingers in his mouth, Mist! chinlock, handspring elbow, ribreaker, monnsault, goodnight. The reason he got over was because it was the late 80s U.S.A, and nobody had saw anything like that before. At that time in the U.S. Muta was one of the flashiest wrestlers on T.V. It wouldn't work in Todays WWE because everyone has already seen the luchadores, the juniors, and even big guys bust moves more flashier than Mutas. Plus the dark evil mysterious gimmick would get laughed at now days in America. People quit taking the Undertaker, Kane, and all that stuff serious. That's why Gangrel never got over and Edge/Christian had to become a comedy team.
Guest PlatypusFool Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 'Foolish Orphan Zero Knight' would get over... Muta could easily get over again given the chance and the build... Kobashi would have RULED in his prime, he has bags of charisma and if he'd have learnt English I don't think anything could have stopped him... Lyger is the best thing ever and I think he could get over as well...

Lyger is the best thing ever and I think he could get over as well... Kojima would be better off just doing his usual "charismatic lariat machine" character than his newest goofy persona. It would never be taken seriously. Did you see Muta's last run in WCW? WORSTE COMEBACK EVER!!! Mutoh, despite his hope of getting over in America again, probably never will, under any gimick. He's a disgrace. He can speak perfect English, though. I'm pretty sure Kobashi can speak english too. In his prime, he would have ruled for sure. Lyger has been in WCW and did get over. Well, jobbing to a Taquilla bottle would have killed his heat, had he stuck around, but that's neither here nor there.
Guest Vyce Posted July 23, 2002 Report Posted July 23, 2002 The WWE wants clones of The Rock who cut witty promos and wrestle by punching and Irish whipping a whole lot. And with one sentence, Jingus has summed up the entire Vince McMahon era.
Guest The Son of Sting Posted July 23, 2002 Report Posted July 23, 2002 Tenzan could get over as a heel if given the chance.
