"OFF TOPIC!!"

Considering the absurd nature of the topic, a credophile trying to predict who's in a limousine on a wrestling show seems entirely appropriate to me...

Oh, I am sorry. I meant I could see a glimspe of my future. And wrestling is a part of my future.

Sorry.

I see...

In Scott Keith's Biggest Fan's case, I think they are called delusions.

I wouldn't be so quick as to call it all absurd. There are obviously many things we don't know about the universe, some of which were questioned in the topic. However, since the only two real discussions going on have been me talking about how it's all in my head, and the implausible (I agree with you 100% on this one DrTom) idea of the moon landing being a hoax, I can see how this particular topic has taken a turn for the worse, and made the "believers" look bad. But it's not all bogus. After all... remember the coelacanth! Remember the kraken/Giant Squid!

"But it's not all bogus."

Maybe not, but I believe that extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. A lot of paranormal claims don't even have ordinary proof behind them, let alone extraordinary. But then again, I've always been a skeptic.

I wish I could remember who said it, or the exact quote, but I found this idea somewhat interesting: "The whole idea behind supernatural occurances is that they exist outside of our known science. So why do we insist on using science to prove their existence?"

It's a circular argument. Once science is capable of explaining something, it ceases to be "supernatural," under your definiton. Saying it exists outside of our known science doesn't mean it's unexplainable, just that it hasn't been explained yet.

Part of my point is, let's assume two things for the sake of argument:

1. Ghosts exist, and

2. They operate completely outside the realm of science, at least as we know it.

If that was true, all scientific methods would be worthless in attempting to prove or disprove their existence. That's the problem with paranormal activity's relationship with the scientific community. What if the occult simply doesn't play by the same rules that we do?

Science is the observation and theoretical explanation of phenomena. Ghosts, assuming they exist, are a phenomena. If they are explainable, they will be explained by science, by definition. The scientific method has a pretty good track record of being used to eventually explain things that for centuries people thought were unexplainable. Perhaps some supernatural phenomena, if they do exist, are unexplainable, but I find it foolish to assume anything is unexplainable, given science's track record.

I was done with it, but you were claiming to have psychic abilities.
