Guest Janus527 Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 I would have to go with the STF, though I definitely have a soft spot in my heart for the Million Dollar Dream. We need Dibiase back!
Guest Sadyv Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 Boston crab is IMPOSSIBLE to get on a person who actually knows grappling. As are most pro wrestling show holds. The boston crab is ridiculously easy to stop. I've rolled with friends before who had no real skill, and they could stop it. All the bottom guy has to do is reach out and grab the legs of the guy trying to put on the move, and he will never get turned over to his stomach.
Guest InigoMontoya Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 Someone mentioned the UFC and their holds. How many submissions used regularly in the WWF are legit holds used in shoot fighting like UFC? Just wondering.
Guest CaptRiker Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 The most painful move I've seen is what I think is called the Queen Angelica Stretch in some video games. Perry Saturn does it (not very well) sometimes, but the best and most painful one I saw was Bull Nakano doing it to Alundra Blayze at Summerslam 1994. The move is basically a sharpshooter, but they turn around and lift your head and wrench your neck up. Ouch.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 How is the Texas Clover leaf not winning? That move is as cool as Wade the Duck.
Guest goodhelmet Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 "How is the Texas Clover leaf not winning?" Sorry man, the laws of Canada dictate that any poll that includes moves by a Canadien wrestler must have Bret Hart and Chris Benoit signatures in slots #1 and 2 respectively. Any violation of these terms will result in full military action from the Canadien mounties.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 BAH! The sharpshooter is overrated.
Guest goodhelmet Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 "The sharpshooter is overrated" I agree. Only Bret and Owen made it look convincing and Sting and Rock are embarassingly bad at applying the move. But who am I to argue with Canadien law. The crossface on the other hand is all it's hyped up to be, provided that the Rock is not on the receiving end.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 Yes the crossface is my 2nd favorite submission hold. BUT the texas cloverleaf is the best. Let Christian or Storm use it so that a Canadian can rub some magic on it. Or Jericho for that matter...his finishers blow.
Guest goodhelmet Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 I haven't given up on the proper use of the Walls, the way Bnoit applied it to Jericho during their J Cup match in 95. It looked painful as hell. As for his other finisheres and the current (weak ass) Walls, I agree 100% Do you think HHH helped Jericho develop his use of the Breakdown? Or told the agents that two consecutive Lionsaults warrant a kickout?
Guest Coffin Surfer Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 Jushin Lyger's surfboard dragon sleeper was a painful looking submission hold. Like the one he used in Super Cup 94, The Great Sauske(sp?) looked like he was gonna be snapped in half.
Guest Dace59 Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 Inverted surfboard with Dargon Sleeper Rear Naked Choke Double Arm Dragon Sleeper/Reverse full neslon with inverted facelock Muslce Buster Alpha and Beta (submission Versions)
