Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted July 25, 2002 The one and only Edwin MacPhisto walks through the hallways of The Gund, un-official home to the SJL wrestling federation. Workers of all kinds, from pyro technicians to producers to agents, writers, and bookers run every which way, preparing for tonight's edition of Metal. The Commishioner isn't one to be left out, as he walks at a brisk pace, casting some direction over the proceedings and going over the run-down with his staff. One displaced staffer, disheveled from attempting to find Edwin through the sea of people, runs up to him and speaks, and she tells of someone waiting for him in his office. Edwin splits from the group, as he heads off to his office to meet with whoever is in there. With a turn down a hall, he arrives at a door, with a placard which reads "Edwin MacPhisto - Commishioner" tacked on it. With a deep breath, he grips the doorknob and turns it clockwise, opening up the door to a lavish office. He reaches over for a light switch and flicks it upwards, but as the light comes on, no one is to be seen. Instead, he spots papers being flung from a black leather swivel chair turned backwards, to either the general area of the tin trash bin, or back onto his mahogany desk. "Developmental talent, "The Sensation of Seattle" Mikey Jones... He's gone, I'm sure you don't have any problems with that, especially considering the way he treated Marky Mark Stevens." Edwin continues to look on with curiosity, as another stack of stapled papers overhead the trash bin. "Damn, almost got that one in. As you can see, my shooting percentage isn't too good at the moment. Now, let's see... Andrew Rickmen, wants a World Title shot... Hell, he's got it. I've always liked the guy, and I can understand why he walked out on us." A tattooed arm reaches onto the desk, searching around for a pen. With one firmly in hand, the hand disappears out of sight again, no doubt to write something about the "Insane Luchador". "A fancy pen you have here. And look at this inscription, "To my best friend, Edwin. From Mark Stevens." Now isn't that sweet. No doubt a present to you, probably from back when you forced him out of the federation. I would've beat your ass, had you done that to me. Guess he didn't have the balls." The previously mentioned papers fly upwards, over the back of the chair, onto the desk. And as they do, the amused look on Edwin's face turns into one of disapproval and anger, concerning the man who shamelessly mocks his job, his friendship with Stevens, and a period in time which MacPhisto no doubt wants to forget. "It's been a while, hasn't it? About two months... Tell me, how does it feel manipulating others from behind your shield, from behind your seat of power. Because, I sure enjoy it. I envy it. I envy you." To which Edwin replies, "You tell me. Are you here to play head games, or for something important? Because I've dealt enough with The Clan, Silent, Rickmen, your former mates in the sWo, and anyone else I can name; I know how to handle it, you can't shake me." "The sWo? The sWo is a caricature of what I created. I saw what was coming, I saw what was about to happen. So I got out when I could... I wasn't about to become a slave to Wilson, nor bound by whatever plans Flexxx and Poisyn were conjuring up behind my back. I opted for freedom, I opted for a choice. The sWo are not friends of mine." The man replies. Edwin breathes easy, as the man known as Mafia stands and departs for the other side of the desk, his boots pounding the carpeted ground. He takes a seat in one of two chairs, allowing the Commish to take his rightful place. Mafia reaches a hand into a bowl of Jolly Ranchers, and places his feet on the desk, as Edwin pauses for a moment and continues on. "Now that we've got the pleasantries out of the way, tell me what you're really here for. You walked out on the SJL for no reason. The sWo, that's one thing, but when you walk out on the JL, you walk out on me, and I obviously don't appreciate when my wrestlers come and go when they feel." "I didn't walk out on anyone. I exercised a clause in my deal that would allow me to opt out and entertain other offers for any period of time during my first year...If I found a deal I liked, I could leave. But if you haven't heard, I was offered a generous deal by the WWE." "So, why didn't you..." "Why didn't I ditch the SJL for them? This brings me back to that whole freedom deal. Believe it or not, this is where I belong, not wrestling three minutes a week, un-appreciated..." "Well, what makes you think I'd take you back so easily?" "I knew you wouldn't. So I went over your head to the higher-ups." "You didn't..." "Oh, I did. You're now obligated to book me on your shows, starting after Wrath. In case you don't believe me, there's the new contract right there on your desk, it's the big stack on the right corner. Why do you think I had to throw all those papers on the floor? I had to make room for the thing." A disgusted look comes over MacPhisto's face, as Mafia stands from his chair and heads out the door, with a few last words. "And that Mafia thing? That's your creation, not mine, created for me when I showed up... I tried to play along as long as best I could. If you'd read through the notes on the contract, my on-screen character now goes by a new moniker, Manson. I'd suggest that you get to reading my contract and cleaning up this mess I made in here, show time is drawing near." "Do you honestly think you got the best of me tonight?" "No, not really. I never intended to, I just came by to hand you the contract, when I got a little carried away... I really must comment again on how nice that pen was though, looked damn expensive." Edwin looks down at his desk, only to find everything that should be there except the pen, and he sighs heavily to himself, as he looks over at the hefty contract requiring a thorough examination. "That bloody bastar.... Eh, I was gonna fire Mikey Jones anyway. Go, Eddie Mac!" /End
