Guest Si82 Posted July 23, 2002 Report Posted July 23, 2002 Can anyone tell me how long SKY have been broadcasting WWF PPV's live on TV. And also on what channels. Didn't the PPV's used to be broadcast of SKY Movies +? and when did they switch them to SKY Sports and with what event? Also if anyone has or knows of anyone how has WWF PPV's taped from SKY TV please reply with any information you might have. Cheers.
Guest The Son of Sting Posted July 23, 2002 Report Posted July 23, 2002 The first i can remember was Royal Rumble 91 although my friend thinks WM 6 might of been the first. Your right in saying that they used to show them on Sky Movies.
Guest Graeme Wilkinson Posted July 23, 2002 Report Posted July 23, 2002 The first PPV shown on Sky Sports was Summerslam 1992. This is because it was the first PPV after Sky Sports became a subscription channel. PPVs were previously shown on Sky Movies Plus so that people had to subscribe in order to get the shows.
Guest the 1inch punch Posted July 23, 2002 Report Posted July 23, 2002 The annoying thing was, during Summerslam 92 they showed little bits of it everyonce in a while to show you what you were missing
Guest MasterMadness Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 The first ever live PPV we got was SummerSlam 1989, which I think was on Sky One. The first ever PPV we got was WrestleMania V but it was broadcast several months after the event.

The first ever PPV we got was WrestleMania V but it was broadcast several months after the event. So was Wrestlemania V broadcast on Sky One? Also when did they start showing these events on Sky Movies? I remember seing Royal Rumble round mt cousins house but I don't remember what channel it was on. Also anyone got any WWF events taped live from Sky TV for sale or where I could get them? Cheers, guys!
Guest MasterMadness Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 Wrestlemania V was definetely broadcast on Sky One. Royal Rumble 1990 was the 2nd live PPV we got and that was on Sky Movies, so I would guess SummerSlam 1989 was as well.
Guest Caliban Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 Does anyone had the tape of Summerslam 92 from Sky Sports, where the event is split into two, and inbetween there's about 15 minutes of Richard Keys (IIRC) talking about football? I thought that was really annoying. And who remembers the Atmosfear commercials?
Guest Graeme Wilkinson Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 They clipped Repo Man vs Crush to make room for the intermission.
Guest the 1inch punch Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 And who remembers the Atmosfear commercials? Worse, I have AtmosFear
Guest Si82 Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 OK, another question for you guys. When did SKY start showing Raw? I think it was around late 1995 but I'm not sure. I remember it being on a week delay so we were always a week behind the U.S. Can anyone help?
Guest Marshall Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 It would be great if they showed some of the old PPVs agian
