Guest J*ingus Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Except for True Romance, I'm noticing a distinct lack of director's commentary. Grrrrrrr.
Guest El Satanico Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 They will probably be 19.99 or 24.99 at stores. Keep an eye open the week they come out the better stores may have them at 14.99 give or take for the first week or so.
Guest C.H.U.D. Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 I'll be buying all 4 of 'em. I really want the Mr. Brown cover for the Res Dogs DVD.
Guest King_TIL Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 I think the Mr. Brown cover is the rarest out of the five. CDNOW isn't even offering it.
Guest godthedog Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 hey, how about if tarantino, you know, CAME OUT WITH ANOTHER MOVIE instead of spending time on this? wouldn't that be great? also: no commentary and no screenplay make 'pulp fiction' a dull dvd.
Guest areacode212 Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 Yeah, the lack of commentary sucks ass. So NOW Tarantino decides to shut up? What the hell? Well, as someone else pointed out, I'm not sure how much of his yapping I'd be able to take. But still...

But still... i don't think he's any worse than paul thomas anderson, and he managed to keep the 'boogie nights' commentary pretty interesting.

He has a new movie coming out in October 2003 called Kill Bill. The cast is looking good, especially with Sonny Chiba.
Guest converge241 Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 I never saw true romance but I will buy the other 3, first day !!!!! go see it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kill bill should be good Vega Boys next? btw,Buy.com has the rare resevoir dogs cover (Mr.Brown)
Guest MDH257 Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 1.) I don't understand why everyone is dissapointed that there's no commentary. It's probably the most anaylised and disected movie of the 90's. I'll be the first to admit a commentary would have been nice, but the DVD isn't ruined because of there's not one. I may be happy because my expectations were low. I've been waiting for a special edition DVD for a long time and had long since knew that I would be happy with the DVD as long as it had the bonuses that the laserdisc had (according to IMDB that would be the deleted scenes and a one hour interview with Tarantino). I hope that the Charlie Rose interview is the entire show and not just highlights. It was a great interview and when I saw that it was included I was hoping that the Jackie Brown DVD would have the interview from around the time he was on to promote that film. 2.) Kill Bill probably would have been out by now except that Uma got preganent and filming was delayed for several months. 3.) I heard that he was going to start filming a World War II movie after Kill Bill.
Guest El Satanico Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 Hell i've heard rumors of the supposed Tarantino WWII movie for 3 or 4 years now. That one point i believe that there were rumors that Adam Sandler was going to be cast in it and as a serious role.

Guest C.H.U.D. Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 so, as it stands, i don't have any real reason to get the 'special edition' when i can watch my video. Well, there is one reason. Video sucks.

Video sucks. i like video. i've spent way too many hours in the college library enjoying HORRIBLE prints of great movies with subtitles i can barely see on a shitty little tv to care about video quality a whole lot anymore. as long as i can see it and hear it clearly, it's good enough for me.
