Why do you hate Rob Feinstein?

I was just wondering about why a lot of posters say they hate Rob Feinstein? I know the quality and prices of his videos are kind of whack, but is that a reason to hate the guy? I have also heard that he is an asshole, but where does this come from? Has the man personally been an asshole to you? Just wondering where all the RF hate comes from.

He video quality is crap

 

His prices are outragous

 

Many orders he send out are unlabled and wrong...and he can and will take months to correct them if he even does at all.

 

Whenever a worker dies he rushes out best of tapes...he's been heavly promoting the re-release of the Mass Transit incident.

 

He puts himself on as much of his tapes as he can...Wrestling's most memorable moments he takes up the last hour of it to show some lame ass angle he did in ECW (like it's really a memorable moment).

 

RF comedy is the worst shit ever and yet they try to do it on every tape...on the road with crazy and tajiri, they advertise it as this hilarious thing...and all he does is say to people "is Tommy Dreamer here, hehehehe"...his sense of humor is just non existant...and on the memorable moments tape they load it with more brutal RF "Comedy", it's painful to sit through.

 

He's just a dick in general.

God, where do I start?

 

-RF is the single most expensive tape dealer in the business. Jeff Lynch doesn't charge that much.

 

-Despite that fact, he's apparently too poor to buy a simple microphone for conducting his shoot interviews. Some of them are almost completely inaudible, like the infamous Shane Douglas shoot where the viewer is basically reduced to lipreading.

 

-He never pays royalties to the wrestlers for making money off their matches. In fact, he actually LIED ON CAMERA to Abdullah the Butcher in his shoot, claiming that RFVideo didn't sell any tapes with Abby on them and only kept them for their own personal viewing.

 

-He's a shitty interviewer, usually just saying "You worked in Territory X for Year Z, what're some of your memories from that?" over and over again. With a few born motormouths like Jim Cornette this technique works, but with untalkative fellows like Harley Race it can turn into an excruciating couple of hours.

 

-Lots of his tapes, especially older tapes or stuff from Japan, are of rather questionable video quality.

 

-He hasn't organized his online catelog in years, there's hundred of tapes just labeled "All Japan" or something similar and you have to go through them one by one to even try to figure out what year they're from.

 

-The tapes take a LONG time to arrive, sometimes as much as three months. Supposedly he's gotten better about that recently.

 

-The tapes often arrive unlabeled, or with just a "Tape #2758" label.

 

-RFVideo frequently pirates tapes from other dealers and sells them as their own, full price. Half the shoot interviews on their site were done by other people. Lots of Best Of tapes are stolen in a similar manner. The most egregious example is their selling of any Big Japan tapes, since WKMedia has an exclusive contract with them.

 

-Despite his own lawbreaking, Feinstein is a fucking lunatic zealot when it comes to making DAMN sure that nobody sells or trades his shoot interviews. It's almost impossible to sell them on Ebay now, and he's been known to actually bully tape traders with legal threats to get them to take the shoots off their lists of tapes they own on their websites.

 

-He sells porn videos on the site, and apparently doesn't exactly check hard to make sure the buyer isn't a kid.

 

-He reportedly posted a message on a board claiming to have the R. Kelly sex tape, and offered to sell it to known repeat customers. Which would be selling child pornography.

 

-He allegedly called around town to try and convince ticket sellers that the MLW show at Viking Hall had been canceled, in an attempt to hurt their attendance.

 

-He's been known to consistently spam the Death Valley Drive board under different aliases for years now, despite the fact that everyone there hates him.

Aside from all that, he's a stand-up guy and his ROH promotion is pretty cool.

-His shitty VQ (which has been mentioned and sure will be mentioned in every reply)

 

-Sometimes never get the tapes I order

 

-My tapes comes trashed. Once I got the package but there was such a large hole in it that my tape wasn't even there. Now post office is a little responsible but maybe it wouldn't have happened if Rob used a new packaged instead on that was previously used which I can still see the other persons adress

 

-Oh and don't forget his poor effort of shilling himself on message boards pretending to be some one else.

 

-The fact that he pretends to be his girlfriend and tells me he is out working out with Tajiri and RVD even though they are in Canada or in California that night.

 

-His tape prices

 

-Threatening people for tapes he doesnt even have rights to selling

I bought a Best of Chris Benoit tape from one of his wrestling stores (they're found in select malls...but they aren't stores, they're more like Kiosks), that had no audio. I had to go back the next day to exchange it. It was very inconvienient.

 

And from what I understand, the Ring of Honor tapes, while good, are somewhere around 30 bucks a piece, and he won't let traders sell them, yet he does the same things to everyone else's tapes.

 

What a dong.

yeah, feinstein blows chunks. try ordering 4 tapes from them, all crappy vq, sending two back, marking them just to see if the rumours are true and receiving the same two tapes.... 6 weeks later.

 

as for his ROH shows, they are way overpriced and the shows themselves, while pretty good, are way overrated on the net.

Why I don't like RF:

 

Basically what everyone has said plus the following.

 

I find the fact that promoters are nice enough to let him set up a booth at their shows and he then sells tickets to ROH shows to be pretty sneaky. I guess you could call that good promotion, but I call it unfair.

 

After he and CZW stopped working together he started posting on the CZWfans.com message board, and started talking shit about CZW on his site. Stating he would no sell a lighttube shot at one of his shows. That's pretty juvenille if you ask me.

 

Oh yeah and he's Jewish. hahaha, just kidding.

I think Jingus has pretty much said it all. However, I have a couple more RF related tales.

 

-During Jody Fleisch's and Jonny Storm's US tour, they hit CZW before ROH. CZW ran Fleisch vs. Storm during Best of the Best 2, something that pissed off Feinstein, since he wanted to run the match first. (Of course, every promoter wanted to run that match. It just so happened that CZW got the first crack. I heard that Fleisch and Storm's best match wasn't at either CZW or ROH, so go figure). For payback, when a couple of CZW employees attempted to attend a ROH show, since they were giving Fleisch and Storm a ride, Feinstein refused to let them in. The CZW employees offered to buy tickets, but Feinstein still refused to let them in.

 

-At Best Of The Best 2, Feinstein had a couple of airhead blondes pass out ROH fliers outside Viking Hall. Later, during an intermission, the same blondes were inside the building and passing out said fliers. When a fan refused to take a flier, one of the blondes replied something among the lines of "The commission says that you have to take a flier." Who do you think told her that line?

 

I personally hope NWA-TNA blows up, signs their talent to exclusive contracts, and puts ROH out of business.

Everyone hates there boss. For the longest time I just thought that was part of the M.O., but man if Rob Feinstein isn't the worst FN' boss I've ever worked for.

 

I worked at the RF cart in a local Mass Mall for 14 months, and had to deal with all his bullshit. Shitty pay, bad management, shady business deals, his constant worrying about his product, even though he didn't know half the shit that he sent to the stores, and not to mention the illeagal operatating and dismantling of his "Boston store" in the middle of the night after I closed up shop.

 

His customer service was horrible, his office was run by a bunch of marks, and the first time I met him, he was busy slobbering over Tommy Dreamer's nuts at an autograph signing.

 

*Sigh*

At least now I make more than minimum wage.
