Guest hardygrrl Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 For me, it's Mucky Pup. An East Coast garage punk band from the early Nineties who just recently re-formed. You can hear all their old stuff here.
Guest Narcoleptic Jumper Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 Butch Walker/Marvelous 3 Angie Aparo Athenaeum Bodyjar Probably a few more, but I can't think of them.
Guest treble charged Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 Well, outside of some Canadians are even fewer Americans, no one's ever heard of treble charger, so I'll put them in that category.
Guest BifEverchad Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 Well, outside of some Canadians are even fewer Americans, no one's ever heard of treble charger, so I'll put them in that category. One of the best Canadian bands ever. Not to mention Gob, who recently signed a big record deal with Arista records? Well whoever it was, I think they're gonna be big. Perhaps the next biggest band to come out of Canadian. Well sorta like Sum 41 or Nickelback did...
Guest Shaved Bear Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 well three years ago I'd say SOAD, but we all know how that turned out... i guess nevermore isnt too popular

Guest M Nyland Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 the band "ANYONE" not many people know of them
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 Shaved Bear, it's funny you said Nevermore, because I was listening to their s/t debut on Century Media earlier today... I'd say Shadows Fall if they never had that small MTV exposure (which actually had most of my friends thinking of me, since Shadows Fall is currently my favorite band), so I'll say... BEYOND THE EMBRACE

Guest Sebastian_the_Bastard Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 Bad Astronaut The Contingency Plan (my guess for the next big emo band) Cursive Lagwagon (sure, they're heard of... but not very) Student Rick I love you all!!!, Sebastian the Bastard
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 Allendale. Matthew Good Band (I'm sure people know them but nobody on this board pimps them nearly enough)
Guest Incandenza Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 Well, outside of Kinetic and maybe Edwin MacPhisto, I don't think anyone here has heard of Death Cab for Cutie, my favorite modern day band.
Guest sk8420kid Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 Aerogramme Airplanes Are Better Burning Airlines Ghosts and Vodka GoGoGo Airheart Hundred Reasons Man... Or Astroman Universal Recovered
Guest Addy Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 The Beatles. On a more serious note: GWAR (Okay so quite a few people know who they are), Mortiis.
Guest Renegade Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 - Onedice - Skindred - The Mad Capsule Markets
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Posted July 24, 2002 Report Posted July 24, 2002 L.I.E., The Moony Suzuki, Shadow's Fall, The Atomic Bitchwax, and Alabama Thunderpussy.
Guest LooseCannon Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Well, outside of Kinetic and maybe Edwin MacPhisto, I don't think anyone here has heard of Death Cab for Cutie, my favorite modern day band. I've only heard "Something About Airplanes," and that's an awesome cd, but I don't own it yet. I've been meaning to check out some of their stuff for a while. And I'll throw in Dr. Octagon as a guy few people have heard of. And Swearing At Motorists, a lo fi band from Dayton Oh.
Guest Kinetic Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 The weird thing is that in real life situations, my taste in music seems mind-bendingly strange and radical. No one I know has even heard of most of the stuff I like. On the Internet, though, my CD collection seems pretty tame compared to a lot of stuff. I can't even think of a band that I listen to that would be foreign to everyone here.
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Liquid Tension Experiment is awesome
Guest KANE Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 2 Skinnee J's--The Brooklyn rap group that has 2 albums out, and remembers how great the "pah-tay" days of rap were. If you can see them in concert, please do.
Guest Sebastian_the_Bastard Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 I've heard of Death Cab! They any good? What kind of music? Male/female vocalist? What band do they sound like? Thanks. I love you all!!!, Sebastian the Bastard
Guest cynicalprofit Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Rehab, Kelis, Ani Difranco(some may know fo her0
Guest raptor Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Ani Difranco comes to my hometown a lot (Arcata, California). Not too big a fan, but I don't hate her (which is a pretty big compliment from me) . My band: 8stops7. They had a minor (and I stress minor) hit on MTV-2 with "Question Everything," but never went anywhere.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 The Melvin's YES. I think Stag's one of the best albums ever made.
Guest Nevermortal Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Mortiis. Mortiis is godlike. More bands: End It The Project Hate MCMXCIX Lock Up Bal Sagoth Zyklon
