NWO; could Goldberg and the rest be far behind?

Recommended Posts

Guest Court

Don't get me wrong, i love stables. Horsemen, Hart Foundation, and even the NWO. But now that the orginal are back, could the rest of the WCW crap be far behind.

Now personally, i'd like not to see Goldberg return. He's too one dimensional and right now we need wrestlers with personality.

So if the split takes place, who gets the crap from the feds?

If the WWF needs one last "big name", they'll go after Goldberg.

If the split happens, the roster will be divided up evenly.

Goldberg sucks. He's just a Stone Cold wannabe. I don't want to see him on WWF TV. =)

1) WCW wasn't just "crap", the BOOKING was crap.

2) Goldberg isn't just "one dimensional", he was simply BOOKED that way. He only did just what he needed to do to get over, and it worked damn well. If he came to WWF, I assure you that you would see more to Goldberg than his "two big moves" and his "yelling".

3) I firmly belive that both Goldberg AND Sting will be in the WWF sooner or later, but not untill their other contracts expire. The exception is only if the WWF feel the need to bring them in, and they offer to pay them what they are getting for sitting at home, and I don't see the WWF doing that.

4) Now that you are here, when are you going to start begining/ending your posts with "Court is now in session"? :-p

Clearly, You failed Marketing class in High School because any one with a tinge of intelligent would know that Austin-Goldberg would create huge buy rates and bring in a large revenue.

On a personal note, I'd seriously doubt WWF will hire Goldberg after his statements regarding WWF and WTC and his various alteractions with WWF Superstars.

The ME picture in WCW was crap.

There is no reason to assume that. You have a guy who doesn't really hide his contempt of the busines. You have a guy who Bret Hart calls "dangerous" to work with.

WCW booked his matches to hide his weaknesses--which is why they were usually exceptionall brief.

Sting has already claimed he's retired (although, and let's be honest, he quit actually putting forth effort in his matches back in 1998) and the WWF's interest in Goldberg isn't exactly high. Bill is the Ultimate Warrior of this generation---a head case whose drawing power has been overstated for years.

I didn't mean WCW was crap, i know alot of it was, but not all. I personally liked the WCW version of the FLock, i liked DDP and i loved the Wolfpack.

I'm just worried that WWF will get stuck with the crap that was in WCW. Crap in WCW, crap in WWF, all bad.

I'd like to see Sting in WWF though, either dark or original, not the in-between version he became in the end.

And no, my signature will not be "Court is now in session." :-)

1) The Main Event booking wasn't the only thing that was crap. There was crap up and down the card. The ONLY thing that was NOT crap, was the Cruiserweight scene, obviously.

2) There is no reason to assume that it was booked that way. They put Goldberg out there, and the fans bought into almost right off the bat. Why would they change anything? Why would they allow him to do anything differently when it was working as it was? Goldberg could have been so much more, and if he makes it to WWF, then you will see.

Of course, there is no way you NOR I can assume anything, it's just our opinions, and that's that. Neither one of us is right, and neither one of us can prove our points untill he DOES come back.

3) Actually, Vince has shown HIGH interest in Goldberg, as shown in a recent interview with Vince on a radio talk show. He praised Goldberg, and said he does indeed want to, and WOULD bring him in, if Goldberg wanted it. Right now, it is GOLDBERG who shows little interest in coming into the WWF, and I can't really blame him. He's playing his cards, and he's getting paid for sitting at home.

After that "free pay" ends though, he'll begin to show in interest in the WWF, and the WWF isn't stupid, they'll offer him what they can.

4) As for Sting, he'll be back. Only a few days after his "retirement annoucement" it was annouced that he was in talks with TWO Pro. Wrestling federations in the USA. No, this doesn't mean WWF, but it's possible, and there is no way for me to prove it, and no way for anyone else to prove against it.

I think we will see Goldberg in the WWF at some point. Vince & J.R. have always indicated that they were interested in hiring him, but it's completely up to him. He won't come in while he's raking in free cash, but once the contract runs out, I don't see why he wouldn't join the WWF. I doubt his movie career will last very long and he'll want to keep his name out there.

As for him being dangerous to work with, I hope they'll have him train in HWA or OVW first.

I really don't care much one way or the other about Goldberg, but I really hope Sting doesn't go WWF. The guy virtually WAS wcw for almost 20 years, and I'd hate to see him, and it would be inevitable, jobbing to the Undertaker. Some things are just best left alone, and I think Sting knows this.

Here is my list of people I want the WWF to hire (I know a few of these guys have no chance of returning but it's my list):

Jeff Jarrett

Bret Hart

Rey Mysterio Jr.

Psicosis

Devon Storm

Chris Daniels

Randy Savage

Those are really the only guys I would add to the WWF if I had a say in things.

There i said it, now i'm gonna get me some cake damint!

you know, when you've got Hogan in the wwf ad he doesn't even main event WM, setting on a sub par match before hhh vs jericho, you really shouldn't wait for OTHER wrestlers to come aboard...

1) The Main Event booking wasn't the only thing that was crap. There was crap up and down the card. The ONLY thing that was NOT crap, was the Cruiserweight scene, obviously.

They didn't even book the mid-carders. It's like the WWF now.

Because GB didn't draw after aout 9 months. If a guy stops drawing, you have to try something different.

GB does not LIKE the business. He's made that abundantly clear. He's sloppy, so the WWF would be loathe to put their stars in the ring with him. He's  head case outside of the ring and God knows the WWF has enough of those right now.

Of course, there is no way you NOR I can assume anything, it's just our opinions, and that's that. Neither one of us is right, and neither one of us can prove our points untill he DOES come back.

And I seriously doubt he'll come back.

If the WWF REALLY wanted him, they'd have gone after him.

They realize what a lot of fans seem to miss---Goldberg is another Ultimate Warrior. He drew well for a while, but once fans saw his schtick, they stopped caring.

After that "free pay" ends though, he'll begin to show in interest in the WWF, and the WWF isn't stupid, they'll offer him what they can.

The "free pay" period ends in about 2 years.

If they still "need" him then, then the WWF is too screwed to be saved.

4) As for Sting, he'll be back. Only a few days after his "retirement annoucement" it was annouced that he was in talks with TWO Pro. Wrestling federations in the USA. Sting lost his desire to perform years ago. His WCW stuff since 1998 was embarrassingly bad and you could tell that he was just mailing in every match he had.

Oi Oi Boy Boy and Bee Bee.

I think referring to Goldberg as a 'headcase' is WAY too strong. I'm no fan of 'Da Spam's and have no desire to see him in the whiff but he gets an excessively bad press a lot of the time. As a performer, he sucks, he takes himself way too seriously, can be tactless, and has a major temper, but I wouldn't put him alongside the Warriors of this world as someone who has serious psychological problems.

Well, let's look at him, shall we?

Challenged Steve Austin to a fight while on the "Tonight Show".

Yelled at HHH at some licensing convention.

Refused to play along with the heel turn because it "might hurt the kids"---yet played an even MORE evil face immediately afterwards.

If not Warrior, he's Bret Hart circa 1997.

Goldberg, Bitchoff and sting will not be in the wwf ever, from what i gather. Even though the Bisch would be cool with the nWo just because of the supreme heat. I hate Scott Steiner and don't want him in, but it's more likely i suppose.
