Guest wwF1587 Report post Posted July 22, 2002 Well I for one liked this show. I would go thumbs up for this ppv for these reasons. - Booker T, flying all around and doing crazy spots. Gotta love it... sucka. - HHH was short(er) than expected and lead to some questions about a DX return and what the hell steph meant by ripping the heart of RAW. Thus you want to tune in. Or I do. - RVD flying around everywhere, hell even though the booking wasn't all there, and Brock still fails to impress me, RVD continued to show why HE should be at SummerSlam - Cruiserweight match, should of been longer, yes, but it was good for what it was. I wish they would give those guys more time as I was impresssed. - Jericho helps Canada win tag titles, perhaps joining team canada? YEAH! - The main event was actually entertaining and somewhat excitting! After months of horrible main events, Vengence was a breath of fresh air. Yeah the title changes way to much, and the rock winning is pointless but thats WWE logic. Luckily they didn't f--- this show up soo badly and the wrestling saved it from being one of the worse of the year. I wasn't looking forward to this show much at all but it was a good show. Guest mickberna Report post Posted July 22, 2002 Thumbs up. I liked everything about this show except the Rock victory which was obviously predictable due to his highness main eventing Summerslam.
Guest Shaved Bear Report post Posted July 22, 2002 thumbs leaning up... good matches, questionable booking
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted July 22, 2002 Thumbs up. It was loads better than I expected it to be and was, from a wrestling standpoint, probably the best WWE PPV so far this year.
Guest I Fear Hogans Air Guitair Report post Posted July 22, 2002 I would say it was a thumbs up show and I couldn't Belive the quality of the matches far better than any WWE PPV this year. Altough the RVD Lesnar match was good the finsh sucked but atleast RVD didn't lose.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted July 22, 2002 Thumbs in the middle. Average undercard and a good main event. Nothing was offensive, except Eddy/Benoit losing, and HHH taking up 30 mins of PPV time.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted July 22, 2002 lesnar's best match, booker fucking WON, a decent main and christian n lance won, i enjoyed it.
Guest Si82 Report post Posted July 22, 2002 Thumbs up. I really enjoyed it for some reason. Probably becuase the last few PPV's have sucked. Booker T WON A MATCH ON PPV!!!, Team Canada win the tag team titles, a good main event. Only Michael Cole commentating, Jim Ross' fuck concerning Wrestlemania VI, and the Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Shawn Michaels love fest which I really fucking hated! Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted July 22, 2002 I rather liked Vegeance. Some good matches all over the card, and the first non-crap main event in a long time.
Guest SteveyP93 Report post Posted July 22, 2002 I thought Vengeance was an awesome ppv, probably the best in terms of quality work rate since the Rumble. Was I pissed that Guerrero and Benoit lost to the Dudleys? Yeah, but I was more impressed with the solid table match they had, a match that was not only a solid opener, but also a match that set the tone for the whole night. I was completely into the match. Jamie Noble vs. Kidman was also very good, a good cruiser match with a good story. And Kidman didn't wear his ugly tights again, so the match was fine with me. Hardy and Regal sucked, but that was to be expected. But it was kept short. I'm still unsure how I feel about the downfall of Chris Jericho, but his match with Cena was excellent, very well done with good fast paced action. I love Jericho, would love to see him main eventing (especially now that the wild beard is coming back), but he made the most out of his less than desirable spot. RVD and Brock absolutely tore the house down in there match, a match i was certain would be the match of the night until the main event came along. RVD was awesome as usual, and Brock really stepped up and played his part in making a memorable IC Title match. For all the talk about the crowd being silent for Brock, I heard them pretty loudly during this match. I really like Brock, and to see his first really good ppv match was exciting. Booker T and Big Show was terrible, but not only was it short, but we got to see the table spot and the hangover, which made the match 5 times more exciting than I ever could have hoped. The tag match was really well done, and exciting for me. As a Lance Storm fan and a Christian fan for that matter, who was upset about all the times they spent jobbing on Heat, to see them in the semi main, against Hulk Hogan no less, was awesome. People may say that they weren't over enough for the spot, but they are such good wrestlers that it was great to see their sudden climb in the card. I hope it keeps up, and after they actually won the match, I was ecstatic. It was a good, solid tag match. The main event, which I thought would grace the *** mark, completely shocked me. By the end, and after I had watched it a second time, I would not hesitate to give it ****1/2-*****. Everything about the match was incredible, suspenseful. Finishers were flying, Angle was ON in a way I haven't seen him since SummerSlam of last year, Taker was better than expected, and the Rock was his awesome self. Even the ending, with Taker a split second too slow to save his title, came across seamlessly. Out of a match that I expected little to get by far the best main event of the year was shocking. Besides Mania's bigger than life feel that made it THE event of 2002, Vengeance in my mind is the best ppv the WWE has put on this year. Hopefully SummerSlam keeps the momentum going... Guest nikowwf Report post Posted July 22, 2002 Thumbs Up, mainly due to the great main event. If the main event wasn't as good, I'd lean more down. Niko

Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted July 22, 2002 The PPV (didn't see it) read to be a pretty alright one. Nothing really surprising happen tho, i'mma sucka for surprises.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted July 22, 2002 I also really enjoyed the PPV. It seemed to fly by which I have never been able to say before this PPV. Table match had a disappointing finish, but those table spots were vicious and I really enjoyed some of the psychology like Benoit whipping Spike into the table, and Bubba tackling him to save for the team. *** Hardy/Regal was lame and should have just been left off the card. They missed spots, called them out loud and just looked like they had no idea what to do. 1/2 * Booker and Show was decent yet it really had my on my feet because Booker busted his ass! I never thought he'd fly around like that again and for him to hit a picture perfect Harlem Hangover was just a great markout moment. I can't believe he has that kind of agility for his age. ** Cena and Jericho pissed me off because Jericho lost clean, but they made it seem like Jericho had the match but wanted to show off. He pretty much joined team canada probably in the lead role, so that sets up Edge/Jericho at SS, which would mean Jericho would still be pretty high on that card. *** 1/2 Tag match was good for what it was, of course Hogan dragged it and Edge busted his ass. Good title switch but damn titles get passed around like they are nothing these days. *** I could care less where HHH went, but some of the viginettes involving he and Steph and Bischoff were pretty cool. HBK coming out came out out of nowhere to me because I totally forgot about the whole nWo angle. Cruiser match was solid work and Knoble used awesome psychology on the arm. Not too much high stuff but the match itself was excellent. *** 3/4 RVD/Brock was almost formulatic, but it was good. Brock sold very well and RVD was everywhere. Crowd ate it up and it made the match intriguing. Finish was lame, but I guess Paul had to do it. I just hope Brock gets rid of him or he gets his from RVD to keep him from interfering in EVERY match. *** 1/2 The main even kicked all kinds of ass. Taker busted his ass and Angle carried that whole thing on his shoulders. Rock was his usual peppy self and Angle just blew everyone away, he came out looking real strong until the end. The false finishes and trading off of finishing moves was very well executed. I was jumping up and down because I didn't want Rock to win, so the suspense was great. Him winning pissed me off because the WWE is really pissing on their title, but Taker wasn't pinned and the match rocked so no complaints here. **** Thumbs up. Guest candie45 Report post Posted July 22, 2002 Thumbs leaning up, but could have been a thumbs straight in the air if 1. Benoit/Guererro won, 2. Jericho won while making Cena look good, and 3. Cruiser match was given more time. Other than that, the main event was great, very enjoyable. Booker doing the table spot and hangover was a great way to distract our attention from the horrible Big Show. Triple H only took up 20 minutes instead of my estimated 30 minutes, and it really helped that there were 3 other people out there that could talk instead of him. RVD kept his match against Brock exciting and really carried Brock's ass to his best match. Good use of PaulE. Team Canada winning the titles was great, and the Jericho interference was good too. If it weren't for that off booking....
Guest Si82 Report post Posted July 22, 2002 What did JR say about WMVI? I mean't to say "fuckup" not just "fuck" first of all. As for Wrestlemania VI it was what he said about Wrestlemania III. He said that Edge was at Wrestlemania III in his "HULK RULES" t-shirt to see Hulk Hogan take on the Warrior. He then corrected himself and said it was actually Wrestlemania VI that it happened and then went on to claim the Wrestlemania III took place in Detriot. Close J.R., but no cigar. Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted July 22, 2002 good stuff: the main event was hot! hot! hot! and was easily **** IMO. all three guys worked their asses off but it would have been nicer for angle to win the title. jericho possibly joining team canada. first off i really hope the wwf isn't going to stick with the nickname "the anti-americans" for the canadian group. unless they planning on including other foreigners who aren't from canada they should stick with a name like team canada. still it was good to see jericho helping his countrymen win the tag titles. booker t finally got that big win over the big show in a match that was great but it certainly wasn't the worst on the card. the scissor kick through the announce table was awesome as was the 360 legdrop from the top. the opener was a pretty hot a decent match too I though. everything up until all the table bumps was good and i'm surprised how good those four work together. bad stuff: since the wwe is now that bastard child of the wwf and wcw, why do they feel they need to compete with themselves. the whole hhh interview was a huge waste of time because no matter what he is going to stick with the wwe. the cruiserweight match could have been better but noble nailed kidman with that tiger bomb to win the match. the finish of the rvd/lesnar match. why have heyman causing dq's for lesnar when he could do it himself? it makes lesnar look weak I think and pisses me off as well because he doesn't need a bunch of cheap wins and losses. Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted July 22, 2002 I agree on the point about Lesnar, dreamer. I'm all for having Heyman there, but brock shouldn't need heyman's help to beat guys like test, much less anyone else.

Guest godthedog Report post Posted July 22, 2002 funny how there's 2 non-pinned vengeance threads and they both misspelled vengeance... anyway, thumbs up for the show. it sucked the major dick of mediocrity at the beginning, but the momentum started going with rvd/lesnar (which i thought was good, aside from the horrible finish), & it kept getting better all the way through the main event. the wrong guy won the title, and that string of finishers/near falls went on a little too long & became ridiculous, but it did have me on the edge of my seat actually wondering who would win.
