Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted July 23, 2002 Actually, Kurt Angle was the third man to hold the Euro-Continental belt. Jeff Jarrett beat D-Lo for both belts. Just so ya know. EDIT: Oh yeah. This is actually technically the Euro-US-Continental belt. Jesus, the fuckin thing is damn near a world title...
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted July 23, 2002 I think unifying the Euro/US/IC titles all together makes it even more worthy. Now, they should make it like WCW used to do (or claimed they did) that once the IC champ loses the belt, he gets a shot at the Undisputed Title. That would be cool. Yea, but I think if the WWE did that there'd be a lot of title shots that were "forgotten", or a lot of titles hot-shotted at the last minute to set up a PPV match. Or, if done right, it could mean long, meaningful, IC title reigns. Then again, I thought RVD was supposed to make the IC title his new TV title, which would mean no World Title shots for two years... do you REALLY want to see a two-year Brock reign as champion? Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted July 23, 2002 Eh. Actually, it's been worthless since Shawn Michaels literally laid down for Triple H after he beat the British Bulldog for it...in BRITAIN. Which means that's it's been worthless almost the entire time it's existed. Yep.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 23, 2002 We all thought the WWF IC title was dead the minute Godfather touched it and Jeff Jarrett just about killed it before giving it to Chyna for the Last Rites but it came back again thanks to RVD. Who knows if Jeff Hardy could have kickstarted the Euro title.

Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted July 23, 2002 Euro title hasn't been anything since it was a centerpiece of the Owen-Bulldog feud that built to the Hart Foundation angle. Owen-Bulldog in the Euro tourney finals on RAW was also the best match for the belt.

Guest Razor Roman Report post Posted July 23, 2002 What do you think this means for the Titles situation? Will it be Hardcore/IC on RAW and Tag on SmackDown? OR Do they pull an angle to give each show their own midcard singles title? (This plan would probably make Smarks happy because it could get one of their faves away from HHH) In a total coup Stephanie McMahon signs away the WWE Intercontinental Champion from RAW (It could be RVD, Benoit, or even Booker T, from where I sit), and, out of desparation, Bischoff re-creates the US Title and gives it to the Big Show... like Vince giving Mick the Hardcore title so many years ago.... If they really want to shake things up, maybe have RVD show up on SmackDown, and throw the IC Title in the trash, saying he doesn't want anything to do with RAW... and Stephanie presents him with the new SmackDown! TV title... so Bischoff follows and creates a new RAW TV title... It kind of makes sense, there would be a "RAW" Champ, a "Smackdown" champ, and an "Undisputed" champ, and then the term undisputed would have meaning (although a new meaning" again, being the best out of the 2 shows. (Or as far as Vince is concerned, the best in the world)
Guest EQ Report post Posted July 23, 2002 What do you think this means for the Titles situation? Will it be Hardcore/IC on RAW and Tag on SmackDown? Smackdown's also got the cruiser belt. I like both of your ideas though. Both would be cool to see, but I doubt either will happen =(
Guest BorneAgain Report post Posted July 23, 2002 The only bad thing about the European title being unified is that Smackdown still doesn't have a number two title like Raw does. Maybe D-von can become the champion when someone puts the Euro belt on the collection plate as a donation.

Guest ryankeast Report post Posted July 23, 2002 Getting rid of The Euro Title is a Great idea, but I do still fell they need a mid card belt for Smackdown and float the Tag Titles. Smackdown keeps the Crusierweight. Raw keeps the Hardcore (But if your gonna keep it scrap the shitty 24/7 rule) I'm likeing the re-establishing of the Intercontinental belt - RVD, Eddie Guerreo, Beniot and Booker all feuding over the Title will give it a lot more prestige. Guest Redhawk Report post Posted July 24, 2002 For some reason I see this turning into an angle where William Regal is offended that the European title is "worthless" and fights to get it re-instated. It would be corny, but it could happen.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted July 24, 2002 Willy can stop crying now and just pick the belt up out of the trash and keep it. Damn that angle pisses me off, yet it is so funny considering regal has that glorious reputation.

Anyway, am I the only one who liked Angle's, Benoit's, Jericho's, Rikishi's (somewhat) and Val's title reigns in 2000? I think the I-C Title had some good heat on it until they put the title on that Chyna impersonator at SummerSlam 2000.

It would be corny, but it could happen. I think that'd be funny, or at least have him try and fail. Otherwise, what was the point of him crying over losing the Euro title matches to Jeff Hardy? I thought the whole point of that was to try and make the belt mean something again, only to have them turn around the next day and get rid of it all together. It really didn't make sense - and screamed of booking on the fly, unless there are... darker plans for Mr. Regal. Maybe this will work into a feud with Jeff Hardy, because not only did Hardy beat him for the Euro belt, but Hardy's also the one who lost the belt forever?
