Guest PB-13 Report post Posted July 24, 2002 I'd love to see Jericho's face when/if he found out that he would be moving to Raw with Hunter. Would you rather it have been Angle? (envisions Angle winning the title at Vengeance, Edge beating him for it on Smackdown, and Anglesault's head exploding...mmm...oh sorry...)
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted July 24, 2002 Edge beating Jericho doesn't phase me anymore. Which is kind of odd since this is the first time it's happened on TV... I think this is what he meant: A: we're used to Jericho losing to everyone B: we're used to Edge beating people who are better than him
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted July 24, 2002 And while I'm here, Brock got moved because they fed him everyone on Raw (excluding Taker, who, well, sucks). Now they will feed him everyone on SD. Hogan, Edge, and then Angle and Jericho, who will turn for the sole purpose of having Brock kick thier ass. Probably Rey too. On a side note, after F5'ing everyone but Rock, I wonder if they remember those two are feuding now. On another side note, Angle is fucked.
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted July 24, 2002 I just read on 1wrestling that Mike Awesome Wrestled Tajiri on Velocity. Maybe they were wrong and it was a Dark Match? Also, "Team Canada" has been getting some pretty good heat, but who knows how long that will last? Test won't do much for them so I say they add Tajiri and bring Regal over to SD. Since their being called "The Anti-Americans" and not "Team Canada." Tajiri can be the Cruiser of the group and Regal can always bring comedy and good mic work. Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted July 24, 2002 From 1wrestling.com (This was also sent to them from a Fan, I believe.) Dark Matches: 1. Sean O'Haire vs. Funaki: O'haire gets the Win with A Fireman's Carry Slam after a good big man little man match with Funaki. Winner: Sean O'Haire 2. Molly Holly and Dawn Marie vs. Victoria and Torrie Wilson: Hard fought match between all 4 ladies. The finish came out of nowhere as Torrie Hit A running swinging neckbreaker on Molly Holly for the Win. Winners: Torrie and Victoria. Chimel gets on the Mic and tells the crowd to get hyped and loud for the Velocity Intro. The Velocity Pyro was awesome and Loud. On a side note Announcer Mark Loyd Tripped up the stairs and got booed and laughed at viciously by the crowd. Velocity Matches: 1. Billy and Chuck vs. Hurricane and Shannon Moore: Nice to see something of a 3 Count reunion (I don't care if the gimmick sucked these guys can work). Finish comes after Hurricane Hit a CHOKESLAM on Billy but walked into a Chuck Superkick since the Referee was distracted and Billy made the cover. Winners: Billy and Chuck 2. Tajiri vs. Mike Awesome: Good match and it was nice to see a returning Awesome. early on it looked as thought Tajiri injured his shoulder due to an Awesome Belly to Belly. Match was good considering the injury and the fact that Awesome seemed to be favoring the injured knee. Small ECW chant broke out when Awesome set up for the Awesome Bomb. But Alas Tajiri Countered and Kicked Awesome in the Knee and Head for the Pinfall. Winner: Tajiri 3. Hardcore Holly vs. Rico: Interesting Match here. good back and forth action from both men. Finish came when Holly countered Rico and Hit the Alabama Slam. Post match Billy and Chuck Ran down to attack hardcore and Valbowski Made the Save. Winner: Hardcore Holly 4. Jamie Noble w/Nidia vs. Kidman (Cruiserweight Title): another Excellent match from these two excellent cruiserweights. Kidman hit his standard spots including the Sick looking Fireman's Carry to a neckbreaker. Great set of False Finishes had the crowd on the edge of their seats but in the End Noble got the win while nidia Held Kidman's foot to prevent him from Kicking out. Winner and Still Champion: Jamie Noble
Guest mach7 Report post Posted July 24, 2002 The WWF has never been able to properly book a monster heel. Oh, really? Obviously you missed the 80's. Andre, Bundy, Earthquake, The Undertaker.. and hell, even Sid Justice to an extent.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 24, 2002 Yes, But it was easier those days, basically the way to go was...Get Tall or Fat guy...Have them squash Jobbers for a month...They attack Hogan Buddy (Bossman, Tugboat, Duggan). Hogan comes to rescue...Evil man's manager makes threats and demands a match...Hogan declines at first but a henious attack later, Hogan accepts the match. Go to show...Squash said big man at 7 minutes and it's all good. Seriously, The only REAL intriging feuds Hogan ever particpated were with NON-Big men (Dibiase, Savage, Flair). Today, you can't build your HUGE evil big man...Somebody like Earthquake would be a joke today. While ALBERT would have been a main eventer in Late 1980's, he is merely a jobber (and rightfully so)...Fans don't buy Lesnar a EVIl Big Man because he has no intimidation aside from his physique and nowadays, that's been exposed so much, it's not all impressive anymore. Just a Stant 10 years ago, Brock Lesnar would have been the biggest Heel ever in WWF history. Today, he is another overpushed hype man. The best heels today are the Angles, HHH's, McMahon, Storm, Nowinski and to an extent, Bischoff. Not because of their apperence but their mouths. Brock needs to learn to speak. Not speaking works for Rhyno but not Brock.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 24, 2002 You mean "Growl, snort DIE!" doesn't woek for Brock?
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted July 24, 2002 Fuck! Mark Lloyd back on Velocity with Cole! Did anybody hear them last week? Cole was making fun of him...Cole was making fun of him. I realized by page two that Brock was going to SmackDown for a dose of piped-in cheers and boos...kinda like Goldberg. So it comes full circle...he's even after Hogan. Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted July 25, 2002 The crowd is receptive for Lesnar when he runs in on Angle/Henry match and gets more of a holy sh!t response when he f5's Henry then anything else. He did get some heat for the f5 on Hogan, probably cause it was Hogan. I think that at least for this smackdown they didnt do anything funny with the editing process.. Theres a cool video segment on Lesnar: Paul Heyman: Pray for Mercy, for your prayers will be unanswered. Pray for the People's Champ (Rock) for he shall need your strength, for Brock Lesnar is the NEXT BIG THING... The way Rey Jr pops up on the ramp is pretty damn cool and his match is pretty good too.. John Cena calls Test a Canadian Woodchuck. How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if Test could chuck wood? (Making fun of Test's teeth, now thats a new one..) The Cage match is awesome. Mysterio comes to save Edge with Cena because Test threw him into a metal door in the segment prior to the cage match starting. Im betting they taped it after the show to make his helping out make sense. His jump off the cage is pretty cool.. I can't tell who went with Bischoff. But it can't be : Jericho,Test,Christian,Lance Storm,Edge, Rey Jr, John Cena or Kurt Angle.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted July 25, 2002 Brock needs to learn to speak. Not speaking works for Rhyno but not Brock. But who's fault is it that Lesnar doesn't get the proper mic time. I've mentioned it before Lesnar's done radio interviews before and he's not terrible. Give him a chance to expand his character, because the monster heel doesn't work today. He can learn from people like Angle, Rock, and Jericho how to cut good promos. I don't have any problems with Paul Heyman, but I don't think he's helping Lesnar. The WWE has to have Lesnar get mic time in order for him to get any real heat. Heyman saying he's the next big thing, and Lesnar grunting is not working. Guest deadbeater Report post Posted July 26, 2002 The was a show called Life goes On a few years back--it was a show that featured a kid with Down's Syndrome. In the first few years, the opening credits featured a girl ooking at her body by a mirror, talking loud about her lack of breast development, she said "Grow!" Molly must be desparately commanding these divas to "grow" in wrestling development. If there is no one else breaking out to even look like she can rival Molly, the women's division would be all dark matches until Jazz and Lita returns to action.
