Guest massivHEDtrauma Report post Posted July 23, 2002 I think that Brock moving to Smackdown is a good move. Why? Smackdown, as everyone has said since the brand extension began, has more top-level talent than Raw, which will not only help Brock out with the portions of his game that need a little improvement (of which there are a vast many), but it should also establish him much more than being on Raw ever would. This is because there is, truthfully, no one to elevate Brock properly on Raw. The only ones that could do it (aside from The Rock, of course) would be HHH and RVD, and we all know HHH won't lay down for someone like Brock unless Heyman interferes, he gets bashed with the steel steps, and his foot is on the ropes making the ref's call invalid anyways. And, well, as our little smarky selves have said time and time again, no one wants to see Brock destroy RVD over and over on a consistent loop. Also, even though it pisses me off on occasion, Brock is one of the very few people who I could see seriously benefit from a little audio dubbing. If people see on TV just a few times the reaction a monster heel like Brock is supposed to get, even if it is dubbed, it should rub off in no time. Brock is already getting a bit more heat than he ever has anyways (admittedly not much, but still, it isn't cricket-chirp silence as it used to be), so hopefully they won't go overboard with it and, instead, actually make it somewhat believable - his heat should just marginally increase every show. Hell, with Heyman booking Brock, they might not even need to do that. With the way Heyman booked guys like Rhyno and Tazz in ECW, I'm betting that this first Smackdown we will maybe/hopefully see something done with Brock that we actually like because of Heyman. As if you couldn't tell, I like Brock. From what little I've seen of Brock's OVW stuff, he can wrestle well given time. I have somewhat high expectations from the Summer Slam match with Rocky. However, I am upset he is getting a monster push when he is still green as hell and there are others that deserve it more. But I do want to see Brock succeed. I think his best chances lie with Smackdown because of these reasons. Anyone agree/disagree? And dammit, if he is to win at Summer Slam, I damn well hope he pulls out the greatest shooting star press in the world today for the finish!
Guest thebigjig Report post Posted July 23, 2002 I'm all for it... if it leads to an eventual Angle/Brock match with a a pure technical/amatuer style similar to Angle/Benoit from WM 17, I'll be a happy man

Guest mach7 Report post Posted July 23, 2002 It's a stupid continuity error on WWE's part, IMO. What the hell was the point of having Taker blast him with that cane, if he can't face him since he's on the other show now. Sure, revenge from last weeks tag match makes sense - but two cracks with a cane is all they're going to let Taker get? Give me a break. Not only that, but the last thing that RAW needs is to be losing talent to the bloated Thursday roster. I hope this is a "swerve" of some sort..
Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted July 23, 2002 I think it's a good idea that Brock's been moved to a taped show, because they can now dub in some heat/crowd noise for when he's announced, in the ring, doing his moves, etc. Anything would be better than the relative apathy that's now prevalent when he's onscreen. Maybe if the home audience thinks that he's over it will help him actually get over.
Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted July 23, 2002 NL5XSK1 you stole the words out of my mouth, and in truth thats the only reason why they move the unover Brock to SD, the WWE will edit everytime Brock fucks up and put some canned crowd noises instead of the crickets we been hearing on RAW lately.
