Surfer Paul E.

I was watching a tape of NWA TV from 1989. The show was NWA Main Event. It was hosted by Lance Russell and Paul E. and aired Sundays at 5 on TBS. Lance and Paul E. are in a studio introducing matches taped at a misc. arena. In between matches, Lance ask Paul E. about the Dynamic Dudes. Paul E says he hates them. Lance moves on, but Paul E. keeps making fun of the Dudes. Then the following sequnce happens:

 

Lance: "Coming up later will be Terry Funk....."

 

Paul E. acts like he's surfing, Lance is ignoring him.

 

Lance: "We'll also see The Road Warriors..."

 

Paul E.: (With a California Surfer voice) "Like Surf's up, dude."

 

Lance keeps going but keeps getting interupted wiith comments like:

 

"Cowabunga, dude"

 

"Let's go throw a frisbee, man."

 

"Like, Moon Unit Zappa is my favorite artist... man."

 

Lance finally throws it to another match.

 

 

I don't know why, but I thought it was hillarious. You should hear Paul E. in a "California Surfer Dude" voice.

I'll agree with you even though I haven't seen it just because you have the BEST AVATAR EVER. I actually saw that movie more than once in the theater.

Whenever I see that photo I can't help but think "Must look at spoon!! Must look at spoon!!"

 

Anime girls' eyes aren't as big as hers.
