Guest deadbeater Report post Posted July 24, 2002 Molly is considered to have the best work ethic of any wrestler, man or woman, at least in WWE. She helps train the other Divas with Fit and Dean Malenko so that they don't totally suck in the ring. She also takes on the veterans Jacqueline and Ivory, and learned a lot from them. A rare diva, she eschews bra and panty matches with her virginial persona (which she is in real-life), and it works in her favor. She is stuck with a very bad angle, but it is not stopping her from performing exceedingly well in every show, if only for short periods of time. Still, she must not be satisfied that she has for the last four years in WCW and WWF she has to carry most if not all of the women's matches she's in, and the division as a whole is considered eye candy. She needs a real challenge, a challenge that she had a taste of when she first entered into wrestling. For her title to have any credibility, she has to do some work in Japan challenging the top joshi there. IMHO, Molly has to meet and maybe defeat some joshi heroines like Toyota and Inoue and monster heels like Dump and Aja, in Japanese gyms, Bodukan Hall, and the Egg Dome, in order to retain the luster the WWF/E Women's Championship once had. As she already more or less practices puroresu, thanks to Dean and her RVD-like blend of strengh and balance, she can fit right in. There are problems, I know. First, she is smaller than the average joshi. And the top joshi demonstrate a massive endurance and resilliance that Molly has definitely not have experience against, although recently it has not come into play in some shows. Also, the only high-caliber wrestlers she has fought in the past year were Ivory and Jacqueline. It is not know how that comes into play. So, in sum, how would Molly fare challenging the best in Japan?
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted July 24, 2002 Personally I dont think she'd stand a a chance at all. She'd have to blade, take head/neck bumps maybe, have far longer matches then she's ever seen outside of gimmick timed matches. Shed have to create stories, be far far stiffer, get lots more moves in and do them well. There's just no compearing it at all. Joshi is just something totally other, and I doubt unless she'd trained all the time to be a serious Joshi wrestler that she could do it. She could probably make more money as a bit of lite T&A than taking a second rope WitchCraft. And there's the fact she might not have much crediblity for working in WWE and doing things like bra and panties matches.
Guest welshjerichomark Report post Posted July 24, 2002 i think she has a chance, she has shown she has the skills and the athletic ability, she just has to train like a mad-women she is the best wrestler since alundra blayze, and she did it so why can't molly? Guest deadbeater Report post Posted July 26, 2002 Dace, Molly is the one woman who does not get into b+p matches.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted July 26, 2002 Dace, have you been watching the series of matches that Molly, Trish, and Jazz have been working over the last few months? If not, they're a far cry from most American women's wrestling, they've had Fit Finlay working with them as a trainer and road agent.
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted July 26, 2002 Yes I have been, and they have been very good in comperission. Maybe she could make it yes. But is it really worth it for her. And if these improvements continue, we dont want to ship off a key piece of the improvements in womens wrestling in the US.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted July 26, 2002 Let's put it this way: Of all the women in the WWE, she'd stand the best chance in working with the joshis.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted July 26, 2002 She'd certainly stand the best chance of any woman in the WWE, with Jazz also having a shot. But their chances of making it there are still slim to none. As Dace said, joshi is a completley different animal than what she or her men counterparts are used to. Lets put it this way...most of the male WWE superstars would get killed with the joshi crowd. Poor Molly would at best be a jobber. Thats at best. At worst, she dies in her first match and they sacrifice her to their God Mumrah.
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted July 27, 2002 I dont think it would be that bad. But I'd be in favoure of keeping her in the US, getting more training, hadving maybe Malenko and Ace, as they've worked in Japan, train her, and help improve womens wrestling in the US. Then as they next few generations come in, we can get better and better stands out of American women's wrestling, then there should be talent that has the skill to go over to Japan, be a Joshi star, and will know the sort of thingd to expect and do. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted July 27, 2002 But on the other hand, Taylor from Tough Enough was over there recently working a tour for Arsion. The former WWF wrestler Tori was a regular over there, and competed at both Dreamslam shows. Neither of them exactly set the world on fire with a vast amount of grappling ability. Molly could do it, if she wanted to.
Guest deadbeater Report post Posted July 28, 2002 Mindless, I saw Hogan beating the crap out of Muta in Japan. And Hogan greatly expanded the moveset for his visit there. And he beat Stan Hansen with the lariat! If he of all wrestlers is major over there, why not anyone else? Ok, now on to another topic. The announcers here. These guys spazz out whenever Trish shows up, but then they make jokes on Molly, despite the fact they have a similar bodytype. They don't realize that they are burying the division as a whole, making it a joke, when they put eye candy over mad skills? At least Tazz is apologizing for his antics on a recent Smackdown. It was no coincidence that The Rock greatly expanded his moveset like he was about to fight Muta and Tenryu when the Fantastic 4 showed up that fateful Raw night. He would otherwise have been exposed.
