Scott Keith idea on Booker T interview

Recommended Posts

Guest HartFan86
Booker needs to do a super-delayed tagline, where he does the “Can you dig it…” early in the show and then disappears without a trace, before reappearing out of nowhere during someone’s interview in the last quarter-hour and finishing with the “sucka!” to scare the hell out of the interviewer.

I would laugh so hard if that happened. Discuss...what do you think would be funny for Booker to do in an interview?

That'd be pretty funny. He could do it during a Regal interview and William could make one of those great faces.

Just thinking of that got me laughing my ass off. What an idea that would be.

They should only only let it last for a commercial break and have him say it when they come back from commercial.

It sounds like fun, but it would probably lose something in the actual act.

Back in the fall of '99 when SmackDown first started, my roommate and I had one of those late-night falling asleep conversations about how funny it would be if the Rock closed a RAW by saying "If ya smelll what the Rock...."

and then opened SmackDown with "Is cookin!"

We giggled like morons for a while, and then he said "If ya smell what the rock..."

and then woke me up at 6:30 the next morning to by tapping me on the shoulder, and when I turned around ask him what the hell he was doing, all he said was "Is cooking."

Good times. Our dorm room was truly "The People's Dormroom"

i think it would be a stupid idea. booker is already over, and this would really do nothing for him except insert him into meaningless segments. Sucka as a phrase is over huge, and book has already established himself outside the ring. now, he needs to back it up in the ring, and get the fans into his matches, not just his gimmicks (ala how the fans pop the entire rock match, not just for the elbow (spinaroonie) at the end). let him bust out the harlem hangover, let him be different, but get him in the ring, give him some credible threats and he is made. an asinine interview gimmick wont do anything for him at this stage.

Asinine interview gimmicks do everything for wrestlers. An ansinine gimmick is used to bring some attention to the wrestler, then when they have the talent to do something with the attention, they take off. Something like that would really get Booker noticed and have everyone waiting and wondering when he's gonna strike with the "Suckaaaa". With the talent he has, all he needs is something to make the fans wait and want more.

they already wait and want more. booker is over, this gimmick would then become more than the character, causing book to become a gimmick rather than a wrestler. he doesnt need that, he is over, all he needs is credible victories.

Good point, credible victories are the most important thing that he needs now to prove he is a credible competitor. But I still like the idea and think fans would eat it up.

Did Tommy Fierro post his idea yet? His last one was breathtaking and certainly called for in his wrestling column. I absolutely cannot wait on his new one!!

It could work if they had him do it at different points in the show, like having him unexpectedly burst into Bischoff's office during another segment just to scream "SUCKAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" Imagine, you're suffering through a Matt Hardy vs. Justin Credible match when suddenly, the Book appears on the titantron to liven up everyone's day with a "SUCKAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Good times for all.

Heh...Booker T has a promo at the very beginning of the show, and ends with "Can you dig it...?"

At the start of the second hour, Bischoff is talking with somebody (read: somebody with talent), then Booker T pops out of nowhere and gets in both of their faces yelling "SUCKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" which prompts Bischoff to make a match between the person and Booker T.

Here's my version:

at about, say, 9:23 pm, he does the promo ending with a "Can you dig that..."

Then, at least one commercial break later, when whoever he was cutting a promo on has a match, he runs down, grabs a microphone and shouts "SUCKA!!!" at the top of his lungs. This causes the target to become unnerved and get rolled up for an upset pin. Just to go all out, wait an hour and a half and have him do it during the main event...

Now, obviously, this would only work well if done once in a great while or once period, and the WWE "creative" [wink wink nudge nudge] team would run it into the ground constantly and make it just plain stupid after 3 weeks. But it'd be funny the first time.

Sort of like how when Chris Kanyon was doing "Positively Kanyon" and he'd "Kanyon Cutter" somebody, and then run to a camera, no matter how long it took him to get there, and yell "BANG~!"

I'd think it was really funny, but 90% of the audience would have no idea what the hell was going on. So I bet they'll do it.

Those random Kanyon Kutters were one of the funniest thing in WCW towards the end. They cut to the back and I go "Why the hell are they showing this useless stage hand" then all of a sudden, Kanyon comes out of nowhere and hits the Kutter, the "bang" into the camera just added to it.

Booker gives an interview early in the show and does the "Can you dig that?"

Later on, during on of those "So-an-so is WALKING" segments, Booker can be seen in the background, consulting the hand and seemingly headed somewhere.

Later on, during one of Terri's horrible interviews with someone useless like Bradshaw, Booker comes out of nowhere with "SUCKAAAA!"

or he's set up to have a match with someone, and he gets in their face backstage somewhere towards the beggining (like the first half hour) and ends it with 'Can you dig that...'

and have the match be either main event or the match before, and have his opponent do a pre-match interview and have him come up and say 'Suckaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!'

yeah...

   <_<

i was thinking redhawk's version. But heck, if the just did it once there's no way it could ever DIMINISH his heat, why not?

The greatest way to get Booker T over would be to have him squash a heel HHH. Either that or punk out Michael Cole
