Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted July 24, 2002 Judging from what I've read on this board, a good chunk of the posters are from the Boston area. So, if there's such a huge group of wrestling fans here in Boston, how come we have no decent indies? NWA New England, which is based out of Revere, very rarely runs shows these days. Chaotic Wrestling, the largest indy in this area, appears to have folded. (P.S. On a related note, a Chaotic alum is now in WWE- Chris Nowinski!) One of the EWAs in this area folded also. (There were/are two, I believe). My promotion, AWA, generally stays in New Hampshire, usually getting no closer to the Boston area than Wakefield. (Which, coincidentally, was/is the site of a Ring of Honor show). It seems that almost every state has one or two decent indies, how come Boston, which has been a huge hotbed of wrestling for years, not have one?
Guest JC Marxxx Report post Posted July 25, 2002 Quality indies in New England, let alone Mass, are pretty tough to come by. My personal favorite WAS the NWA-New England, before Tony Rumble died. Back then (going back a whopping three years!) they had some of the best talent in New England, and used WWF guys on a regular basis. Of course NWA-NE is now a parody of itself, but that's besides the point. I run some local shows out of the RI/MA area, although for the most part it's on a shoestring budget, so we are a) not taken seriously or B) never even heard of. In my opinion the best indy you'll see right now in the Mass area would probably be the UWF, run by Bobby Cruise. It uses the best talent in the area for the most part, and has some of the best in ring action. You can check them out at www.unitedwrestlingfederation.com I believe. If you wanna see anything about my rinky dink promotion, you can always check out www.thencwonline.net
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted July 25, 2002 Hey, JC, welcome to the new board. Why are you never online anymore? I still wanna go see one of your shows, dude. Speaking of which, I could probably advertise the hell out of it locally in Franklin. As for New England indies, there are barely any good ones, and there's really no reason. Guest JC Marxxx Report post Posted July 28, 2002 Hey dude. Just been working alot lately, which has been keeping me from my online lurching. Sometime in either October or November we'll be doing a show in Dedham, probably the closest to the Franklin area as we'll get for awhile, I'll let ya know though. Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted July 29, 2002 Yeah, I saw a Chaotic School ad in PWI (I still fucking hate it how they send me PWI instead of WOW, because WOW owned PWI...fuckers fuckers fuckers!). I'm thinking of either going to get training there or finding Mikey Whipwreck's school in NY.

Guest JC Marxxx Report post Posted July 31, 2002 The place in New Bedford I believe your thinking of is Yankee Pro Wrestling/SCCW, which if I was your brother would strongly think about forgetting. Once the premiere federation in the area, it's now regarded as a joke, especially after Bobby Cruiser (owner of UWF) left the promotion and took alot of guys with him (Gorgeous Gino Giovanni, Kid Krazy, etc..) Chaotic wouldn't be a bad place to go train, however their product is somewhat questionable, and seems to reak of mark mentality (i.e. name dropping WW(F)E stars on there website, etc..) Also Brutal Bob Evans, who has worked dark matches and Jakked tapings for the WW(F)E is now training his "Slamtech University" in Pawtucket, RI.
