Guest GenerationNever Report post Posted July 25, 2002 N/T Bill O'Reilly is the host of FOX News' "O'Reilly Factor." What is your opinion of him?
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 25, 2002 OMG- I've been meaning to start a thread like this forever. I LOVE O'Reilly Factor. I havent missed an episode in three months and if I work nights I stay up till 5 am to watch it. Seeing Bill tear apart a guest is a thing of beauty. His take no shit attitude and the fact that he gets a lot of scoops and always gives us both sides of the issue is what makes the show great. IThe show always gets me thinking and talking and I always right him if I have something to say which is quite often. And on that note- Bill is God and GenNever rocks for starting this thread
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted July 25, 2002 Bill O'reily is the kind of guy I sometimes watch for the entertainment aspect, but I don't agree with him on most of the issues. His approach is nice for ratings, but if you are trying to argue the liberal side of things on his show, you are gonna have a tough time getting two words in before you are interrupted. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted July 25, 2002 He's a prick who's usually misinformed about what he's bitching about. I personally can't stand the man.
Guest Shaved Bear Report post Posted July 25, 2002 hes awesome, he really does cut through all the bulshit in tearing people apart, i listen to his radio show also
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted July 25, 2002 Yeah, but unfortunaly he then proceeds to replace the bullshit with his own brand of bullshit.
Guest Shaved Bear Report post Posted July 25, 2002 well everyone's entitled to their opinions
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 25, 2002 even if they are wrong. O'Reilly rules.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 25, 2002 Hey- there better not be any spinning in this thread! Okay....that was lame
Guest MDH257 Report post Posted July 25, 2002 Like him or not, he's entertaining. That's why he's so popular. I have to admit that, even though I disagree with him half the time.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted July 25, 2002 Well I don't really find him entertaining, annoying and closed minded yes, entertaining not quite. However i don't find much entertainment in news shows or political shows unless it's The Daily Show or Politically Incorrect.
Guest GenerationNever Report post Posted July 25, 2002 I know he's not a liberal, so is he a Democrate or Republican? Is he religious? Because I'm not too high on religion.
Guest MDH257 Report post Posted July 25, 2002 1.)I was really dissapointed that Politically Incorrect got canceled. 2.)The only news show I like watching is ABC World News Now, now that's an entertaining news show. 3.) You may think O'Reilly is close minded, but he's mild compared to some of the other guys on FOX.
Guest MDH257 Report post Posted July 25, 2002 I know he's not a liberal, so is he a Democrate or Republican? Is he religious? Because I'm not too high on religion. He leans conservative, but he's not so far to the right that he absolutley never takes the liberal side of an issue
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted July 25, 2002 Oh i know the boys over at Fox are 10 times worse then Bill O'reilly. I could only stand Fox News for 2 minutes before i had to turn the channel or throw something at the tv. So while i agree that he isn't the worst out there i still strongly dislike O'reilly. My dislike for him mainly stems from that special he had on one of the networks about entertainment (movies, tv, music, video games everything entertainment). Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 25, 2002 Bill O'Reilly leans conservative but is independent. He criticises Bush a lot. He is Catholic but doesn't jam it down people's throats.
Guest GenerationNever Report post Posted July 25, 2002 Are there any non religious news show hosts out there?
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 25, 2002 I just said he is Catholic- he didnt say he was religious. I've watched his show for about six months and I've only heard him mention it twice.
Guest MrRant Report post Posted July 25, 2002 Are there any non religious news show hosts out there? You better move out of the country if the only people you will listen to are non religous.
Guest GenerationNever Report post Posted July 25, 2002 You better move out of the country if the only people you will listen to are non religous. I didn't say I only listened to non religious news show hosts. I just wanted to know which aren't. Although, I do like Japan...
Guest Ripper Report post Posted July 25, 2002 The night I listened to him try and talk about the negative influence of Hip hop on todays youth and pulled luther campbell out his ass as a example, I knew that he really dosen't have the slightest idea what he was talking about. I was really looking forward to him interviewing Alec Baldwin though. I wanted to see what would happen in that much moron occupied the same space. Besides that he is just basically noninformed moron...that for some reason I am compelled to watch...weird.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted July 25, 2002 Ripper...that's exactly one of the things i hate about him. He always names the worst example of something and passes it off as being a common example of what he's bitching about. He also seems to search out guests which represent the worse of what he's talking about that will back up his point through their own bad example. On that entertainment special he had on one of the networks one of the segments had him talking abut the negative influences that music has on children. And who was one of the guests he had on during the music segment? Insane Clown Posse who are one of the worse guests that he could've gotten to defend music. And of course ICP backed up O'reilly's argument because they are idiots and are a bad example. Yeah you may call it entertainment. However the problem is that it probably also had parents that have no clue about what their kids do and rely on people like O'reilly to tell them this stuff thinking that ICP is an accurate example of modern music. Guest Shaved Bear Report post Posted July 25, 2002 even if he is not always right he is damn entertaining and ICP areent musicisians, they're retarted
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted July 25, 2002 I've watch O'Reilly since '96(?) when FNC started (I think it was that year). If I had to compare myself to a news/opinion broadcaster, it would be to the Big O. Some random thoughts... *My favorite guests over the years were the one who disagree with him the most because they're entertaining as hell (Nader, Reich, Donahue). I remember one segment he had some black chick on who left in the middle of a segment! I think her last name had "Berry" in it, and she was on some panel to invetigate voting rights or something in Fla. after the 2000 Election. * When someone or something screws him over, he goes after them on his show and makes no bones about it. (Enron shrinking his portfolio, not getting invited on NPR, Mikey Kinsley writing a critical article on him etc.) Talk about a bully pulpit. * To prevent this from being a suck-up fest, one thing I don't like about his show now are all the children-at-risk segments, and how everything is bad for children. I'm not saying looking out for youngins is bad, but damn, I hear enough of this stuff from politicans all the time... Anyway, love the guy, although his two books are rip-offs to anyone who watches his show on a regular basis.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted July 25, 2002 and ICP areent musicisians, they're retarted Well yeah, that's my point.
Guest Vyce Report post Posted July 26, 2002 Bill's a prick. Which is why I love the guy. I think mainly it comes down to your political affiliation. If you lean conservative, you most likely enjoy him. If you're die-hard liberal, he's gonna annoy you. The one thing I DO hate though, is all the crap FOX News gets. "Oh, they're so biased!" So fucking what? WOW, a network biased towards CONSERVATIVES for a change. It's a nice change of pace. Don't see.....oh, ANY of those out there today. Guest GenerationNever Report post Posted July 26, 2002 I have no problems with conservatives, as long as they aren't Christians or Nationalists.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 26, 2002 Tonights show was great- I loved the segment about the Avilia trial. O'Reilly is the Man!
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted July 26, 2002 I hate O'Reilly. The reason why: he doesn't care about anyone else. His views are the only ones that matter to him. He specifically books guests which he wants to tear apart one-sidedly, shouting them down without even giving them the slightest chance to fight back. What's the point of a "discussion" show which is simply one man repeatedly screaming out why he's right?
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 26, 2002 Ummm have you seen the O'Reilly Factor?? Nope I guess not. If you had you'd realised how asinine your statement was. Watch Bill with the Fl congressmen on immigration, the man who wants In God We Trust to be posted in a classroom or the wife of a pilot killed on 9.11 who wasn't allowed to testify before congress. Then you'll realise how wrong what you posted was.
