How should Hogan end his career?

Recommended Posts

Guest Your Olympic Hero1

I'm thinking this is how Hogan should go out:

Turns heel one more time between now and Wrestlemania XIX. Brock insults Hogan about being American, leading to Hogan's face turn. Hogan goes into seclusion and the match is announced for Wrestlemania XIX, Brock Lesnar vs. Hulk Hogan. Which leads to...

Wrestlemania XIX, Georgia Dome, 40,000+ in attendance -

Hogan comes out to Real American and goes over Brock clean with the legdrop.

<OR>

If Goldberg ever gets in WWE, have Hogan go over him at Wrestlemania at Georgia Dome in a rematch from 1998

Just my opinion.

Your ideas?

I think the end is sooner than later my friend...at this point, nobody would buy another heel turn...his retirement match should be at the Survivor Series, where he goes down clean...in terms of your suggestion, what good would it do anyone to have him beat Lesnar clean? And why would Lesnar make fun of Hogan for being American? Lesnar is American. In retirement matches, you gotta go out on your back.

Have Flair turn heel one last time, have them both have their last match together at Wrestlemania and have Flair cheat to win.

I think MSG is the site of Survivor Series, which would be a appros. site for his farewell match. Against who and why is the question mark, of course Vince would perfer Hogan/Austin or Hogan/Goldberg but we won't get that.

The purpose of Retirement matches are for the guy lay down and give someone else the rub.

However, I think Kurt Angle oughta be the one to send him out.

I think that they should save Vince McMahon for Hogan's last match...

And Hogan should beat him clean in his final match.

Hogan has been putting people over (Rock, Angle and HHH all clean) so he deserves to win his last match...

...but not at the expense of another wrestler.

I agree with that.... And as a Added Unique twist...

The Retirement Match is...that if Hogan WINS he retires... If Hogan Loses he serves out his contract in whatever way McMahon sees fit.

That would be the smartest thing. You could easily write an angle around it. Say, that Vince won't let him out of his contract and keeps booking him into evil matches (say, Hulk vs Brock and Angle handicap, whatever). So they make the match with McMahon where Hulk gets to retire if he wins. Vince is the only "big" name that's both appropriate for Hogan's last dance, and can be safely beaten without damaging credibility.

I'm worried though that they'll call up another old timer for nostalgia's sake, like the Iron Shiek or Warrior.

I want to see Vince give Hogan a chairshot! He must have fantasized about it over the years...

I agree, Hogan vs. McMahon for Hogan's last match. The retirement stipulation is something that I've been a fan of ever since it was proposed since it's unique and as far as I know, it's never been done before (the win to retire stip that is)

Plus, it would have so much significance if they play it up correctly. Sure, it would be a horrible match, but really, we can't expect anything more. It would be the best way to go out... Hogan vs. the man who claims that if it weren't for him, he would've never made it. Then, the next night or on SD depending on whatever happens within the next few months, he comes out and gives a heart felt sincere 10 minute retiremenet speech, and then either A) becomes a road agent, B ) is used on special occassions C) Becomes a spokesman or D) Just retires completely, which I don't think will happen because his contract calls for I believe 3 years of service in one way or another

He should have his last match against Vince, then jump off a 100 foot cliff without a parachute so we KNOW he wont be back.

All of us know Vince's track record for letting people leave his company. Here are the options.

A) Leave via skit. Foley style. Probrably the most dignified.

B) Leave in a storm of controversy a la Austin and Hart. Vince's personal way of having people leave.

Bottom line: Vince is the one who calls the shots in how Hogan leaves. Either that or he just leaves like Austin. I don't see Hogan exiting looking very pretty. Same goes for Taker.

Hogan should turn heel one more time (maybe after this anti-American angle is done), do a heel run, then turn face again and go out at WMXX at MSG.

That's probably how it should be...but he won't make it til WMXX, unless he plays an angle where can leave for a few months, come back as a heel, then turn face at MSG...but I dunno.

I like the idea of him getting to retire if he wins at Survivor Series over McMahon. That would be the best way to go out.

Or maybe use an idea a friend of mine was using in an e-fed--make him a commentator. Of course...don't know how good he'd be at it, but he could have non-televised tryouts. And CAN'T be worse than Cole, can he?

I strongly feel that Hogan shouldn't do another heel turn.

I feel that would make his fans feel betrayed and won't care much, considering this is possibly his last run.

Keep him face, have him in a retirement stipulation against a young wrestler of his choice who he feels is exceptional.

Or hell, past the Hulkamania legacy to that person and have em pick up Hogan's entrance.

Hey guys, I'm back! (at least for two weeks, but I won't make the big drama exit I did before. ^^; )

I think we all know what Hogan's last match will be: a squash against Chris Benoit. *sigh*

Turning Hogan heel would be a terrible idea. It sounds like something Hogan would suggest to Vince in one last desperate attempt to prolong his career.

Face it the only reason Hogan is getting a response is because people want to cheer him for what he use to be. If he turns heel they won't care enough to give him a reaction.

Just job Hogan out until his very last match then give him a respectable way to end his career in his last match.

But i'm figuring that Vince will pull something like Bret or Austin on Hogan as he is leaving. Vince is like the mob...you never exit in one piece.

Since they signed Hogan to a 3 year deal, they still have 2 years to get as much out of him as possible, and that means that he'll still be wrestling for quite some time. I think in a year in a half he will wrestle his final match against Edge.

They've been building up this whole friendship/Hogan worship for a while. It would be very appropriate for Hogan's last match to be putting over Edge, the WWE's most favorite hulkamaniac.

But instead, they'll let the honor go to HHH.

I say that Brock Lesnar becomes the WWE Undisputed Champion and he puts his WWE Undisputed Title up against RVD's WWE Intercontinental Title and RVD wins and since you can't have both the WWE Undisputed Title and WWE Intercontinetal Title at the same time they have a tournament for the WWE Intercontinental Title and Hogan wins and therefore becomes a Triple Crown winner,he later losses the belt to Edge but Brock Lesnar defeats RVD for the WWE Undisputed Title and Hogan defeats Brock Lesnar for the WWE Undisputed Title at WWE WrestleMania XIX.Hogan then losses the WWE Undisputed Title to someone who needs a push like John Cena for example and Hogan final matches is at WWE WrestleMania XX at Madison Square Garden in New York,New York and he teams up with Mr.T to take on Edge and Christian and Hogan and Mr.T win!!!

Thanks.

Suggestion: take a breath, lay off the amphetamines, and please, pleeeease don't hope for Hogan to still be wrestling over the next two years. If it happens, I'm blaming you, boyo.

Ideally, Hogan would stop wrestling pretty soon, because unless he stays in the tag format, he's ring poison. He'll have an on-air role somehow though, because he still gets ridiculous pops and probably will for quite some time.

They'll probably bring him back in some sort of idiotic 'owner' position...since they've gone through Commissioner, General Manager, President, Owner, all that stuff, I'll say that Hogan becomes the first ever WWE Prime Minister.

Do people really want to see this much wrestling from Hogan? Especially in any kind of main event???

Notice how many tag matches he's been in lately... kinda says something about Vince and Co's expectations of him...

I say do the retirement match against Vince at Survivor Series, and just be done with it. He can be a goodwill embassador, road agent, truck driver, whatever... so long as his in-ring days are over.

I would just like to see him win the WWE Interconitinental Title therefore he would be a Triple Crown Winner. The rest of that stuff was just so you could go more in depth with the storyline.I think Hogan's farewell match will be at WWE WrestleMania XX though.

Thanks.
