After much stalling...

That's right, 30 bucks at Crazy Burt's video games got me a Playstation and a copy of Smackdown! I'm going to be getting Chrono Trigger and DDR Konamix as well, but I need suggestions on what other games I should get to make an impressive library.

Suggest away! Please!

Er... do you mean Chrono Cross, or Chrono Trigger as part of FFChronicles?

Anywho, uh...

If you're an RPG'er, then get Final Fantasy Anthologies (for FF6), get FF7, FF9, and maybe FF Tactics. FF8 is pure garbage.

Smackdown!2, while flawed, is pretty fun.

Silent Hill, if you want a good horror movie/game with incredibly bad voice acting.

$30 isn't too bad, could have come up with a little bit better, but not much(if we're talking US $). Have you played any PS1 games? I'd reccomend Metal Gear Solid, Driver 2, The Italian Job, Dead or Alive, Grandia, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill. That'd be a great starting collection if added to what you already plan to get. If you don't want to buy that many, at least check out a few of them, you won't be disappointed.

Whoops, I meant Chrono Cross. My mistake, Raynor. And thanks for the suggestions; I already have FF7 for PC, but FF9 and Tactics would be great.

I've heard a lot about Metal Gear and Driver 2, so maybe I'll check those out as well.

If you're into racing, then get Gran Tourismo 1 and 2 as well as Ridge Racer 4. The Tekken series is STILL pretty fun to play as well.

Thoth says I'm wrong, but for a cheap and fun 2D fighter, Marvel vs Capcom (a bastardized Arcade version - It's tiding me over til the sequel comes out on PS2) is a good pick.

Chrono Cross = good idea.

Hmmm... I can't think of much more, mainly because my collection was so puny... I always liked Battle Arena Toshinden 2, very old 3D fighter, but I haven't played it in years...

What I've played of MGS was very good (blows the sequel away), but I haven't gotten all the way through it.

If your a wrestling fan, get WCW vs. The World. While old, is the best WCW game on it, is cheap, and has a control scheme alot like the Revenge/No Mercy games.

Oddworld games are good.Tales Of Destiny is a good rpg, has the most Minigames I have ever seen..serously, theres a whole extra continent after you beat the game, groovy fighting too.

Twisted Metal 2. Stay away from all the other TM games, though.

I got Smackdown 2 in the "Greatest Hits" bin at Wal-Mart last week for $19.99. I saw Gran Turismo 2 in there for 14.99.

This isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I find Hot Shots Golf to be entertaining.

My essentials:

~Metal Gear Solid~

Tekken 2 or 3 (About equivalent, 3 is more modern, but 2 has better characters/music/endings, so either way)

Soul Blade

Final Fantasy 7

Final Fantasy Anthology

Final Fantasy Chronicles

Suikoden

Suikoden 2

Vagrant Story

Castlevania:Symphony of the Night

Gran Turismo 1 or 2 (2 is better, but a little buggy)

DDR:USA (Hey, it has 20 songs that aren't in Konamix, that's easily worth a purchase!)

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, for sure, Mag-inator.

If you've already played the Final Fantasy/Chrono Trigger games on SNES...don't bother with Anthology or Chronicles. The sound is really messed up for some reason, like they screwed up with the transfer to CD.

Chrono Cross was one of my favorite games, period, until the really crappy last couple hours. Oh well. Harle's a fox.

Vagrant Story's also awesome...really, the great thing about PSOne is that all the games are cheap as hell now. Huzzah.

Do not buy Driver 2!

The Original is far better.

Driver 2 suck the biggest cock ever!

That is only 15% hyperbole.

Okay it's 25%.

I've got both Anthologies and Chronicles - a few sound effects here and there are bugged, but nothing really noticeable, I thought. My only problem with those is the loading times, and for FF6, I'm willing to wait.

And Kid outfoxes Harle any day of the week.

You should also get Xenogears. One of the best games ever made.
