So I've read that the original plan for the top three matches was:

 

Brock vs. Rock

 

Hogan vs. Vince

 

HHH vs. Nash

 

 

since Nash was injured that won't go through...but my question is:

 

Where would Austin have fit in?

 

They wanted him to put over Brock...so they were planning on Brock in the Main be then.

 

They have been building towards Hogan vs. Vince since before Austin left.

 

And I'm sure HHH handpicks his opponents at this point...

 

So where would Austin be?

 

Still in the first hour against Benoit?

 

Yes the match would own...but I think I'd walk out too if I was still in the plan to be a bottom feeder...

 

while a promoter, rookie, movie star, the worst drawing champion in the history of the company, the guy who drove all the teen audience away, and the guy fucking the bosses daughter who is a shell of his former self...

 

were scheduled to work a triple main event.

I don't think Austin would've fit in because they book week to week. I don't think they knew what to do with anyone before Austin left as far as a weekly plan goes. Hell, I'll venture to say that when Austin walked out they didn't know who they wanted as King of the Ring.

 

However, it looks like they are slowly starting to build things more long term.

I read somewhere that Austin was supposed to start a summer long program with Beniot after he finished up with Eddy after the KOTR....
