Rey...doesn't really have a finisher.

In his lucha stuff, he could win with any sort of top rope move or weird pinning combination.

There's three minutes of the show I can devote to a piss break. (I was anyway, but whatever). Why the hell doesn't he have one solid move to finish him off with? That's Booker's problem too.

In lucha, from as much as I can gather from my limited exposure, there really isn't an emphasis placed on one killer move or finisher, like there is in the WWF. Rather, there's any number of moves from a wrestler that's adequate for getting a pinfall. There's a much wider range in what moves are effective, and a move doesn't have to be a signature of a wrestler, nor push the limits of devastating-looking moves. Hell, a Mahistrol Cradle, or School Boy can still end a match.

So, that's very much the format that Rey brought with him to America. He can bring out a move that can take you out at any time, but one doesn't serve as a sole finisher. But he's finished off matches with a "run up the turnbuckle" Hurricanrana, a Top-Rope Bulldog, a Hurricanrana roll-up, a Springboard 'Rana and more.

That's not the point of lucha, Anglesault.

Nobody has a "finisher" in lucha--it's very different from 'regular' wrestling in that the finish can come out of nowhere anytime in any fashion. Part of the excitement comes from wondering if THIS will be the move that does it--no, maybe this one! Totally different from American style.

Like I said, the big hurricanrana is what I've seen Rey use most of the time, but thinking about it, he's used all sorts of top-rope grapples--bulldogs, diamond dusts, stuff like that.

Edit: Wow, Mafia said the same thing as me. Nutso.

a Mahistrol Cradle

when that move is used properly it looks like a legit finisher, Rey Misterio Jr can make it look good in WWE.

I would mark out for that move.

His eyes make him look like he is about to "hulk up" Incredible Hulk style....(not Hogan style)

I hope he can come back and do the nifty moves he was doing many years ago. I saw a clip of him jumping from one ring, to the top rope of the other ring and doing a hurricanrana to the guy standing in the ring. I don't know if he can do any of that stuff anymore. I think it would be a good idea to let him mix it up with the bigger guys as long as he's not used like Spike Dudley.

So I'm assuming an inside cradle could look DEADLY as well?

Bad thing is, due to the WWE's ropes, all of the springboard moves are basically gone.

But if rey can bring it at 50% of what he could in his prime, he won't need those moves and still will have some hot ass matches.

In his last few days with WCW he used a top rope leg drop...and knowing that no one uses it in the WWE, i think that would be his finisher.

Though really if rey is able to pull off move amazing moves, counters and not high risks maneuvers but like the basic's it will impress everyone.

Yeah but it was a springboard legdrop. He would stand on the apron, and almost leap-frog the ropes and springboard into an incredibly high leg-drop. Much cooler than Psicosis' guillotine.

I hate that, and any move that your opponent must PURPOSELY hold themself up or whatnot in order for you to do the move. That kind of thing just irks the hell out of me.

RVD and Tommy Dreamer are the only ones I have seen make that move look realistic. Other guys just sit there and wait....at least they act like they are trying to get up and struggling.
